Before writing and publishing any binocular review, I thoroughly research, test, and use the instrument in my office as well as out in the field. I also conduct comprehensive comparisons between the binoculars under review with a number of benchmark binoculars in both good and bad light conditions.

Hi, thank you for the great review. On your page you list the 14x50 with the same dimensions as the 16x42.
But the kite website states 250mmx150mm for the 50s.
Can you confirm that the 50s have the same size as the 42s?
And another question. How effective is the IS on the 18x50 compared to the 14x50. I would assume noticeable more shaking on the 18x50.
I bought these 18x50 and they are amazing, do you have a harness bag you would recommend since they are so large?

No expert here, but anything above x15 is quite niche to use

Hi Jason, how do you think this 14x50 Kite would compare to the Fujinon TSX1440? They are for marine use. I like the 6 degrees stabilisation on the Fujinons, and they have just been heavily discounted with extra $150 online cashback, but they seem a bit heavy for continued use on a rocky boat? Cheers
I just bought the Kite Optics APC 18x50 Stabilized ED Binoculars (Li-Ion version), for Astronomy purposes (I ain't no birder or hunter! 😅).
Btw-what do you think? Are they good for Astronomy in your view?

Yes for sure you can take photos/videos through these - check out my video shorts, I recently uploaded one using the APC 18x50 for digibinning - I am currently testing a new adapter from Move Shoot Move called the tridapter that I am very impressed with, but also have others that would recommend - www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/binocular-accessories.php
Their stabilization is definitely another level experience but when stabilization is on, there is light leak from led on right barrel. It shows like green blur when observing at night. I held it was for first batch and it is fixed for next production but fixed version is going to be available at October so I would assume your unit will suffer from same issue. They are going to fix it when you send the unit to them under warranty for sure. I just sent them mine and will see how it goes

Can you comment on the eye relief of the 18x version please? At 15.5mm it’s probably not enough for me, as a glasses wearer. How did you find them?
Yes, at 15.5mm, it is on the cusp for me - so I have just rechecked with my glasses and by fully twisting down the cups I can see the full Image, but it is close - different shapes of faces and glasses will all need different amounts. If you are worried either find somewhere where you can try them first (difficult) or Choose the 14x50 version that has an 18mm Eye Relief which is excellent. Yup, I agree, these are not the ideal travel binoculars for sure unless you specifically need IS and willing to take up most of the space in your hand luggage! ;-) As in life, nothing is perfect and there are always compromises.
