Outside of Notre Dame, Northwestern is my favorite.

DePaul is best! Northwestern is in a suburb outside of Chicago; UChicago is in a terrible neighborhood in Chicago. DePaul is in a phenomenal neighborhood in the best part of Chicago.
I would rather send my kids to DePaul than either of those two other schools. It’s a better college atmosphere. Most people don’t want to live in a suburb or in a sketch part of a city for college.

Stop coping. Lincoln park is the most soulless shithole outside of streeterville. It’s all national brands and DTC crap.

DePaul is better for college. A wonderful private, Catholic, Big East Conference university. It’s located right in the best neighborhood in Chicago (Lincoln Park)-not in sketch south side of Chicago, not far away Evanston. DePaul has a primacy in teaching-not research. For college-level students, that’s often better than a research-intensive university.

Depends on what you are studying. Of course U of C and northwestern are superior academically. Yet for the average student, DePaul offers an education that provides a great return on investment. Let’s face it, majoring in political science or sociology at any of these institutions is a direct path to work at Starbucks.

Average student? You are being intentionally insulting. A 3.8 GPA for the average accepted student at DePaul is hardly average. Find me even one high school where the class average is a 3.8 GPA. That’s who applies to college... high school kids.
I just met a class valedictorian with a perfect 4.0 who earned nearly every award at her private high school who chose DePaul. She wanted a school with a primacy of teaching, not research.
Ask the mastermind of the college admission scandal, Rick Singer, who sent wealthy kids to elite colleges why he sent his son to DePaul not long before he got caught. Why Mike Pence sent his daughter to DePaul (and then to Harvard for her masters). Want more examples?
You just make insults without justification. Ugh! Get a life.

@@user-fs8tl7ni1w My friend, I suspect you are a current or recent student at DePaul. I know the University well, trust me on that. The University has been and continues to be today - attractive to first generation college attendees, like me. Many students worked part or even full time while attending, and the school offered a nice balance of academics and real-world work experience. Students, on the whole, were hungry, motivated, focused on bettering themselves through an education that opened a world of opportunity unknown to their parents or grandparents. I'm certain the dynamics have changed over the years, perhaps quite a bit, yet it remains true to its core mission of providing opportunities to first generation college students, many from the City, many minority. DePaul will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'll forever be a Blue Demon. Having said that, here are the facts - concerning the 3.8 gpa referenced, grade inflation is a thing in high school. A 3.8 decades ago had meaning; today I'm not convinced it carries the same weight, pun intended. Concerning U of C and N'wstrn - if you look at college and university rankings, these 2 names are consistently in the top 10. DePaul? Comes in at #151, but #59 in best value. It's a city school, a gritty school by the El tracks. That's what I loved about it - no arrogance, not a hint of elitism. The only criticism I have is that they absolutely gotta fix the men's bball program - there is no reason peer schools like Marquette, Creighton, et all can have success and they can't. Lastly, I do have a life - in large part the quality of which was made possible due to the time I spent there. Best of luck as you continue on your journey as well.
