    Distance of cement looks like Dutch building technique.
    These quality stones we use for the inner walls.
    We use different better stones for the outside wall.
    Then you'll get a one off finish.

      I'm interested in brick prices of India.
      Maybe concrete blocks can also work nicely by using them in a perfect way.
      Some modern looked house.

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  Před 3 lety +1

      These are bricks. This construction was done in 2018 and the brick prices were INR 5500/ thousand. That's is around 80 dollars per thousand.
      I wanted to put this finish as exterior and as you can see that outside wall face is better than interior. I didn't use perfect write cut bricks where both the faces are perfect. Ration that wire cut bricks costs just double of it. Interior i have done plaster.

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  Před 3 lety

      We can use concrete blocks too as you suggested. However it's not that popular in India due to certain constraints.

    Can we use such an exposed brick wall in the bedroom? Should we take any other precautions since we don't do plastering or painting and use the raw brick wall?

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  Před 3 lety

      You can use exposed brick any where if done properly. However make sure that exterior of the wall is either plastered or there is enough projection to protect from rain.

    How well does mortar adhere to brick doing this...what about rain on the outer walls..will it cause dampness inside?

    • @10magicalfingers27
      @10magicalfingers27 Před 2 lety

      Hi. In an engineering point of view, I really don't recommend using these red clay bricks for this purpose. The rain will weaken the structure over time. Use flyash bricks which have less water retention and more compressive strength. They are three times better than the clay red brick.

    • @10magicalfingers27
      @10magicalfingers27 Před 2 lety

      And yes these red clay bricks will cause dampness inside anyways after some time.

    Bricks are built in such a arrangement that it will result to weak wall.
    Aur jis tarah se ye diwar bani hai usme material bht waste ho raha h

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  Před 4 lety +1

      It doesn't work like that. This wall is more strong because we cannot afford to give the gaps. Also the material is saved, try out on some project.
      1. We need good bricks for this kind of masonry.
      2. We need a rich mortar.
      3. Skilled labour
      All above makes wall more strong.

      Because the material is not good as you say, may effect the design for exposed brick. There may be less, but if we want to we can. Because existing buildings tells us that if they can do it, we can too.
