Amare Stoudemire had one of the best lowkey individual playoff series I've seen. He put up 37 and 10 on 55% shooting in 5 games against the Spurs in 2005. Putting up those numbers against Tim Duncan and the Spurs in their defensive prime is simply amazing.

I remembered playing NBA 2k12 and when i play with Pacers and Knicks, Stoudemire and Granger is a monster. I feel sorry for Granger's career having such injuries and cut his NBA career short.

Stoudamire nor Granger fell off "over night". Several big injuries later in his career caused Granger to digress and then just retire. Stoudamire also had injuries, aging body, and a cancerous organization contribute to his decline. Melo and Stoudamire can't work together.

He tore his achilles and when he came back his stats were down drastically across the board. He was nothing in his last 2 seasons. Even before he tore his achilles he had already taken a production fall while his usage rate was as high as ever.
dan skel yeah it just didn't work out for Melo and STAT. They both operated on the same spots on the court so it ruined their cohesion and adding Chandler didn't really help either. They rarely could all be on the court at the same time. Their mins had to be stagnant
Holly Molly agree with you. Looks like mike just running out of material to talk about. Amare averaged over 20ppg for 7 seasons with everyone knowing his knee was a walking time bomb for most of that period.
Only person on this list who actually belongs is D.Will. His former teammate Carlos Boozer would have been a better choice than Amare. We also have people like Lamar Odem and Monta Ellis.

Andrew Bynum at one point was one of the best centers in the league. But after losing in the WCF to the Mavs and Phil Jackson leaving, his number went all the way down.
I remember in 2k10 or 11 I was drafted to the pacers, didn’t really know the pacers but it was the Granger, Hansborough and Hibbert Pacers, which I ended up liking. Granger quickly became one of my favorite players and we won a 3peat before I went on to the next 2k game

Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer were both products of Jerry Sloans system. They both ended up underachieving for other franchises after the Utah years.
Note that Utah was also a small market compared to Brooklyn. IMO, D-Will felt really uncomfortable playing in the big market and Pierce has a point, the MVP thing just would not stick with D-Will.
You're completely right. Jerry Sloan made D-Will, Boozer, Okur, Korver, Kirilenko, and hell, even Paul Milsap into stars. When all of those players left, all of their careers tanked immediately, except for milsap. Hes actually still doing good things probably only because of what Sloan made him into

Prior to the 2005 draft, there were indeed questions about Granger's knee. He was seen as a potential top-10 pick, but teams were scared off by concerns he would have injury issues. He outplayed his draft stock for sure, but it seemed inevitable injuries would catch up to him eventually. It was a similar story with Brandon Roy - everyone knew he had talent, but he went #6 instead of 1 or 2 because of his injury history.

Well with Ben Gordon. When he went to the Pistons. Joe Dumars also gave Rip Hamilton a contract extension. So instead of being the assumed starter. Gordon was coming off the bench. Also Gordon and Hamilton games were very similar. Both needed to run off of screens to open up shots for themselves.
