This was a fun and informative watch, thank you! As a prospective student (waitlisted RD; my hopes aren’t particularly high, but let me dream), UChicago sounds like a terrific and transformative place to go to college. The spirit of learning on campus is tangible, and very much speaks to me; and for a school that remains notorious (rather ignorantly and unfairly so, if you ask me) for “Where fun goes to die”, you guys seem like an awfully happy, friendly, vibrant group of people, very tightly-knit and personable.
Thanks again. I loved watching this. Gave me a great, inside idea as to what the atmosphere is like on campus. Gladly subscribed - hope to watch more of you! ✌🏼

Hi Lucas! I remember watching your video profile when applying, and I've recently been accepted RD! I'm also from a Chicago suburb, just wondering if you ever felt like it was a bit too close to home or enclosed? I'm glad you had a great first quarter keep up the awesome videos!
Hey congrats that's awesome!! That's kind of a tough question to answer, but definitely something worth considering. I honestly would have preferred going to college in a new city, but UChicago ended up being the best option for me. I feel like I have a good amount of separation from home and enjoy exploring new parts of the city with friends from other places. If you like Chicago, then there's a good chance 4 years here will allow to get to know the city even more. So overall I feel really good about being here. One other thing, if you can, studying abroad is a nice way to get out of the Chicagoland bubble. Once I graduate, though, I do imagine I'll really want to get out of here and start life somewhere new. There's no one right answer, it really depends on what you want!
