- David Goggins is a Navy Seal who is attempting to break the world record for the most pull ups in 24 hours (shooting for 4,020 reps). He tried in September on the Today Show but had to stop short of the goal because of a faulty pull up bar.
Runs 3 miles on his 10 minute break
I really burst out laughing reading that xD

Just 9 minutes bro. He took 10
If you think this guy is great because of his pull ups you need to research his backround and where he came from. That is the real accomplishment.
Tom Sawyer yes.
He is quite possibly the hardest dude in the world. Went thru SEAL hell week 3x and passed twice. Once with a fractured foot. Lost 106lbs in 90 days to even be given a chance at being a SEAL. And ran 100 miles in 24 hrs with the last 19 miles on a fractured foot. Dude is the epitome of mind over matter. He is living proof that you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to. This guy is what a role model should be. Not some 6'10 guy that can dunk a ball or a thug mumbling negative shit over beats on auto-tune.

Like a year ago there were a bunch of fatasses judging his form that couldn’t do 5 pull ups if they had a gun pointed at them.

A good rep is a good rep. It does not matter who you are, it does not matter where you came from. Those are not complete reps and should not be counted. All of the world record fitness attempts are nonsense.
This guy is no-doubt the closest anyone will be to "superpowers". His story, drive and desire to push the human body to the limit and the fact that he has served his country for 20+ years is just crazy, give this man a medal!

If there's anything to be learned here, it's the fact that if you really set your mind to something, you can SMASH records. David Goggins is a perfect example of what is possible IF you really want something. He's not trying to lift some insane weight, he's trying to accomplish something that very few people are willing to do. We need more people in the world that do what he does.
Record? What record? Not a single pull up was done here.
@@JohnSmith-ct5jd I think there’s different qualifications for what a pull up record is. Getting your chin above the bar with your hands on the bar and using your body weight. Regardless if they’re CrossFit pull-ups to do 4 thousand is insane.

After reading his book and seeing videos of his accomplishments is nothing short of amazing. The fact he finally broke the record on his 3rd attempt is insane
Technically, he hasn´t even done a single pull up. In a correctly executed pull up the lower bottom of the chin reaches over the upper surface of the bar, which he never did.

I think he was techniquely
In a pull-up, the chin must clear the bar. Oh wait, but this is Crossfit.
his chin goes above the bar, pause the video
He never cleared the bar on the way up. When I went through boot camp in San Diego, I was told by the DI that my chin had to come up OVER the bar in order for the pullup to count. Do the Navy SEALS have different rules than the Marines?
