In Preparation for the release of the live action film. Which is getting released on February 26th, and in celebration of Tom and Jerry's Anniversary. I'm reviewing a Tom and Jerry related product that nobody remembers/even knows, The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show...... and to be honest. i see exactly why nobody cares about or even remembers the show, as i find it to be the worst of the Tom and Jerry shows that use slapstick. and Here's Why

if you guys are wondering why the intro music has been changed at the beginning of this video, its because i got copyright claimed out of nowhere for the intro music. when its been almost 2 years, and nothing was claimed on the video until recently. when i got a claim for the intro music, which i used for nearly 4 years at that point. until i changed my OC Avatar, and a specific CZcamsr i showed in the intro card wanted to be taken out........... even though not a lot of people even remember him
an ex friend that i cut contact with in 2021 told me in 2016 that the song used doesn't contain any copyright, and i found that song on a channel named 'Non-Copyrighted sounds'. but thats apparently untrue now -_-
I’m getting Vietnam styled PTSD flashbacks of the Larriva Eleven when I hear the same repeated music in this show. And you’re right with the music. It feels like an alien invasion scene in another cartoon although the music fits perfectly in Invasion Of The Mouse Snatchers.
I’ll never understand why Boomerang likes to play these particular shorts.
@puffyhairedghost2415I guess so. They also like playing the particular shorts from the 1975 Tom and Jerry show because they also think that they’re the classic shorts for some weird reason too. However I still want the rest of the used to be HBO Max exclusive Looney Tunes theatrical shorts like One Froggy Evening, Operation Rabbit, The 3 Little Bops, The Honey Mousers, ETC in a volume called Looney Tunes: The Lost Episodes. I also want Cow And Chicken (With I Am Weasel Being The Second Part Of The Show) and the Pink Panther (1964-1980) on there. I sent Boomerang a message and they haven’t wrote their response. Thanks for nothing Boomerang. I guess.
This review was great, I didn't know anything about this Tom & Jerry Comedy Show thing until you told me about it months ago. It's funny to know that this show isn't on par with the original and it's very weak on slapstick.

17:48 Tom didn’t do anything to Jerry in The Plaid Baron Strikes Again. He was sleeping until Jerry kept flying his plane just to bug Tom. he did it 3 more times until Tom decide to chases him off.
i actually forgot that it even happened in that episode. i was mostly referring to Tom getting punished for messing around with spike's modeled airplane. in terms of Tom getting punished for an atleast good reason
So i retract what i said about The Plaid Baron Strikes Back Again having Tom do something to Jerry first
Fun Fact: Hanna Barbera and Filmation were main competitors at the time when this show was made. I wonder if Sesame Workshop/The Jim Henson Company and Spiffy Pictures were competitors in the early and mid 2000s.
The reason for certain episodes showing unfinished animation is due to frame overscan being more visible on current HDTV's, you have to remember these cartoons were made back in the 70's for viewing on older CRTV's in which the animation cel was slightly cropped to fit square TV's so basically on an HDTV you're viewing the whole frame.
I think Spike in the Droopy Segments are meant to be the Spike from the Original Shorts (The one who Once Plan to Kill Droopy out of his Inheritance).
This is a very well put together review.
It should really have more views.
What's funny is that today is the first time in years that I was thinking about the various incarnations of Tom and Jerry and I happen to come across a video that has been made this recently.
This show is something else btw, this is stuff of nightmares 😂
Other than the Orginal(which I consider to be masterful) all are either mediocre or bad, though with the exception of Tom and Jerry Comedy show (and maybe the 1975 one) all have atleast some redeeming features.
Out of the rest(besides the original) I prefer Chuck Jones' work because given his unfathomable talent, his stuff indeed brought some refreshing elements to the table though not all of them fit Tom and Jerry. Tom and Jerry Tales is not too bad but extremely bland(I think you gave it too much credit here) for my taste.
The animation quality of the Tom and Jerry comedy show was freaking awful and terrible, and before you said this: well the show was made in the “1980s” what did you expect. Please don’t because that is not an excuse, especially when you consider the fact that the original Tom and Jerry shorts were made in the 1950s and 1940s yet they had FAR BETTER animation quality than that abomination for a show! So there was LITERALLY NO excuse for making the quality this bad. LET THAT SINK IN you know for a fact something went wrong when the quality of a show from the 1940s is FAR SUPERIOR than a show made in the 1980s!!!
This is true, but the difference is those 40s/50s shorts were made for Cinema and had a much higher budget. The 80s era of cartoons still had most of the same problems of the 60s and 70s cartoons since television animation had still yet to reach a very high bar.
Speaking of Garfield And Friends, it has opening gags just like Jack’s Big Music Show and The Simpsons. Oh. And seasons 1-3 of American Dad too. Note: Garfield And Friends was the first show to do this type of gag.

Yeah...This is the reason why you don't let a company with a notoriously low budget like Filmation handle something like Tom And Jerry…
Let’s not forget that Filmation did the same thing with Looney Tunes too in the special where Daffy and Porky meet the Groovie Ghoulies. It has the same problems as The Tom And Jerry Comedy Show.
1:04 Episode 14 is the rarest episode in this series and is hard to find.
I feel like Boomerang should remove The Tom And Jerry Comedy Show’s episodes (Maybe) along with The 1975 Tom And Jerry Show’s episodes now that they’re on Tubi and replace them with the rest of the Looney Tunes theatrical shorts (The Ones That Used To Be Exclusive To HBO Max) and The Pink Panther (1964-1980). Edit: I asked One Up Filmz this question if Boomerang should do this and he said he doesn’t want anything to be removed so I guess Boomerang should add the used to be HBO Max exclusive Looney Tunes episodes along with The Pink Panther (1964-1980) on their app and keep those 2 dumpster fires of Tom And Jerry shows.

Haha this version was so weird. The music was the epitome hyjinx. The intro was wonky, I remember the bear was on the floor spazzing out with a bucket of paint on his head while this circular text spun around him hahaha

Pasta Obesity talked about the Tom And Jerry segments from this show but not the Droopy + other MGM character segments because he thinks talking about them was very depressing. However you did him a favor here by talking about the Droopy segments.

i might go ahead and rewatch all those for future reviews, however. at the moment I'm preparing for a few other reviews that i have ideas for first, one. i got the script done for, which is for a review on Teacher's Pet. and another is for a review on a show that I'm currently marathoning in preparation for a review - Kuu Kuu Harajuku
I did quite enjoy Farewell, Sweet Mouse and Snow Brawl in particular.

I enjoy some episodes in the show such as Most Wanted Cat, Invasion of the Mouse Snatchers, New Mouse in the Hpuse, Pied Piper Puss, and A Connecticut Mouse in King Arthur’s court.

After a period of gestation, this short brought Tom and Jerry kicking and screaming (and smashing) their way into the year 1980 and into the hearts of children young and old. Back for their slapstick antagonism after a quasi- hiatus in 1975, Tom and Jerry are reinvigorated with a vim and vigor without bounds beyond Filmation's budgetary constraints.
Farewell Sweet Mouse was just a launching pad. New Mouse in the house was the real deal. Now, Filmation coud sip the sweet nectars of success that such a property brings. Albeit of a limited and more bitter variety. First, they got their paws upon Looney Tunes and then Tom and Jerry. What's more, they have had their own successes with stuff they created such as He Man and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. Hats off to an underrated studio!
@@jacobstaggs3100 at first the series was decent with the first episodes but starting with the infamous episode Heavy Booking in the second episode really did ruined this series.
@@redgreenproductions6158 For the most part this is correct but after Heavy Booking, the episodes Snow Brawl. Cat in the Fiddle, and Spike's Birthday are all good cartoons.

@@Garyfan2001 It was good. Nobody ever review this show besides you. Tom and Jerry comedy show doesn't look amusing to me. Reused animation is repetitive. That's my thoughts on this 1980's show by filmation.
The strange part is All classic Tom and Jerry shorts got blocked by Warner Brothers on CZcams, but not Tom and Jerry Comedy Show.

This show is from CBS. Remember Saturday morning and Afternoon cartoon shows in the 1980's? Kids was coming home from school and watch their favorite cartoon.
yeah, i remember. this cartoon is from a time way before Cartoons had their home Networks for Channel's made for Kids, even though i was born in 2001. when Cartoon Channels were around

I personally love The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show, please don't bash my opinion and do personal attacks. In my opinion, to be honest, the show doesn't feel bad to me, despite the recycled animation and limited soundtrack. Sure, the original shorts had more fluid animation, but this has nostalgic value for me, as I used to watch this show alongside the original MGM shorts, Tom and Jerry Kids, Tom and Jerry Tales and The Tom and Jerry Show (2014) back in 2015 and 2016.

Bro, it's William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, not Hanna Barbera and Joseph Barbera. Hanna Barbera was the animation studio, and the name was just both of their last names.
I know. There's someone who pointed that out to me when the video initially came out, and I said that I'll not make that error again
The animation of this show is awful even by the 80s standards and even by Filmation standards, it just stinks all around. There's no defense.
The animation is especially terrible because of the fact that there are even frames in the show that aren't even finished. and can even be seen by any casual viewer, even when they aren't paying attention to the animation
3:27 - Actually the Gene Deitch shorts were very funny. Especially with the SFX and the fact that these episodes were made in Czechoslovakia.
Rotoscoping was not an unusual method used in making cartoons but Filmation was way way over the top with this and it showed on Tom and Jerry.

Welp. Here’s proof that not everything will be released on DVD or Blu Ray. The people who are saying “This is why you should support home video releases” (Yes. It’s back when HBO Max made the dumb decision to remove 250 episodes of Looney Tunes.) are wrong. Not every show is going to be on DVD, VHS or Blu Ray.
Though, there are some shows that I would like to see get a full complete series release in the future. Such as Camp Lazlo and OK KO, so that people could have somewhere else to watch them other than Hulu or the Boomerang app

The Tom & Jerry Show 1975 is NOT bad, like nowhere near as bad as so many people said, i'm telling you this right now.
I know this because i have watch the entire show when i was a kid and as someone who despise Tom & Jerry (and pretty much every single cartoon that does the exact same thing over & over & over again) it was a breath of fresh air that did something different with this god damn franchise.
Sure they are some bad episodes, but there are nowhere near as bad as very infamous bad episodes of Tom & Jerry

nobody is even talking about you anymore. so i'm not sure that it's going to really matter at all, and i haven't updated my intro yet. because the video editor i have right now isn't able to do text with good enough transitions to update it at the moment
i tried updating the intro, but i found out that the transitions were not on par with what i did when i edited the transitions on power director. so i'm going to be continuing using the intro until someone is able to make 7 different fanmade intro cards for me, specifically. with Supersonicward. although, i hope you don't mind. no hard feelings

Well, that's Phlegmation for you! It's like you mentioned, their cartoons are very, very infamous and notorious for their atrociously cheap cartoons. The only productions from them that are worth watching are He-Man and She-Ra. Their Zorro cartoon also counts since it was the only notable time they outsourced production, this time to TMS, resulting in better quality animation. Everything else is either unbearable or hard to sit through. Especially the use of an out of place laugh track (yes, I mean it).
You thought the Tom and Jerry Comedy Show is bad, eh? Maybe you should've seen how Phlegmation handled the Looney Tunes with their crossover TV movie. Imagine the Warner Bros.-Seven Arts cartoons with an even lower budget and an out of place laugh track. It's very atrocious to the point where Warner Bros. has to literally make fun of it on an episode of Animaniacs, in the hilarious form of Obese Orson. Especially this line:
"We can't, Ors! We are only limited to 3 new scenes of animation per show! And we use them to get here!" 😆
how come the 80s have limitations in making cartoons ??? they already made the greatest original tom & jerry in the 40s & 50s .. Walt Disney they made snow white & mickey mouse in the 60s .. when the 80s came .. people was already having computers & they made freaking terminator movies .. yet your telling me they were not capable of handling a few cartoon episodes ??? i wouldn't blame the 80s or limitations because there's no such a thing if they was willing to do it .. i blame the lazy cheap company & the lake of talents
