I had planned to name my Norwegian Elkhound 'Baldur'. When I told the breeder, she scoffed, "Baldurdash!"
"Perfect!" I exclaimed. "It fits him! It's playful, doesn't take itself too seriously, Just like him!"
"We can't show him with that name, what will the judges say?" She was dismayed, but It's the name on all his vet records, and all his human friends know him by Baldurdash, or simply as 'Dash.
And so far he has done well in AKC events.
