    Great job. I love that tank. I just got My dolphins put in their own 110 tank. Your video of them just swimming is done really well and your edits are fantastic

    I have use aragonite sand in my 3 African cichlid tanks. They all range between 7.4 to 7.6. Any ideas? Love the dolphins, btw.

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! I may be missing some of your message. If you're asking how to raise pH, I would suggest crushed coral if aragonite isn't sufficient. Or even reconsidering if you need to raise pH. But aragonite should get it higher, so I wonder if you've had it in the tank long enough. TBH, I don't have to mess with my water for that, so not a ton of experience.

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! I have no problems with the Lemon Jakes. I have 5 males and 3 females in here. Not a great ratio, but seems to work. They're peaceful compared to some other fish in the tank.

    I want to keep 2 dolphin cichlids with 4 oscars. all growing from early stages. I wonder if the oscars growth spurt will affect the combination

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 2 lety +1

      Dolphins are pretty fast and aggressive so I think they could hold their own against a bigger Oscar. I might actually worry for the Oscar. I myself wouldn't keep Africans with an Oscar, but I've seen it done!

    Do you think I can keep a few in a 55 gal?

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 2 lety

      You could raise several in a 55g for some time. Maybe up to 2 years. But unfortunately I would not recommend keeping Blue Dolphins in a 55g long term. They get too big and active.

    Do they get along with ob cichlids or just having them in a tank with just blue dolphin and no other cichlids

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi! They get along great with OBs and most other Africans that aren't too small. But they're still cichlids, so you'll need to watch for aggression. Best wishes.

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi! I would not put any BD's in a 150 liter tank. They grow too large. A good blue Malawian for a 40g could be the Metriaclima fainzilberi.

    Even though it’s an affrican cichlid do you think their personality could deal with American cichlids?

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  Před 2 lety +1

      They tend to be more aggressive towards other blue fish. If you put a few of them with non-blue Americans, in a good size tank, I think it could work. I say could...I can't promise anything. :)

    • @Riffwaters
