    In this video I breakdown the actual / real recording template chris brown and his engineer teezio uses to record his vocals. I go over the mic chris brown uses, the pre amp chris brown uses, and the compressor chris brown uses. Once I document chris browns entire recording chain I go through the legitimate template he uses to record chris brown.

    just in case anyone wants to know how the CL1B works: What he explains is not what fixed/manual on a CL1B does. fixed-man has the attack time of the fixed setting which is 1ms. and the release is variable as in manual mode. it is not a blend. in fixed manual the attack knob doesn't do anything.

      False. The attack actually still dictates how long until the fixed kicks in. I just learned this from the manual. In fixed mode it's 1ms, but at full attack, it's like the opposite of a lookahead to let the constants through.

    • @NorthernSkiesMusic
      @NorthernSkiesMusic Před 2 lety +17

      @@geraldbarbato8800 I think maybe you should take a look at manual again when you have a chance. I am talking strictlly about the hardware. I have no idea about the plugin. Maybe that has extra features that the hsrdware does not. I have owned and used this unit daily for over 20 years. Although, I am human and could be wrong...as humans often are. But this information is clearly stated in the manual under the attack and release section. Take a look again if you have time. I use fixed/manual a lot....and my attack knob doesn't seem to do anything in this mode. Cheers.

I'm not sure how I can relate the levels he is setting for his Neve to my Scarlette 2i2. Is that 30-45 level he is setting on his Neve basically the equivalent to how much I turn the gain knob on my Scarlette 2i2 preamp? If not, then what am I not understanding? And if so, then what if setting my gain knob between those ranges doesn't equate to a 70-80% vocal volume on the meter? How do I get it to? Thanks & hope you can clear up some confusion for me!

    • @breezyoakk

      The neve Level is most certainly not equivalent to your scarlett interface. Just stick to what he said about hitting the meter 70-80%. Turn the gain on your scarlett accordingly in order to hit your meter in a similar fashion. The main thing to keep an eye on is not to exceed 0dB (clipping) and you’re good.

    Whats the Diference between the vocal stacks and the harmonies? Aren't they the same?

    • @kensmechanicalaffair
      @kensmechanicalaffair Před rokem +1

      One is unison or a double of the exact same part(usually), of course harmonies are different notes that are stacked for a huge sound(sometimes).
