In this video I make a titanium bottle opener ...starting with raw 1/2" thick titanium plate ...all the way through to finished, functioning bottle opener.

Fantastic video, I really enjoyed it, the best project i have watched in a long time. Thank you so much. Your honesty about the 20 failures is part of the quality of this video.

60 hrs research and development is pretty reasonable for a new product and considering how long you've been working with the CNC mill, it's amazing. Now you just need one more fixture so you can engrave MAGNUS across the side of it.

This shows me that hard working is key to success. Even though you failed but you tried and tried until you reached at your final destination. Awesome job

Oh Magnus, it is so fantastic to have you back! This video was amazing. I love the new music and the editing was once again "On Point". That bottle opener looks brilliant, I just love the realism at the end showing all the mistakes and how you got there. Thanks again for sharing and it is great to have you back.

Hey Magnus...great work, I enjoy watching your videos. As a Machinist myself, you should try using a thicker blank, forget the water jet, machine the profile and the through holes put on your chamfers. Then turn the part over machine to thickness add your chamfers and the part is done in two operations.
Hope this helps, Cheers from Canada.

While Titanium is not the metal that it is propagate for (there are Steels harder than Titanium) it is still a beautiful metal. Especially the feeling, it is nice to hold such a light and still rigid metal in your hands.

Cheers Magnus! Part turned out awesome! So nice to see you come clean with all the mishaps and failed attempts. So tired of seeing guys pretend everything just works on the first try! lol. Reality is, most machinists will make overruns to accommodate for all the little glitches that show up during setup, programming and running the first few parts of a new job.
    Bravo!
By the way, I'd really be interested in seeing more videos like this from you. Been a while since your Scotzeland accent has been on the tube!

Mangus, What a cool video. 60 hours is a lot of work! But that #21 opener is beautiful! Love the look with the final 45 degree chamfer/edge. 2 Questions: 1) How long would it take you to make another now that you have the forms and settings made? 2) If some of your 20 "prototypes" still open a beer, would your sell/part with one? I wish I had your skill and dedication.

Good to see you back "doing Titanium" on youtube! For once, i liked the music (at least that at the beginning) - probably not easy to get music that you can use on youtube for free, but i liked that folksy tunes way more than what's later in this video and what was on many videos before.
Bottle Opener looks nice, though it seems a bit of overkill on material for the job, e.g. i have this one www.kickstarter.com/projects/carterjames/truss-the-minimalist-bottle-opener which is tiny but works really well. The one you made here - even if you manage to drastically reduce production time - would probably cost a fortune?
By the way - in case you don't know what to make next - what about some nice Ti cutlery? There is some on the market, but all seems to be made just for camping, very light and a bit flimsy - what about some real kitchen cutlery made out of Titanium?
    Keep up the great work!

YOU NEED TO UPDATE PEOPLE ON PRODUCTS WE PAID FOR 7 MONTHS AGO!!! THE SPINNER COMMUNITY THAT PAID HIGH DOLLAR HAVE BEEN LEFT HANGING!!! PLEASE MAGNUS! IM PERSONALLY AT THE END OF MY PATIENCE. YOU MADE PROMISES AND HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THROUGH! ALL WE'RE ASKING FOR IS A SINPLE UPDATE! YOU SAID THEY WERE DONE 45 DAYS AGO AND YOU WERE WAITING ON "SLEEVES" FOR THE BAMBOO CASES. THEN ZERO CONTACT. MANY HAVE EMAILED YOU WITH NO RESPONSE. IS THIS HOW YOU RUN YOUR BUSINESS? THIS IS NOT IMPOSSIBLY HIGH STANDARDS!!
