Thanks.
I started listening to Conor randomly at 13 yo living in Poland. I learned English by understanding his songs, because there is no language barrier here, this is heart to heart music!!! 10 years later, I was living in a shitty ass CT town and leaving a shitty ass relationship and randomly learned he was playing here. That day is still on my top 5 days of my life. I got to meet him after the concert, also randomly, but he definitely doesn't remember that, he was absolutely drunk. But he signed my CD, gave me a hug, and told a random probably made up story of his brother's bachelor party. Then his team dragged him away but he definitely wanted to stay and socialize with us.
Conor is a pure hearted soul and the best artist alive, you can't change my mind. I WISH HE KNEW!!!!! CONOR WE LOVE YOU SO DAMN MUCH THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR HEART WITH US AND INSPIRING US TO SHARE OURS TOO. Bless you
Jesus, Conor... if you ever see this, thanks man. The first time I heard about Bright Eyes was a guy I think called Jesse that borrowed the guitar I was playing at Spicy Lao hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos and played Bowl of Oranges. Since then you have become a huge part of my life. I 'll always remember the time I listened to "We Are Nowhere And It's Now" (for like the hundredth time) alone on the roof top of my old building after some *ahem* inspirational substances and a couple of drinks man that hit right deep down on my soul and it continues to do so, man were the stars bright that night... Seriously though, thanks mate.
Thanks for sharing. I’m not alone. ❤
Upside Down Mountain is criminally underrated and every live performance of any song on the album proves it
It's my favorite! I literally listened to it daily for almost a year. Practically all day.
the live performances are better than the album imo
Adore it… and the first one has a mystical rugging around it that makes it pretty special too
All of his solo albums are really. Especially self titled. Mystic Valley Band too for that matter.
Yeah dude you're not joking
Oberst's songs help me make some sense of the ridiculousness in our modern world.
i wonder if he has any idea the amount of people he makes so happy just by living and creating...??
I lost my mom 2 months ago. She was my best friend. I woke up today and watched the sun rise over the reservoir and now I have this on and it’s the first time I’ve felt content in a long time. Thanks for this, it’s lovely. Conors music helps me in ways I can’t describe properly.
Same here. Onward. Good luck.
"Life can't compare with memories......that never have to change." Artifact #1 is such a gorgeous song!!!!!
i accidentally saw bright eyes in college and have been listening to conor oberst ever since.
There are no better two hours on youtube. It just doesn't get better than this. Rebecca and Megan are perfect, too
A Lyrical genius on a musical adventure kind enough to take us along for the ride. Gratitude. Blessings to you Conor.
Cassadaga, I'm Wide Awake, and Upside down mountain= the trifecta! After more than a decade, still hear his voice on a daily basis.
i waited 13 years to catch conor live... and it was better than i could have ever imagined. and now i can relive that night forever. THANK YOU!
+Laura Elwell Glad you found this video, Laura. Appreciate your comment!
you are so lucky, im wishing wach bright eyes from 2002, and until today, i cant take it,
i'm probably the same timeframe, he's finally coming back to Manchester UK this September I can't wait
I feel exactly the same.. I could see them for the first time this year after so many years.. Unforgettable ❤️ I love every song!
I was one of the lucky people standing in the very front row. I've found myself in this video quite a few times :)))))
That lap steal player was on fire all night, non stop.
Yes, great to see so many females artists, that rock! Ladies, can now do it all but still a long way to go.
Conor is brilliant, and criminally under appreciated.
How could someone possibly be this good an artist? Thanks for posting, forever grateful .
Landlocked Blues is such a beautiful song
lots of my fav songs - and love Conor in a hat! If I would have to choose only one band in the world... this is it. I met Conor once at a concert and told him that his music is helping a lot of people.
That chick on the lap steel is dead on. Super talented!
I keep coming back to watch this. It's amazing every time.
SAME!!
Yea me too. It’s a symphony.
This version of Lua is an absolute masterpiece. The trumpet intro is just so, so smooth.
Great sound quality. Thanks for posting.
Yeah...Connor. What more to say. His lyrics saved my life at a time when I thought I was the only person on the planet who thought and felt the way I do. I couldn't find any actual humans to talk too...but Conor was talking about it, and other people bought his albums...so - proof!!! I've traveled hundreds of miles, across the country for shows, and got lucky enough to see MVB in my back yard 2 yrs ago
This whole song, but that last line..
But I give myself three days to feel better
Or else I swear I'll drive right off a fucking cliff
'cause if I can't learn to make myself feel better
How can I expect anyone else to give a shit?
And I scream for the sunlight or a car to take me anywhere
Just get me past this dead and eternal snow
'cause I swear that I'm dying, slowly but it's happening
And if the perfect spring is waiting somewhere
Just take me there, just take me there, just take me there
And say, and lie to me, and say, and lie to me, and say
It's going to be alright "
This video and performance from the entire band was priceless, it’s the only way to describe it. I’m so appreciative that this exists, so fucking beyond good.
This version of Lover I don't have to love is fucking genius.
I just watched that, skipped to it, genius.
Conor is the most lovable singer songwriter. He should be proud that all of his art is out there and he can write and sing as an outlet. i love this man.
Seriously I think this is the 15th time I have listened to this performance. Moves me every time. Thank you WGBH Music. Conor's music is a huge part of my life so it is wonderful to find high quality recordings like this. Top notch!
Why does this performance keep giving me goosebumps? Love it soooo much! Thanks to those who made an effort to make such a great video and share it with everyone!
i would pay soooo much to go back in time and see this show!
oh yeah? how much? i can help you with that.
@@maciekomis post a comment in the future and I'll be in touch
this was such an amazing show. I emailed his tour guide that he needed to come to boston because it had been almost three years since his last show in boston. I am so happy they made it happen. It always seems whatever conor is writing about is exactly what is going on in my life, and I'm sure most of his fans feel that way. He is able to relate to many people while still staying true to himself. thank you so much for uploading this! he is truly an amazing artist. right up there with bruce, neil, and dylan. come back to boston!!!!

"I know you say you'll go all the way, but that's not quite far enough... Someone told me that same thing... Someone told me that same thing... Someone told me that exact same thing once!!" 💜
I can watch this a 100 times, wow!
Good lord what a show...that performance of land locked blues was stunning
Larkin Poe brought me here and I'm glad they did! Thank you for these fantastic recordings
So wonderful, thanks!
Awesome recording... Thank you!
Connor is a great songwriter with an amazing band. Rebecca and Megan Lovell makes this special. Wish there were more of the two playing with Connor.
This is the most amazing recorded live performance Conor has pulled off during this stage of his career.
yeah this is not Bright Eyes, he is not trying to be bright eyes.
His music has evolved into something very special, and he has brought together a band that not only compliments him, but honestly are essential to the songs.
The depth of musical talent on this stage is simply astounding.
Thank you for capturing this with such high quality, this performance is memory lane.
+gusisboosted Thanks for the great comment! Appreciate it
WGBH Music No thank you.
This is truly an amazing gift you have given to the world.
Old Soul song is still one of his best songs to this date. Thanks for the wonderful upload!
What a fucking setlist
I saw him in London on this tour and it was one of the best live performances i've ever seen, incredible how many brilliant songs he can't fit into his setlist!
best setlist ever
Oh my sweet Jesus! Thanks a million for filming this and sharing it with everyone!!!
+Lonely Drifter Thanks for watching & leaving a comment! It was a blast capturing this show. Conor is the best.
Incredible setlist.
Really beautiful
i would riot for this. oh god don't let me die without seeing him live
Thank you so much for this wonderful Post!
Keep coming back to this show, thanks for sharing it 👍 I like the group, the set list, Larkin Poe fit right in with it and the production quality is 👌
Truly at the top of his game......untouchable...!!
Jax Are back after this concert he came out with the masterpiece that is ruminations and now has a new band/album with Phoebe Bridgers. Unstoppable even after two decades in the game.
I wish I could tell him how he's helped me through most all my life. How it's helping me currently. I've never loved an artist so much.
Same, I heard loved I don’t have to love when I was around 13 and it was the first time I realised music is also poetry, from that point on I’m wide awake was my favourite album it still is now years later
❤️
Dude yelling you saved my life made me cry so relatable ahaha shit mighta been me
Brilliant video, brilliant upload. Reminds me of his set in Munich a year or two ago
Thanks for the comment!
No faint heart can truly love this music.. maybe it's the other way around
Brilliant as usual!
This is great. Thank you for this.
+roxy031 thanks for watching!
I love this! So good!
A lot of these songs shine so much better live than on the studio versions. Double life particularly dropped my jaw. What a fucking beautiful song. Amazing performance. That simple lead riff on the slide is perfect.
thank you for uploading , Conor should be a religion 🙌💕✨
This is amazing! thank you so much
Thanks for watching!
Is it just me, or is “Lua” everyone’s favorite song of Conor’s? (It’s definitely mine... I mean, it’s iconic.) He almost always plays it for encore and it never isn’t the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. ❤️
I love it dearly but I actually find it to be the weaker track in Wide Awake
I've got so much attached to that song!
Lua is ok but Poison Oak live…..
its just you
Time forgot is amazing.
Thank you so much for this video!!! :)
+NK Thanks for watching! Appreciate the comment.
+WGBH Music The more I watch it the better it gets -- I just love this fuckin guy!
Brilliant!
love this, thank you x
+Trina turner Thanks for watching, Trina!
this. made me really sad its so beautiful
made me tear up but like you said , beautfiul 💕✨👍
Very Nice.
It's Conor fucking Oberst. Great musician in the great band Bright Eyes and frequent collaborator of one of my favorite artists, Phoebe Bridgers. And fucking Larkin Poe happens to be there too
rad
That lady is a slide guitar bad ass!
l love it
I love his voice shakiness, it’s the best part
Why is the guitar girl acting like the singer🤨 it’s sweet but distracting
Oh nvm lmao she’s a backup singer
those horns on lover i don't have to love...dear god
My wife and I saw him on this tour and they played "Hit the Switch" ❤️
25:10 and 27:10 most beautiful solo(s) I've ever heard in my life. Can listen to this over and over again. Thank you for this beautiful music.
Seven years later and this is still in my rotation--one of the great live performances of all time. Conor is so amazing, and knows how to put together the most amazing groups of people to play his music with him. (Saw him six weeks after this in Petaluma CA with M Ward and the Felice Brothers--then again a year later at the Fillmore. Never a dull show, ever.)
love this king. He s jut a king like Dylan was, like Cash Was, like Kings, he is one.
No, a talented human being, like you and me who tapped into it early. You can too. Pick up an instrument, any instrument and keep at it.
All my heros they're all talk....
im pretty sure im 100 of these views
great band
26:03 "If someone says they know for certain, they're selling something certainly." Think about that line a lot.
This version of If the Brakeman Turns My Way is awesome! Even better than the album version.
I seen Bright Eyes in Columbus Ohio on the Casadaga tour. Duel drummers. It was pretty fucking good.
22:18 "We're gonna do one more for ya"
*proceeds to play for an hour and a half

i hit like but i wanted to hit LOVE
That was tasty as hell
Haha, throwing the microphone in audience during Laura Laurent was a pretty funny move
As we leave Afghanistan....this one just becomes more real than ever.
Same
Landlocked blues 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺☺️☺️☺️✊✊✊✊🤟🤟🤟
Dood's one of us.
The audience singing during Laura Laurent sounds like St Dymphna's after last call. Like, the bar, not the song.
that was a good brakeman turns my way
Thank You so much for this amazing video! My endorphins were producing little earthquakes inside of my head! Is it possible to share the audio file, that we can listen to it on our mp3-players? many thanks!
+Rm Sn Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, no - we can't make the audio available for download. It'll be hear avail for streaming, though :)
