    How would we introduce the return fare (two way) in this solution? Say 1way is 100 and 2way is 170. No doubt it would make our life and the calculations harder, but would be an important point to consider right?

      as he mentioned about the pass first, the passes are for both incoming and outgoing routes . The same figure was used to calculate the daily ticket charge which automatically is bound to include the charges of incoming and outgoing route on daily basis...Moreover his approach was based on approximation, I guess more or less he might be near the actual figure

    In the LMV part, they have assumed that per day charges are Rs. 100 which makes monthly charges of Rs. 3000 but they also assumed Rs 4000 for the monthly pass. How can be charges for the monthly pass greater than the aggregate monthly expenditure?

    There's something weird:
    You assumed that
    1) a passing LMV has a 50% probability of having a monthly pass
    2) monthly passes are sold everyday with equal probability
    Then don't you think there will be a HUGE difference b/w
    start of the month : where very few vehicles have monthly pass
    end of the month: where the no. fo passes have cumulated over the month ?

      Assumption and Knowledge are 2 different things in Guesstimates , both should be notified/ put in front of the interviewer.
      Also, he already took revenue from other segments just didn't take it for passes. So the said knowledge doesn't apply here.

      @aasaanbehera6147 Před 2 lety +4

      @@dilkashgazala831 The user named Fantasy star above, explained it really well. Let me try to elaborate this with the help of 2 scenarios
      See, 11200 LMV pass each day with a monthly pass. (A pass which is valid for 30 days) for which you have to pay upfront and then you don't have to pay anything for the next 30 days.
      Now imagine two scenarios -
      Scenario 1 - BW sealink only allows the sale of the pass on the first day of the month (lets say they sell it online). So they have earned the entire monthly pass revenue of the whole month (30 days) on a single day, which is the first day of the month (say 1st of April) and earn nothing from passes for the next 29 days.
      Scenario 2 - BW sealink allows the sale of the pass on any day of the month. So, all 11200 vehicles are free to purchase their passes any day of the month. And hence assuming that the number of passes sold everyday are the same, the no of passes sold per day will be 11200/30
      It is this second scenario that has been presented in the video.

Option 2 is Big4s also provide with education loans and even sponsor education if someone is willing to study further. The path is little longer, but I can assure that there's definitely a way and I hope Mr Prakhar Sinha will agree to this too! All the best and Cheers!!
