Last monsoon, Dandeli, which is Nature's true home, welcomed us with
it's teeming wildlife all around. The Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is home to Black Panther, Wild Elephants, Tigers and more than 300 bird species.
Rare bird's like Hornbills, Paradise fly catcher, Scimitar Babbler, Trogans, etc. along with other commonly found birds like Woodpeckers, Indian Oriental White Eye, Bulbul, Drongo, etc are a treat to witness in their natural habitat.
This was our 2nd visit to Dandeli, and we were better prepared to capture some stunning footages for our very own "Explore Wild Karnataka" series.
Earlier we had shared a teaser video from this travel showcasing the beauty of Dandeli Wildlife. So finally the wait is over and here we present you yet another addition to our Explore Wild Karnataka series: Wildlife of Dandeli.

We stayed at Kali Adventure Camp and Old Magazine House, a Jungle Lodges and Resorts property. These are one of the best options available in Dandeli and our favorite. Here you can be rest assured to have the best exposure to wildlife of Dandeli, as you will be accompanied with one of the finest Naturalists. They will make sure you don't miss out any opportunity to spot a Wild animal or bird and plenty of information on their habitat and behavior which is a great learning experience for wildlife enthusiasts.

Hi I am going to Dandeli tomorrow.. staying at the Kali Adventure camp for a nite which includes one evening Safari ...do you suggest to do one more in the morning...??
For birding the next two days inam staying at Old Magazine House so il visit Timber depot during my stay at OMH
Morning Safari is always better in terms of sighting compared to evenings. In the package only one safari will be offered. You can opt for an additional Safari though by paying the appropriate fee. You will have to talk to them in advance. For birding, you can take the help of naturalists to take you to timber depot, KULGI Nature camp. You can watch our other Video DANDELI- The Untold story. Hope this helps
Now a days they take only evening Safari and morning to timber yard .. biggest joke is Safari which is hardly 20sq km area out of 1100sq kmforest
Safari is a bit dull, but during monsoon it got magical… we happened to see Dhol and of course phenomenal performance by Peacock… and Beautiful birds there… The reason for timing change I guess could be to promote more on the birding part… But still there should be an option for people to chose …
@@TheGenteelMind undoubtedly it’s a thick beautiful forest … we saw peacocks , deer and few birds , but this forest should open up more routes to tourism … it’s has high potential to beat every forest of India if properly planned … it’s forest Dept who is not making proper planning for tourism zone … imagine a 1100sq km forest giving only tourism 20sq km ! That’s very disappointing … but I feel paying 2000+ for a jeep safari is not at all worth or may be once a visit …..
That is so true… Plus the restricted timings… Kind of set back…
