The world definitely needs more people like that. Family members who stand up for and support each other, and stay true to sacred oaths they make to protect the people they’ve sworn to protect, whether they’re an officer of the law sworn to protect and serve the community, or a civilian who’s made a promise to be loyal, supportive, compassionate, and honest to their family, be that an oath to have all those things in marriage, parenthood, even adoption. When I was a kid, I thought I would pursue the path to become a police officer when I grew up. I saw it as pretty much the closest thing to being a superhero like lots of kids dreamed because they were supposed to be the ones to bring bad guys to justice. But thanks to racist cops like this and officers who commit all kinds of awful crimes overall abusing their power, I chose a different path in the arts because of how trust in the police has been badly damaged. At least as an artist/writer, I can use my creative talents to help call attention to various causes to fight for justice and help those in need.
I love how this police chief confronted these two racist cops. They were accusing his wife of threatening them because she answered the door. Love how he fired both cops. There was no misunderstanding. They were exercising the power they felt they had as law enforcement and their racist hate.
Well to be fair, the women behave in a way that would any officer no matter what the skin colour. The friend started with a non-cooperative question, "What is it you are suggesting?" What she should have said was, "I don't know him, plus I don't even live here. I'm sorry I can't help you." And then the next round of responses from both women, "What do you mean you people?" "You don't tell me what to do, this is my property," and "You are stupid and illiterate," those are inappropriate responses, it will make you look suspicious and be grounds to be hauled in for questioning or threatening an officer. They don't know her husband is their boss. Lastly, I'm sure when they admitted they wouldn't suspect a white person responding to their questions like that, they cracked under pressure and said what he wanted to hear.
