Countach startup. Loud, sounds like an aero V12

- Classic 1980's Countach being started from cold. Straight through exhaust. Similar to an aero V12 being cranked over.

Thanks for all the comments made. To answer some of the comments that are regularly made:
The "green car" is a classic Fiat 500, 1975 vintage. Not a VW Beetle.
The paint is original. Up close she has scars from use. But I have a good detailer.
The engine is V12, on tick over I accept that is does sound a bit like a V8. But different at rev's, check the other vids on my channel.
She is a QV model, 4 valves, 5.2L V12 with 6 x downdraft Weber carbs. Around 455BHP
100% original Lambo, not kit / replica. 🙄
Rear tyres are 345/35 R15. Only Pirelli make them. Not cheap! The Front are 225/50 R15
Appreciate the engagement and positive or negative, it's good to see such interest! 😊
It's hilarious every time someone sees a small car they think it's a beetle
Who the hell thought that was a beetle lmao!!! Hilarious 🤣
Beautiful 😍 car
As a kid I grew up with a poster of the countach over my bed. Beautiful car👍
Countach
So many of us had a poster of this car on our bedroom wall. That’s a beauty.
Thanks for the love. It’s a privilege to own this icon.
Or on a folder for school
Guilty.
From what I remember as a kid, Even though it had the Countach on the poster, it was advertising the Alpine stereo that was in the Countach.
It said, "Body by Lamborghini. High fidelity by Alpine."
I had exactly that. A Red Countach poster on my bedroom wall. Right next to Farrah Fawcett. One of those posters brought me great pleasure.
imagine designing a car that still looks and sounds AMAZING 40 years later truly a marvel.
nearer 50 years tbf.
Come back in 400 years and that thing will still drop jaws.
Yeah it truly is a sick look.....timeless and makes great noise too!! 👌
Cars sounded much better 40 years ago than todays cars 😅
....but is absolutely useless apart from speed....
The Countach is not a car, it's a piece of art.
As much as I'd like to own one, l couldn't enjoy it.
Guys like me who are over 6 ft tall can't fit into a car like that.
As a kid I always dreamed of having one of these. The look, the sound, the doors. Everything about them just screamed awesome.
And it’s all of the above. Amazing car 🥹
@@CountachLamborghini , as much as I'd like to own one, l wouldn't be able to enjoy it.
Those kind of cars aren't built for guys like me.
@@BillK.1973 I hear you. I'm 5 foot 5 with size 7 feet, so it's perfect for me. But once you get beyond 6 feet, forget it. Diablo lot bigger, maybe an option one day?
I don't care what any of the purists say - the flashy 80s version with all of the wings and flares is the best iteration of this car and still goes down as one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
It's awesome, and I love the 80s, but the LP400 will always be the best looking car ever made.
Totally agree 👍!
I agree, the LP400 might have performed better but the LP5000 Q looks like the Darth Vader of cars, especially black.
It has to be THE most iconic car ever.....
@brobbus0 everyone has their own preference, nobody is wrong nobody is right.
Probably the ONLY car that still looks fast going backwards at 1mph out of a garage, awesome machine.
Best comment ever
Like a Gigant just woken up and getting out of his cave to rule.
The red makes it even faster
clap clap clap clap clap clap _I couldn't find my hands clapping emoji_
Parking a super ugly car right next to the speed car helps with the effect big time.
That’s the best “car stereo” I’ve ever heard! Nothing else needed except for keeping the window down at all times to hear that beautiful music!
I don't think you can open the windows on a countach... I'm sure it would be loud enough regardless :)
Easily one of the top 5 car designs ever made. I can't see one without thinking it's about to go into hover mode and blast out into space!
Can you imagine what the car came our in the mid 1970's, although no big wings / spoilers and tyres, nothing like it on the planet. Even today, park her next to modern metal and she draws a crowd. It's a wonderful and iconic design. All done on a drawing board with no computers.
2 of the most iconic cars Italy has produced in 1 mans garage. What an absolute legend 👍
*planet earth
What is the green car? Looks British

Ciao bello🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
When I was a kid, a guy a few blocks from my home had a white Countach in his garage. I would always jump on my bike and pedal over there hoping to get a glimpse of this piece of art.
@@MrPlatani You probably know that the original person manufactured tractors and bought a Ferrari, then complained to Enzo that it broke down. Enzo said something along the line of - what does a tractor maker know? Which made the person a little irate and go to make cars, and the Countach was his ultimate, at that time. So it may just be that the sound is on purpose. I drove an XK-140 Jaguar, later an E-Type, and thought, at that time, that they must have some kind of reverberation, or some baffles, to make it sound like that. Just a casual thought, at the time, but it may be true.
Did you run back home and masturbate or did you cream your jeans right then & there? OMG get a life people
@@Tmhen 🤣🤣🤣
One of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever laid my eyes and ears upon . Truly a stellar vehicle .
yeah, and the Lambo is nice too 🙂
This was my dream car growing up! I had posters of it all over my walls, models, die cast vehicles, remote control cars (which was the closest I ever got to driving one 😅) I did, however, get my photo taken next to one at the local car show when I was in high school 🙂
A true fan! Yes, I get goose bumps every time I see her. Love the design. So wild, even today! Glad you enjoy the old girl!
@@CountachLamborghini Take good care of her! 🙂
It's not the sound that does it, it's the condition of this 40 year old masterpiece. MINT!
Restored.
its barely driven so its bound to be immaculate lol.
@@saulgoodman7495 but you can keep a car in you garage for weeks witchout driving and it will start to rust and all, thing is he/she maintains it well even if its not driven
@@abrahamsanchez7455 No, all original. She is well looked after and loved.
It's a kit-car. 100%
Still my dream car after all these years.
That's my Dream Car when I was a young boy...and after 50 years, they came back with it Totally Renewed. Love it
Years ago I was on a German motorway and saw a Countach coming from behind. I was in the overtaking lane and when I looked in the rear-view mirror again just a few seconds later, the car had disappeared. I only saw the spoiler. A real dream car; unique design
Iconic design, that is now 50 years old. Standing the test of time well!
Always a great experience to see one in the wild
40 yrs. old and still more kick ass looking than any exotic car before or since. A design masterpiece.
Still an absolute spaceship and my favorite road car ever built.
When my neighbour (mechanic!) Had one he was minting up for his accountant. He had it up on stands, the front bonnet up and the doors up it definitely looked like a spaceship!
I love and adore this car. It's one of the cars that got me into cars as a boy. I was born in the 90s, so this isn't a car I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in person, but my dad would tell me about it on occasion and when he showed me a picture of one I never forgot about it. It's very cool to see such a beautiful one like this.
I was blessed many years ago to drive a white one of this...
Finally, a man who can reverse a Countach without having to sit on the door sill...
LOL!
Try backing three of them off of the top of a car hauler when your 14 years old. I was the only one who could fit in. And i was smaller so less digging if they had to dispose of my body if i crashed and burned.
@@davidreynolds4684 yeah sure sure 🙄
A 14 yr old in charge of 3 Lamborghinis. We believe you. Not.
Stellar example of THE iconic super car! The black leather with the red was perfect together. The only regret is that one doesn't have several lifetimes to enjoy that car.
That's not a Car its a piece of ART.
As a yute, my walls were lined with Countach posters. Viper then Countach are my dream cars. ❤
That thing looks ridiculous even by today’s standards. So cool.
The best looking and most iconic supercar of all time - and what an engine!
Needs a rebuild with that smoke at startup
THE childhood dreamcar. It was in The Cannonball Run and I insisted so much to watch because of the Countach that my parents let me. I'll never forget it.
You and me both. The opening scene with the cop car chase. Iconic !!
Still one of the coolest looking cars ever made
Amazing....that sound... the goosebumps it gives you.. i was a youngster, in primary school when my granddad picked me up in his '81 400s at school.... I felt like the king of Bahrain... 😊😅😛🤣 .. He had it for around 10 years, never put more than 29k on it.. would love to know if it is still around.. if memory service correctly.. he sold his right hand drive to an advocate in Sandton JHB RSA...what a dreamers car..
What a childhood you had! To have been picked up in a Countach at that age wow. Something only most of us could have dreamt of. I'm sure the car will still be around somewhere. Few forums on the web where there is discussion. This would be your best point of contact to start with. 😃
The only vehicle I ever got picked up from school was the plunky van.
@@brownwarrior6867 a poop-brown Oldsmobile 88 and later a Ford Windstar for me. But I walked to school after grade 1 cause it was only 3 blocks lol
Y'know, i remember being in a 911 Targa just to be sent to a prom night-
I was going to comment something similar about getting the chills from how awesome it sounds. The sound coupled with what pristine condition, definite goose bump material. Thank goodness that people have preserved some of these and that modern HD video and audio allow us to experience one just like back when it was new. Thank you for sharing!
My dream car from the eighties thank you for the startup.
Welcome ! Other vids on my channel, have a look!
More than 40 years old and still looking futuristic. The best looking Lamborghini of all time.
We agree! Thanks for the love!
Back in the mid 80's I worked in what was called the Gray Market. Part of the testing we had to do the cars were on a chassis dyno and to hear a Lamborghini Countach running WFO is a sound that I will never forget. I can't tell you how many Countach's we made legal so that they could be driven on the U.S. highways. It was one of the better jobs that I've had.
Dream job to me. 👍
@@CountachLamborghini Yeah it was. It was the only place that I've worked that did Not care about money. You could work as many hours in a week that you wanted to. What got them shut down after I left was we had to take pictures of everything that we did to the cars. A folder went everywhere the car did and it was the proof to the EPA/DOT that the work had been done. Well my boss being the major a-hole that he was thought Hey I'll just use one set of pictures for every car no matter what it was. So BMW pictures could be used for Ferrari's or Lambos, or Mercs. plus he was taking "Coke" as partial payment on some of them, Well the EPA/DOT found out about that and said When your license comes up for renewal don't bother cause it ain't gonna happen. So he cost 100 people their job by being a jerk.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 Why the hell did they said "when your licence is up for renewal, don't bother?" What is that kind of logic?
@@paggavanslaan4436 Because he was taking drugs as part of the payment for making the cars legal to drive on the U.S. highways.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 I understand that, but why did they not close the shop directly? I mean you have proof of drugs involved. Why wait till the licence is up for renewal? That is the kind of logic that bothers me.
there will never be another car like the countach , just incredible in every way ,remember having the poster of a white one in the 80s on my wall
Usually also in the posters was a hot, cocaine skinny woman.
Mine was red with blonde in skin-tight one-piece drivers suit.
What a gorgeous car! Had one of these on my wall as a kid and still would love one in real.
When you come back to this video bc you miss that BEAUTIFUL FIAT!!
That beatiful Fiat is on instagram @valentina_fiat_500 😎
That green 500 is a great complement to the classic Lambo. Great collection.
Which car do you suppose would be his grocery getter?
Great combo
This is still the best looking car ever. Ever since I saw it as a kid on the Cannonball Run I have been addicted to it. If only I could afford one......CRY
Absolutely beautiful. One of my two favorite cars, the other is a Shelby Cobra.
You have good taste. I would love to own an original Cobra . .
Still to this day, the most beautiful car ever built or designed. Screw your hyper cars and all that rubbish, this was on another level! 🔥🙌
You and I are on the same level. Design is still so ahead of it's time.
I know what you mean. I live in Naples, FL and when I first moved here a few years ago, there was either a car show or simply a Ferrari show going on.
Anyway, I decided to go to it. Well, honestly I got bored within 5 minutes. Seriously once you’ve seen one new Ferrari you’ve seen them all, especially here every time you go outside multiple Ferraris are driving down the street at any one time.
At my old building I used to live in, just on my garage level (there was an upper and lower level) there were 3, plus 5 Porsches, 1 Maserati, 1 Lambo, 1 Bentley and some other very expensive cars too. Mercedes and whatnot. At this show I was much more interested in the old Ferraris than the new ones. They were way more interesting.
Dream car still to this day.
For a lot of people, yes!
Visual and auditory perfection. There's a reason the Countach is icon that it undeniably is, and that one is cherry!
OMG........I could listen to that for hours..... mechanized Symphony. Nothing sounds like an Italian 12. Bye the way......the car is absolutely beautiful also. That paint looks flawless. My compliments to the chef !!!!! LOVE IT
Sick 🤙🏻 thanks for sharing!
Got me nervous how close he is to garage with that masterpiece of a car. Takes me back to my youth! I always loved the Countach design
Yeah but I think he was just lucky driving from memory cause he looked around first. Don't know if he could get it out on the street and take off. A snail was crawling next to him and was winning. But at least he was smart enough to lower the door. Gotta hand him that.
I was cringing the entire time he slowly backed out of that garage, being SO close to the right side like that. Very brave to do that with an expensive car like that.
The price of real estate no longer surprises me when I see this supercars in small garage
I'll always love that car. In the 80s every boy in America had two posters on their wall, one of Farrah Fawcett and one of that car.
You forgot Bruce Lee
and Heather Thomas.
Two icons in one garage. Sweet!
That's awesome. Thank you so much. My 2nd favorite car of all time.
IT WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE LEGENDARY EXOTIC CAR AND FROM THE BEST DECADE EVER!! Yeah and comment they came out in the 70s cause I already know that it's that they became super famous in the 80s 🤘
There is a way of reversing the car . Door open half hanging out .
Otherwise horrible to reverse
This is honestly one of the best sounds ive ever heard in my life.
Really? Ha ha 😂
I prefer the sounds of a Mopar big block.
what a gorgeous piece of art
dont care what James May or the rest says, this car is and will always be my childhood hero, god that sound and those looks, id give my right arm to sit or even drive in one of those

@@CountachLamborghini I do, and well done keeping her in pristine condition
I would prefer to have the money myself, but if someone else is gonna have it I'm thankful is someone with taste ;)
Probably has always been my favorite sportscar ever since they came out.
Incredible engineering.
a work of art
In old movies, cars often have their engine sounds dubbed over. So it is lovely to hear the real sound. As a kid I expected a Countachs to have a Ferrari-like sound from them - but they are much different - it is a exotic muscle car vibe.. but in a crazier, more intense way and with a wild body - this thing has a presence rarely matched. Love it.
Thanks for the comment Lars. Most Countach you hear, they run the Ansa sports exhaust. Which is a nice sound, but not loud enough for my tastes. So I run a straight through pipe. Does sound like a V8 on tick over but once you hit the loud pedal it's more V12.
Countach + 500 = semplicemente fantastico! 👍👌💪
Quite beautiful. Visually and audibly.
Stunning piece of kit
