I'm impressed. I had written off getting the Hubsan Mini Pro since it seems to have many issues, but this one is on my list. I'll wait to see how the Autel Nano performs and take the plunge.

This may be the best Hubsan yet! I would recommend this to a new flyer or someone wanting a good small form factor travel drone.

I drank the DJI coolaid and paid $1500 for a DJI mavic pro for my vacation to Nantucket last year. DJI made the whole island a GEO zone/No fly zone. Couldnt take off without FAA approval which I couldnt get. No vacation pics, no video and I had to carry the damn thing all the way there and home. Done with DJI. I bought this drone and I can fly anywhere, anytime and no registration required and DJI cant record my flight data and turn it over to the government. DJI video may be a touch better but if you cant get the thing in the air, does it really matter? Love this drone and bought it because of this review. Thanks Man

As a photographer, having a canopy like clouds is a good thing. You look just fine. If you want to tweak the color in post you can. You would have a worst time seeing your phone screen if it was a cloudless day.

As to the weather where you are, Steve, Ottawa must have a different climate than Toronto. I lived in Toronto for a couple of years back in 1967-69, and my overall impression was lots of clear weather, even during the winter. Obviously it rained and snowed and so on, but I loved the climate. One memory I had of the area was someone saying that that area of Ontario (that juts down to Michigan and New York) has the nickname "Banana Belt". So perhaps the climate _is_ better down there.
Normally we get a few sunny days in during the week, but the last two weeks have been cloud and rain every day.

Exactly the kind of weather we have been having in the UK, about as much chance of seeing sunshine as I have a PS5,, the minnie's are good drones and they seem to be able to handle the wind pretty well. Still love my hubsan zino + thoe.
This drone almost looks better than the pro mode in many ways. It seems like a really good drone!
Yup, given the price difference, seems better using SE given longer battery time and that object avoidance isn't necessary if you are flying well (esp. since it doesn't avoid side impacts)
You must be One of the Ten Testers Hubsan sent out units to. Retail units are on hold for an undisclosed amount of time at the moment Great overview (again) ... they seem to have took notice of K.I.S.S. 😁

Many thanks for a very useful 'no frills' review! My first drone was a Hubsan 501, and I have a (much loved!) Fimi A3 at the moment, but even though I have Article 16 cover (so I can fly up to 30 m from people in recreational areas) I'm still very limited by UK regulations. The HD camera is pretty good, but more would be nice, and a realistic flight time of 15 minutes or so is pretty limiting. So I've been looking at sub 250g drones. And this one is REALLY interesting! Nice price, I'm used to flying without obstacle avoidance, the camera seems excellent and the flight time is awesome! I guess it'll be next year before they are readily available in the UK, but that gives Hubsan time to do their firmware tweaks if any are needed. Only problem is I don't have a smart phone! But my venerable 'dumb' phone is starting to show its age, so .... roll on 2022!
I started with a Eachine £23 job, now bugs 16.The pics on the Eachine came out amazingly better when I swopped to a 5g phone. Cant believe what I can do with the E58, v short range though.

I drank the DJI coolaid like you and have had 4 of them including at present, a Mavic Pro and Spark which have both become paper weights because of the No Fly Zones/Geo zones. Nearest Airport is 8 Miles away and still wont let me fly without FAA approval. F DJI and hello Hubsan

Wow, what a good drone
I ordered mine today, from banggood...i just cant wait to get it....i am thinking to put some flotors under propelers for safe landing on water, by accident...i want to get it when i go with my stand up paddle on water, to make some videos and pictures with me, paddling...the splash one is way too expensive for me, in my poor country..even SE is so expensive, but i did some big sacrifices and ordered this today....i hope to not regret the choice :) .
I couldn't wait for the dji mini3.. I bought this one.
It just blows my mind how much better the camera is on the SE compared to the PRO! No over heating and cheaper too.

It's so tempting. I'd like to see how those batteries hold up over time though. My original zino and zino pro both fell from the sky due to sudden battery failure. I had a hubsan fpv drone that almost caught on fire the first time I connected the battery.
So just be aware of the history of battery issues with hubsan. Otherwise they are good drones usually.

Looks nice. Their website states it only comes with one battery unless you tic the box for two. 435 one battery, 485 with two batteries. That second battery is kind of pricey.

It might be using a different image sensor chip. The ZMP’s camera has improved quite a bit in my opinion. But yes, the video looks really good on the SE version.
Well, sensor used in pro version does have huge potential (it's possible that it's even better than air2s) but hubsan has no clue how to code proper firmware
