- Today, the 24th, marks the 25th anniversary of Freddie's passing. This was the last single released shortly before his death and it's hauntingly beautiful both musically and lyrically. If you have a chance, look up the acapella version and listen to what is the voice of a dying man. You'll hear why many regard him as the best rock singer of all time as well as the best performer and songwriter of all time too. He is greatly missed.
Brian May shows some incredible melodic work on this track. It is again an example of why I think he is suitably the 'king' of the guitar solo. There's no real guitar until the first chorus, so like with my Breakthru cover, I start from there. :) - Hudba

Thanks, I think I just got lucky I guess. I've got quite a cleanish distortion with a compressor on it to squeeze out the sustain.

Yep, I use it for the distortion and compression too.
@@bwm5150 where do you use your chorus, in front of the amp of after ? Your sound is huge!
All the effects are from the Boss before I go into my Palmer 'Junction' speaker sim and from that I record direct into my computer. The chorus I use is a stereo setting but my signal stays mono. I think that helps make it sound bigger.
@@bwm5150 hi, thank you, but can you tell me if in the ME50, the chorus is placed before or after the amp sim in your preset ?
I don't use the Boss for the amp sim, the amp sim is the Palmer. Everything in the Boss is before the Palmer. I'm not sure how the Boss organises it's effects but I'm sure with the ones I use it goes Compressor - Distortion - Chorus - Delay.

Cheers! Unfortunately I don't. I learned by ear and I used a CZcams vid that just had the guitar tracks isolated so that helped with some subtleties.

I have an old equipment video which has my settings in the description. Basically a half gain distortion with a compressor on to squeeze out the sustain. Then I add plenty of reverb, chorus and delay when it suits. Those settings change depending on the song. :)
