Still pretty amazing how much weight plays a factor . Redeye is 797 HP vs C7Z650 and they were pretty much neck and neck . With a tune and headers that Z would walk the Redeye . I have a Hellcat myself, itâs too bad Dodge couldnât make the car lighter . They make great power but thatâs all lost on them being so heavy
@@Balding1 dodge needs the Viper again. Their issue was poor daily driving comfort from the suspension and lack of sound dampening. A more insulated interior and better dialed in suspension settings would make it a great car, that and reducing msrp by a couple grand
@@Balding1 that redeye would walk the vette with a tune and pulley with those mods to the vette tho. The redeye makes 800whp with a simple tune and pulley

Iâm a Chevy guy but that is a beautiful Challenger, badass car. I think he jumped the 1st run but spun so it equaled out kinda. He just needs some better tires for sure. Still pretty good for the old Z with intake no tune. Like I said when he raced the AMG, trans tune would help, probably more than ecu tune since all he has is an intake. Good show AG, you put up some great races bro.
I wish before electric takes over for good that Chevy would make a 755 hp ZL1 and Dodge would make a Hellcat that weighs less than 3900 lbs, wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which one fills up faster lol

Can't stress enough the importance of removing those wicker bills on the C7Z's for low drag during these races. Had it been a stage 3 and results would have been very different.

no iâm pretty sure 5th and 6th gear are pretty long in the 8 speed. not the best gearing in those transmissions but if 5th was shorter it would have pulled harder on the Hellcat

Not many things are going to beat a zr1 in a straight line, unless you've got the meanest liter bikes or a McLaren 720s or faster. Now a race track, you better have a McLaren Senna or GT3 IMSA race car, because nothing shy of those have a good chance at beating it. The 911 GT2 RS tried but failed, the McLaren 765LT tried but failed. The AMG GT Black Series beat it by 250ms while on better cup 2 R compound tires while the ZR1 was in less grippy regular cup 2s, and the zr1 accidentally set that lap record time at VIR during testing
The Vette is making near the same power to weight ratio. The longer the race goes, the better for the Vette because the AREO will win at higher speeds. I think I saw that race..I was testing Akira that night
The Vette will have a worse time at higher speeds because the aero is built for downforce and that's drag. The Z06 can't reach 200mph whereas the Redeye can.

great matchup!! the regular narrow body redeyes are a good deal faster without those 305âs all the way around dragging it down
Having owned both (currently a 1000 wheel hp REWB HC Challenger), I'll take the added traction of the WB (which is best run with 315/35R20s instead of the 305's) and in my opinion, the much better looks of the WB, over the tiny aero advantage of the standard body car and the the pretty small 285's that come on it that. Those Pirelli 285's just get blown off the wheel at just about any speed if you go WOT without rolling into the throttle very carefully. The OEM Pirellis are garbage tires anyway, regardless of whether you get the AS or Summer tire version.

DAAAM, good sheet right here....Both cars dead even, the C7 did ever so slightly start to pull ahead once they got to around 130-140 or so. Keep em coming Brother, this IS the best racing channel on YT.

I've seen LT4's dyno at 555-560whp which is about expected with 15% loss. I don't think an intake with no tune is adding 40whp. Anyone seen different?
Thatâs about right. My dead stock C7Z picked up 30whp from just a CAI and no tune. Some folks see a little less, some see a little more. The intake makes a pretty solid difference in power for a change.
Yep intakes do wonders on C7 Z06's. That's because they come from factory with intake from base Stingray. Lol. Its a bottleneck on Z06. 30-40 rwhp gain is what i've seen

I have a C7 Z06 w this exact intake (AFE) and no tune but M7 gearbox. The intake made a very big difference. Noticeable easier engine breathing and more pull on the top end. 30whp is very possible
The stock intake on an LT4 is not restrictive enough to cost you 30 hp. So the gains you're seeing over stock are at least partly due to MAF calibrations being off. That means your car is running leaner and more timing (more power, until you detonate). GM E92 ECUs have both a fuel learning and ignition learning function (every time you get knock the ECU will increment towards its low octane timing tables), so if you don't tune for your intake those gains will probably go away, at least partially, over time.

The A8 is garbage stock but it can be tuned & its a great transmission after but still not as good as the 10spd. IMO you buy a Z06 over a GT500 for the manual tho.

It's the Corvette's gearing. 1-6 are geats designed for track performance in mind, while 7th is much longer but still good for performance and 8th is purely a cruising gear for the claimed 29mpg
I love the look of hellcats, but man I just wish they weren't so damn heavy. If dodge could some how find a way to make them about 4-500 pounds lighter from the factory, then they would be pretty untouchable against other stock cars like it's self.
with the current platform, nearly impossible since itâs so damn heavy and old! Only thing they can try might be fiberglass for all body? Maybe lighter wheels and rear seats delete? But if they switch to new platform and keep that hellcat(not gonna happen I think), maybe optional awd, it would be a beast that can seriously compete with supercar.
Dodge could have given them a forged aluminum block cast iron blocks are 20 year old tech.

Full blown supercharged race car vs American Muscle car. I guess it's not fair to race a Dodge Viper because they clap vette cheeks too easily. This was actually a good race for the stock Redeye.

this Z06 runs like that of a tuned car, would like to see this z06 vs the silver z06 with intake and headers. C7z moves but they aren't beating a redeye stock vs stock.
It runs very strong but it's not tuned. I remember when he picked up the car from chevy bone stock with warranty. It runs real strong. Always had even b4 the intake. He's doing fbo in a few months with a tune.

Autoglory stated stock no TUNE only mod is intake!. A stock Redeye makes 797hp -10% drive train loss 717 I've seen from 715whp to 720's. C7Z06 640hp -10% drive train loss 570's plus intake 30whp so 600whp. So Redeye still makes 115whp to 120whp more than C7Z06. Its weight 922lbs more than C7Z06 that's deference. Power to ratio in favor of Z06. So many people don't factor in weight. That why 20 yr old civic with k20 motor TT awd destroy Redeyes and Hellcats I've seen them beat Tesla S Plead.đ€·ââïž
