Thanks for the reaction. Lalisa is a really fun song with a great beat and showcases a lot of Lisa's versatility. There are a lot of humorous things in it that are often missed on the first viewing, like when she appears with the police. If you look at their uniforms, they actually says "polisa". Then she transitions from the "polisa" scene to the "pole Lisa" scene.
As for BP members' input in songs, my view is that any great performing artist has input and contributes to making a song/production into what it is by performing it, even if they don't write everything or even much at all themselves. (For example, it would be silly to say that Whitney Houston didn't count as an "artist" just because she didn't write her own songs or to say that Pavarotti wasn't an "artist" because he "only" performed well-known operatic classics and didn't write his own songs.) In many cases, a song's success or failure often depends as much or more on what the performing artist does with it and how they interpret it, than with the basics of its composition and lyrics. That's why many very talented songwriters who aren't particularly great performers will hope and pray to get a top performer to do one of their songs. And, in many cases, excellent songwriters get their inspiration by imagining a particular performing artist doing a song that they want to write for that artist.
YG (the company that produces and manages for Blackpink) has an excellent crew/stable of producers and songwriters who are primarily responsible for the composing and overall lyrics. (And Teddy Park is the chief producer for BP in managing the overall production process.) In a song like this, Lisa may have been involved in contributing some ideas for the lyrics. She certainly was involved in developing the concept of the song and is credited especially for the main concepts of the "Thai" segment of the music video and song (the part where she sits on the throne and wears gold).
YG is relatively conservative in giving writing credits, so most often the BP members don't get listed for composition and lyrics credits, even though there are often rumors about them actually having contributed significantly. Some other companies look for excuses to give their performers credit for almost anything, like if the performer burps in a recording session and they leave it in the final recording because it blends with the bass well...credit. There are some major pop stars I often wonder about...when the pop star's name is almost ALWAYS included in the credits, along with a standard team of about 7 or 8 other people. With YG, you have to wonder in the opposite direction. Given their very conservative approach, how many contributions by the group memberrs are not given proper attribution?

Great reaction. Not sure how much input she had other than she demanded the Thai section (where she wears the traditional Thai crown), which is most people's favorite part of the MV. She often customizes her own raps even when someone else writes the original version.

So this is a type of classical music called ethnomusic. Basically the beat is made from traditional classical thai instruments. That is why it sounds different and funky. It is an homage to her heritage.

As to the other members solo songs, you really can't go wrong with any of them, they are all really great. Rose wrote most of her lyrics for her two songs. I believe Jennie wrote her rap lyrics. Lisa is my bias, but Jisoo is the underdog I am cheering for the most. Jisoo was basically ignored by Blackpink's own fans the first few years. And when you have Lisa and Jennie going off with bad ass raps, while Rose having her Pop perfect voice, it was hard to get noticed. Jisoo has always had the fewest face time and lines in BP music videos. But Jisoo has come to the forefront in 2023, with a number of standout performances in BP's latest Album (e.g., Happiest Girl) and Jisoo has exploded in popularity with her solo Flower. Guess whose solo album has sold the most. Nope, not Lisa with great songs like Lalisa and Money, not Rose with great songs like OTG and Gone, not Jennie with Solo. It is Jisoo, with the most album sales by ANY female solo Kpop artist EVER. It's Jisoo's Flower music video that has the most views of ANY kpop song in 2023 (male or female, group or solo). It is Jisoo who has been ranked as number 1 in South Korean brand rankings for most of 2023 among all female Kpop Idols. Jisoo is my bias off-stage (Lisa on-stage), very humble, very funny, with a streak of savage. Blackpink really is a group of 4 superstars.
