Why do we need to call that number before harvesting?
To make sure it's safe for consumption. They monitor the demoic acid levels in shellfish and if it's too high it becomes unsafe to eat and can possibly cause paralytic shellfish poisoning.
@@OutdoorChefLife Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning sounds...paralyzing
Because this people are weak they need her mom ass where ever they go. Mom I'm sick huhuhuhu ignorant human
@@JunreyPuerinVlogs lol tf u talking about? So since u dont need ur mommy u just eat shellfish whenever u want? Lol smart guy
Luis Sanchez Dude thinks he can just ignore paralysis caused by shellfish poisoning and it won’t affect him. That’s Darwinism in its purest form. 😂
Thanks for always bringing up the differences between legal and illegal harvesting, and also making sure people stay safe and respectful after watching your videos. You are a prime example of someone living out his passion. Good work Taku!
“Harvested these eggs from... Trader Joe’s”
Lmao
I died when I heard that 😂😂😂

You’re channel is seriously good.
Hands Down favorite youtuber past 4 months
What I love about fisherman/adventurer content creators is how you guys are learned & respectful with rules & regulations but go about it in such a chill way. You guys are sending out the right message. Good on ya.
Mad respect for you. The best foraging channel on youtube. Keep it up
Taku... take 4 guests out to forage, cook the foraged meal. Bam thats a 3 michelin star experience baby $$$. This one looked so good dude!
Thanks dude! You tryin to go eat some sand crabs this weekend?
LOL are you serious? I'm down, I can do Saturday morning and Sunday morning @@OutdoorChefLife
I would pay $50 to do this. And I know at least two others that would as well.
And I would be driving from the Sacramento area.
If you do this like once a month w 6-10 people, with a website where people could pay in advance for a reserved slot, I know your reputation could make you SF famous.
But no matter what you do with that, keep letting us into your incredible experience
Nice!! That ramen looks so great! Now, I'm hungry :(
Eating instant ramen while watching this made the eating experience a couple thousand times better. Keep up the good work bro!
Nice vid bro. I am a ramen freak. To the point that I buy mussels frozen on the half shell. Keep in the freezer . And I chop bell pepper and greens, keep them in ziplock bags in the freezer. And I usually keep some fishcake in the fridge. Just so on weekends I can make home made seafood ramen. I’ll even get crazy sometimes and toss the oil boiled dehydrated noddles that come with Topramen packs and replace with glass or rice noodles. I wish I lived near some clean beaches so I could take it to the next level like you do.
I love ramen. Man that broth must’ve been out of this world. Fresh noodles, great toppings, what I wouldn’t give to have been there and tried that bowl!
I lived on ramen in college. Making good fresh ramen with fresh seafood would be the gold standard! YOur videos get better and better.
There’s something so satisfying about seeing the process of preparing food from start to finish, especially when harvesting is involved. Love the content man 👍🏼
I always thought of ramen as something that needed hours of prep to make. This looks so tasty and simple!
Vid really makes me wanna go outside more often.
Everytime I watch ur videos, I end up learning something new. Keep up the hard work!

Knife is Life...I love the foraging videos!
Congrats on the success on the channel! I've watched it grow rapidly recently.
Just saw you on Fisherman’s Life. Another sub and greetings from Thornton Colorado. Grew up in Monterey Bay and moving back to NorCal soon. Can’t wait to chow down. Great content. I am former Executive Chef and now pilot instructor at major airline. This is awesome and I love it. I grew up with the Asian community. My parents were German and I was only white kid with a rice cooker lol!!!
Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy watching your videos.
I haven’t even watched the video yet. I just read the title and I am so excited. Just thought I would put that out there. I love ur vids!!
I love your videos they're actually extremely entertaining keep up the good work 👍
I'm so jealous. Fresh seafood right in your backyard.
You make the seafood look so good presenting it in an inviting way..to feast on.
Just found your channel man and I love the videos. Very cool to see you utilizing the the bounty the ocean has to offer in a very simple, but beautiful way. Looking forward to more videos. Maybe I'll see you out there one day.
RAMEN flows through my veins. I love your vids mate. Keep them going.
Great mention on flipping/replacing each rock back exactly as it was found. I explain this to children as rock or log (when looking for land critters) "motels"- many different organisms use this microhabitat as a home.
"If I was a giant and I took off the roof of your house, picked you up and looked at you, put you back, but didn't put your roof back, what would happen when it rains? When it snows? When it gets really sunny?"
That's a good analogy!
Good way to live life! Try to leave it as you find it! "Knife is Life"
Foraging on the beautiful pacific coast . Gotta love the Bay Areas coast line . Damn and that Ramen looks so fire .... Great video 🔥 🍜 🐚

You full on crimped those limpets off!! Nice, love ramen!!
It was awesome foraging with you man!
Cool stuff, here at home we call those limpits 0pihi and those were some nice yellow ones you picked, Hawaiian gold is pricey and can be dangerous to pick. The way you guys were slurping that ramen made it look and sound so good!
@jimsurfnfish 808
I noticed the opihi as well,n was thinking,"damn! There must b a lot there." Anyways good vid, good food, good times.
I cant even begin to imagine how fresh that would taste! Love these videos!

Mine too!!
Just discovered your channel I was looking for stuff to do in Berkeley because my daughter just moved up there from LA.
I really enjoy fishing and cooking my catch of the day. Great content
I would not at all be surprised that the snails are edible. I had a big bowl of 3 different kinds along with some mussels at a seaside cafe in Brittany, France, called "Fruit de Mar" (Fruit of the Sea). It was all steamed and had a sauce of butter and a really tart white wine with maybe some tarragon. You ate them using a little metal pick with which you plucked out the snails from the shells. It was amazing.
Ahhhh looks so oishi 🤤 keep up the good work Taku!!
great video. I want to be there eating with you guys. Nice, chill vibe. Thanks for uploading.
That Limpet pick was really impressive actually! Never actually seen anyone do that!

@Outdoor Chef Life. Love the videos! Thank you for sharing this valuable info. I'm From Los Angeles any good suggestions for down here? Does a regular fishing license cover foraging?
Hey Taku,
Great videos, and learning so much from your "never gonna eat any of that in my life.........damn kinda looks good videos" Just bought a place in Aptos, need to hook up for some Perch Tacos...LOL
Beautiful RAMEN bowls!
Looks amazing!! Love the channel 👍 about to check out Alex now. Stay safe and thanks for the awesome vids😎🍻
Great video yet again Taku, well done. We have very large mussels (Horse Mussels) in our part of the world, but they are not as good to eat as our common blue mussels and they only live totally submerged in offshore reefs. It's striking how there are so many similarities between the fauna in all the temperate areas of the world. My next video will be about releasing 3 lobsters carrying eggs from captivity back into the wild (should be published by the weekend ). Thanks for sharing again Taku, regards Craig
Yeah you're right, very interesting! Looking forward to your video!! Thank you for watching as usual!
Pretty sure I say a comment earlier where Taku gives you props! "Knife is Life"
Great videos man.. Please more catch and sushi.. Fan from Philippines..
Another great one my brotha ✌️😎👍
Damn taku your channel is growing ! Love & peace 😊
Love ramen , love your videos
Good stuff bradda!
You should look at buying a mag dump pouch basically the same as these foldable buckets if you line it with a plastic bag and you can put it on your belt or molle system so you dont have to hold it.
Watching your vids for a long time now you and your girl is amazing. Anyway fish for tilapia and cook it! Lol just want to see how you going to cook it lol
I’ve done it. When I was in Thailand in December
