  • Today we look at the modularity of the Sig Sauer p365 xl Although the slides can be interchanged. If you only have the P365xl you can just purchase the p365 frame and swap the fire control group.

    It's the size of the grip that is usually the issue for concealability, not the length of the slide. So the smaller P365 grip is desirable. Meanwhile though, the XL's barrel is a full 0.6" longer giving significantly better terminal bullet effects, longer sight radius and less felt recoil, and is at least for me, highly desirable. I could easily see myself doing just what you showed us how to do in this video.

      100 %, short grip, long slide and XL trigger. maybe SAS pushers

    • @chrissinclair4442
      @chrissinclair4442 Před 3 lety +3

      If I wanted the performance of a longer barrel, I would get an aftermarket p365xl threaded barrel. You can use the p365xl threaded barrels in the p365. The only things more desirable in xl from factory is the flat face trigger and longer slide. I got the p365 after 1.1.21 so hopefully fully reliable and will test. The longer slide may just make it less snappy and possibly more durable with +p ammo. They also have p365 threaded barrels.

    I just did opposite and swapped my P365 with an XL frame. Will see which I like better when go to range. Obviously the XL will shoot little better I’m sure but little harder to conceal. The mags are interchangeable but you have to replace baseplates which sucks. Was hoping could just have mags ready for whichever frame I choose that day. Nope. Also I did flat short stroke trigger, spring kit, and titanium striker from M Carbo. I have about 3-3.5 Lb trigger and can’t wait to shoot it! The frame swap is easy and takes minute. The rest was far from easy! Especially that damn safety bar where attaches to take down lever. I had one hell of time getting it back right for some reason! I called that gun every name in the book. Lol. Finally got it though. I went with Armory Craft bronze for XL frame. They are in Florida like me and it looks killer with my black slide. Grip feels great too. Was like 150.00 so not cheapest one out there but I love it.

      Afraid to say but Glock will most likely never adopt the modularity that sig has developed. It would hit too deep in their pockets. I personally am loving the fact sig has the consumer and their wallet in mind with their latest releases. I just also hate that with this adaptation we the customers have to be the beta testers for sig.

    There was no good reason to make a new frame for the xl to begin with.
    They could have just used the same p365 frame (maybe add the beavertail) and just add the 15 round mags. The longer xl grip doesn't add anything, but it does eliminate the possibility of the smaller 10 round mag form factor for CC.

      We are a ridiculous bunch, aren't we?? Haha. This gun is annoying because the grip circumference is too small, and we don't like the 320 because the bore axis is too high, we don't like the Glock because we get slide bite, but we don't use the double stacks because they are too thick, we don't like the 1911 because it's low capacity, and we don't like the springfields because their 2a stance isn't up to snuff. But one thing is for sure ... we LOVE LOVE LOVE CZ's ... and we love spending $1000's of dollars upgrading our $500 Glocks ... for some reason ... gah .... did I cover everything?
