I just can't understand how 4kids felt the need to censor it. Yes, they were "naked", but they didn't have any privates. It's like censoring a Barbie doll.
Just use pink on Zoey, Blue on Corina, Green on Bridget, Yellow on Kiki, and Purple on Renee, and use those colors for censoring their nudity. On Sailor Moon, when they were naked, there was a colorful flash around them to censor their nudity. There's something about 4Kids.TV, it's safe 4 kids. Do you get the catch? It's like saying it's safe for kids. For Mew Mew Power Uncut, I think a different company will have to run that, like Pioneer, Funimation, or a different company. The 4Kids.TV company could not do One Piece Uncut, because 4Kids.TV had to make it safe for kids, or should I say safe 4 kids. Funimation could make One Piece Uncut, because a catch of for kids was not in their company name.

Mint and Zakuro's themes are my favorites in the original, and while not AS good as the original, these versions are pretty awesome too. Especially Mint/Corrina's.
That's my favorite character in the American version, but Bridget is my favorite character in the Japanese version, that is if Renee is lesbian like in the Japanese version. I read that she was lesbian-like in the Japanese version, and someone told me that Corina was lesbian in the Japanese version, but is unsure about Renee, but will look that up again. Berry only showed up in Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, and she was hated. I read that she was hated, because she was annoying. It's going to take alot more to annoy me, so I probably will like Berry after reading about her personality, and probably my favorite mew mew over all in the Japanese version.

I'm not getting at whether the dub was poor or not; I was getting at the fact that people are coming onto videos with "ENGLISH DUB" all up in the title, just to complain about how they've always hated it and thought it was shit.
Charli Johnston Yeah, it's wrong to do that. In my standpoint, all I am saying is that this Dub is a bit poor...well, REALLY poor. It is probably in the worst of the 4Kids dubs thanks to the fact that they were the most xenophobic here than they were with any other anime, as this one had lots of cultural differences than most of what they do. Like I said in one of my own comments on this video, this dub is poor; only because of the direction it got. They cut out too much for it to be truly enjoyable anymore. And I believe they did the 4Kids soundtrack change on it as well. As I also stated priorly, only those that grew up with it could really still enjoy it. I partially grew up with it, so I do not really hate it. But, comparing it to the original is like comparing an off-brand OREO to an original OREO itself, to name one light example. My opinion will probably be the most respectable you hear of the dub that is not just ranting on and on about it. But, it has a few moments, though unfortunately just as many bad ones to have any true redeemable qualities in it.

In English, there was a snippet cut out before she transformed. Mint says "We've found the fourth one." (This was changed to "He's giving the little begger a Power Pendant"). Then Ichigo says "Mew Pudding." That's when Pudding knows and does her transformation phrase "Mew Mew Pudding, Metamorphose!" This was changed to "Now I'm a Mew Mew!" In the original, transformation phrases come natural once the girl has the pendant but they don't know what they are until they're told.
I remember waking up early to watch this show before going to the Saturday math academy class at my middle school, and my mom would yell at me for watching TV so early. But it was worth it.
I really like the music for this the english dub! It just seems to fit them better :D I'm not a huge fan of their voices, it makes them sound a bit older than they should, but it's nothing I'm going to freak out over :P This is a cute show! I love all of it!

But now, anime seems to be cool just because it's Japanese and a lot of people don't like it being dubbed in English. It basically goes like this: 1: An English company buys the rights. 2: The Japanese give them all the original materials. 3: A translator of the English company gives the directors a translation of the show. 4: The English dubbers start making the show in English by altering the translation a bit to make it fit with the mouth movements. That's basically it except 4Kids makes their own story most of the time. They've gotten better with their dubs late though, like with Dinosaur King.

I can understand those who grew up with it to enjoy the dub more, but you'd have to be on something to say it had better acting than the original. The music change and voices make it sound overly cheesy. I see why this was canned, seeing as how they removed a lot of notable scenes as well. And any new fans of the anime would agree that the original voices and soundtrack fit in a whole lot better with the atmosphere of the anime.
The voices and dialogue were definitely better than the original, but I think some of the dub music is really good (the transformation themes, most notably)

In the original version it was only shown fully twice(in Episodes 5 and 16). The one in episode 5 was replaced with a group transformation to the Animal Instinct song and the one in episode 16 was cut all together. It was most likely due to the nudity that was shown.
I was glad to find this video. I miss Mew Mew Power. I have a weakness for magical girl anime and this show reminded me on some level of Sailor Moon. It's the same genre but a different way of doing it.

So she doesn't have a solo(by herself with no Animal Instinct or Supernatural song) transformation in the dub. Parts of her sequence are only shown in group transformations.

They have, you just need to look for it. Look for Wedding Peach transformation videos and you'll find them. People only compare shows like this to Sailor Moon because it's the first magical girl show they've most likely seen. I've even seen a few people compare Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne to Sailor Moon, which is weird. They mainly do it to shows with a groups of trasnforming girls. Except for PreCure 5. A lot of people compare that one to Tokyo Mew Mew due to the transformation phrase.
I've noticed something, in the english version for renee/zakuro, her attack doesn't have a name and when you pay close attention her wepon ( which was suppost to resemble a cross in the japanese version in my opinion of the original shape) the small yellow parts are shortened alot. Thus changing the shape of her wepon sort of.
There are 3 parts to a transformation. 1: The DNA sequence(which 4Kids cuts out on all 5 of them). 2: Them getting their Mew Mew Costumes(which 4Kids cut out half of Pudding/Kikki's) and animal ears and tail. 3: The Ending Poses(in which 4Kids cuts out Ichigo/Zoey and Mint/Corina's and part of Pudding/Kikki's). 4Kids never dubbed an full transformation for Lettuce/Bridget since most of the transformation had more detailed nudity than the others. They only showed parts in group transformations.
I watched this all the time when I was little, hoping to get my little sister into it too. (She keeps watching weird 3d animation rubbish so with any luck this is "sparkly" enough for her😂)
It's not just the name changes. 4Kids changed a lot of the original story, cut out at least 3 minutes of each episode(except for episode 13, which had about 5 minutes cut). And the character's personalities were changed. Even the very reason why the aliens were trying to take over Earth was changed. 4Kids also ignored the original script and made their own, which caused quite a few plot holes. And the fact that they only dubbed half the series is a good enough reason to watch the original.
"Strawberry Bell--Full Power"? Wow, congratulations, 4Kids. Your creativity astounds me. And Ryou became Elliot. Grrrrrrr.... I've still not forgiven them for that.

I was glad to find this video. I miss Mew Mew Power. I have a weakness for magical girl anime and this show reminded me on some level of Sailor Moon. It's the same genre but a different way of doing it.

One thing, a Finless Porpoise is a mammal. Not a fish. And to actually answer your question, 4Kids took her transformation out of the English version. So she doesn't have a solo(by herself with no Animal Instinct or Supernatural song) transformation in the dub. Parts of her sequence are only shown in group transformations.
They should have kept Zakuros music the same. That shredding guitar is awesome
Renee's English music reminds me of Monster High. I like that Monster High beat, except the music was not used in Monster High.

As I told people in other comments, 4Kids never made a solo transformation for Bridget(only parts of it are shown in group transformations). The full version for her was only shown twice in the original(episodes 5 and 16). The one in episode 5 was replaced with a group transformation and the one in 16 was cut out completely.
They have, you just need to look for it. Look for Wedding Peach transformation videos and you'll find them.
People only compare shows like this to Sailor Moon because it's the first magical girl show they've most likely seen. I've even seen a few people compare Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne to Sailor Moon, which is weird. They mainly do it to shows with a groups of trasnforming girls. Except for PreCure 5. A lot of people compare that one to Tokyo Mew Mew due to the transformation phrase.
I've noticed something, in the english version for renee/zakuro, her attack doesn't have a name and when you pay close attention her wepon ( which was suppost to resemble a cross in the japanese version in my opinion of the original shape) the small yellow parts are shortened alot. Thus changing the shape of her wepon sort of.
There are 3 parts to a transformation. 1: The DNA sequence(which 4Kids cuts out on all 5 of them). 2: Them getting their Mew Mew Costumes(which 4Kids cut out half of Pudding/Kikki's) and animal ears and tail. 3: The Ending Poses(in which 4Kids cuts out Ichigo/Zoey and Mint/Corina's and part of Pudding/Kikki's). 4Kids never dubbed an full transformation for Lettuce/Bridget since most of the transformation had more detailed nudity than the others. They only showed parts in group transformations.

I watched this all the time when I was little, hoping to get my little sister into it too. (She keeps watching weird 3d animation rubbish so with any luck this is "sparkly" enough for her😂)

It's not just the name changes. 4Kids changed a lot of the original story, cut out at least 3 minutes of each episode(except for episode 13, which had about 5 minutes cut). And the character's personalities were changed. Even the very reason why the aliens were trying to take over Earth was changed. 4Kids also ignored the original script and made their own, which caused quite a few plot holes. And the fact that they only dubbed half the series is a good enough reason to watch the original.

Her attack doesn't have a name in the English dub(unless you want to count her grunting XD).
The weapon name was only mentioned in the MMP promo video before the show aired. The English dub called it Purple Dagger.
