  • Hi all,
    In todays Plant Species Spotlight I want to show you how to successfully grow and propaate S. Repens / Staurogyne Repens.
    S Repens is a great foreground to midground plant that can give a nice bright green colour and interesting bushy texture to your aquarium, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
    Enjoy!

    Love this plant, have it in 3 of my tanks. I keep it short. It all started from 1 tissue culture and as its grown I've just moved cuttings to another tank. My sons even attached his to drift wood and its doing great. They are all low tech tanks.

    I have a fluval 3.0 plant light for my 15 gallon fluval flex what should my light setting be for Staurogyne Repens ?

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  Před rokem

    Hi, right now its been almost 2 weeks i started cycling my planted tank. My s repens started to melt..i had a total of 8 stems planted in the tank, it is very slowly spreading to other stems. It seems that all the leaves melting except for the top young leaves (they still melt kinda halfway), i did try to remove one of them but the roots are growing so i planted it back. I didnt put any kind of fertilizer and i use aquasoil as substrate. My question is how did this happened?? Is it different water parameter from the store or lack in nutrient??, Should i cut of the melted leaves??

      @tamingguppies Před rokem

      I guess you brought them non submerge they have to adjust into the water parameters they might melt because its now submerge into the water

    I started with a DSM, all of my S.Repens were doing great. But after two weeks of flooding I started loosing all the leaves. Is there any chance that these will grow back or is it a lost cause ?

      Mystery snails do eat plants every now and then. Have to really feed lots of veg to keep them distracted
