DIY expert, Sarah Gunn, creates a beautiful wood bead chandelier to mimic one she saw in store that retailed for over $500. This DIY costs a fraction of the price!
What a steal at "around $120"..... nope... You can make this for far less: $10, including tax, for the pendant light kit (if you don't already have a pendant fixture to attach your creation to), a lamp shade you have already ("free") OR a wire trash can from $ Tree ($1 + tax), twine of desired diameter (thicker will totally remove "need" for the wooden hoop) (cost depends on if you have on hand or where you buy it, but you could use a spool of twine from $ Tree for a buck), then a multi bag of plain wooden beads from JoAnn Fabric on sale for $6.99 + tax. You can paint it white with $1 white spray paint or use 50 cent bottles of acrylic paints from WM if you want multiple colors or what to hand paint the white. $20 plus the paint. The metal round piece the lamp kit suspends through can be made with a wire hanger (or a piece of wire from a wreath form from $ Tree) pretty easily if your shade does not have one.
I think it would also look great with the natural color.
