During difficult and dark times, we often feel an overwhelming sense of isolation, as if the weight of our struggles is ours alone to bear. In these moments, it's important to recognise that authenticity and genuine openness can act as a beacon, guiding us towards a network of support we may not have realised was there.
Authenticity acts as a lantern, revealing people who stand ready to share the weight of our struggles. When we bravely show our true selves, including our vulnerabilities, we uncover an unseen tapestry of connections, woven with threads of support, kindness, and understanding. And in being our true selves, we invite others to join us in navigating the difficulties of life, transforming our solitary journey into a shared path illuminated by the warmth of human connection.

Many months ago I tripped upon the CZcams video and Amanda stopped me in my tracks. I recall her saying: “It’s like camping,” her tears evident, trying to see the good in a very grave situation. Her spirit took my breath away and broke my heart all at once. “Please Seattle, save this soul,” I recall thinking. I have thought about her many times since then…so to find Amanda here was such a surprise and like a wish granted. She is my distant neighbor, just 3 hours drive. But her story is that of so many across the West Coast and this country. Hers is a powerful, soft, voice that reminds us that we just need two wishes: strength and for everyone’s basics needs to be met. That’s it. She is a poet… a teacher for us all.
Beautifully said. I must say that I felt similar when I saw the first video some months ago. Housing needs to be made available for everyone. I could have been Amanda - I had a similar childhood - abuse and dissociation - I survived, but it cost me. I‘m so happy to see that she’s in a good place.
Optimism has gotten me more screwed than pessimism.
Anyways I feel everyone deserves housing. It's shameful that rather than seeing homelessness as an indication of an unsupportive cruel society...the individual is ostracized.

As a trauma survivor I've learned that "Self-compassion is the antidote to shame and self-care a confirmation that we are worthy, lovable, cherished." Looking at this woman walking on the beach with her dog, it would be so easy to cast a quick judgment and assume she has had such a simple happy life, with no significant worries, no significant stresses. But to understand she chooses happiness, despite the pain and suffering she has been through is absolutely beautiful.
How important it is for us not to cast judgment on one another, and assume no one understands you or what you went through. How important it is to look into one another, rather than at one another. You never know what that person has to share with you.
If there was no darkness we would not need to be light, but once we choose light, it becomes a beacon to others who need to see it.

I needed to see this today!! I too am homeless. I grow with a father who was a sociopath, rapists....moved to many times to count as a child. So many schools.....I am so happy she is in a place of beauty, peace , and love. That is my hope for myself and all those who are in my situation.. ..love to you all.❤

This one really hit home as I have been unhoused for a year after my landlord sold the condo I was renting. If I could make a wish, I would hope she would read some of Marshall Vian Summers’ works. I think she might understand it. For me his work has been a life saver through my years of homelessness and healing from my trauma. Now safe, but I can so resonate with this story. Amanda Richer is an incredibly strong woman! There are no words to describe how she managed to not let the childhood trauma and the street poison her soul and spirit ... not to let them turn her golden heart into a lifeless stone. I experienced a period of homelessness. I was in Alaska & sold belongings to buy an old camper. My 2 big dogs, a cat & I drove from AK to Washington. I stayed in Port Townsend & Sequim (as I'd never lived near the ocean). It was beautiful. Eventually I had to sell the camper, one dog died, the cat ran away & I ended up living in a beat up tiny car with a tent in the trunk. It was a huge life experience! What a POWERFUL testimony! Wow! Amanda could have easily turned into drugs, alcohol, committed suicide or continued living on the streets. Yet, she chose to go to the light, to see the positive, to focus on the beautiful! This is the key in any situation, focusing on the love, on the beautiful on the positive. No matter how horrific our circumstances are, looking for the good, dreaming of love will ALWAYS get us out of it and, even more important, it will always be an awakening experience. It won't be fast or easy, but it will always be a tremendous life-changing experience forever making our lives better in every way. Amanda knows, sees and is aware of so much more than an average person because to wait, live and hope, she had to reach within and hear within and learn the truth of LOVE that is in us all.
Thank you, Amanda, so, so very much for being so very brave. Living on the streets has always been my greatest fear. Yet, you did it and victoriously overcame your horrific start in life.

I couldn't remember her name, only the incredible light she shone despite living in a dire situation. And her she pops up in my YT feed! And I am assured she is doing well. Prayers answered. This video is perfect timing. I’m in France without a home, belongings here and in storage in Alaska, having to continue to turn to the Divine, knowing that the perfect home and life are ready but just haven’t become visible yet. So, am strengthening my faith (knowing who and what I am) and raising my consciousness. I created this from my ego impulses, and now must ask for the Divine Life to take over and do Its Lovework instead. All of us are on this journey back to Source, and all of us can also reach out to offer support and love to eachother, as she says. Be a light to ourselves and to the world. Blessings to us all!
