Jeeps can be rebuilt, but friends and family can't. Thankful everyone is okay and looking forward to watching Ben make a rig of his own!
Everyone needs to keep fact in mind when on the American highways. More than 100 people are killed on the American highways each and every day of the year...more than 100!!!
💯 I agree, 💩 happens everyday. People don't realize we're all dying. The question is how when and where..
Ben can drive
@@archieletsyouknow5508 I have seen a few tailgates like that but they did not have the safety pin in the latch and another one I think they used the 2 inch ball and not the 2 5/16 ball ,, maybe Ben's ball hitch could be worn down under size or out of round ??
@@randytravis3998 💯🤔 I say worn hitch. Happened to me on my little trailer and I don't even haul as much as they do. Cheap material nowadays everything's a disposable lighter👊🏼
Says something big, that a ‘rat comes home from a wreck, and immediately gets a hug from Mom…. THIS is the love upon which the family is built…. And why I keep watching… You guys rock ❤
That's his mom!
I agree wholeheartedly!
Ben - I’m glad that you survived that incident. The look on Grandma Lollie’s face… she sure loves her kids so much & she was very upset. It was a sweet moment; and I appreciate that you included it in this episode.
Ben, I'm sorry that happened but there's nobody I have more confidence in than Fab Rats to make it right.
F
Sorry for your loss Ben. But as far as the beeper goes if you can get close to Matt and drop it off in the back of his car I think that would absolutely drive Matt crazy
he would go on vacation 🤣until Trevor found it
Brilliant!
“Sorry for your loss”😂😂😂 What do you plan to say when one of his family members dies?
The love mom has for her favorite son comes through as sh is standing next to Ben’s truck as he drives it into the yard really shows. Glad no one got hurt.
Well that and the, "Darn, I thought I was done with that kind of thing with the sons." look
Sorry about Ben's misfortune and I'm glad he survived it. When the dust settles, the boys need to determine what failed and share it with us so we all can avoid catastrophes. Thank you.
I am in the twin cities, MN and was out grocery shopping yesterday and saw someone with a fab rats hat and thought it was pretty cool to see more fans out in the world.
Man that sucks Ben, I’m glad you’re okay. But your attitude is genuinely inspiring! Thanks for being such a great guy and addition to this channel. Cheers!
Lucky it didn't swerve into oncoming traffic
Their poor mum was having trouble keeping it together, bless her heart. She's tough as they come, but when of your boys and your favourite grandson (was he in the truck?) come that close to serious injury, any mum is going be damp around her eyes. So glad it was just stuff and not people that were all chewed up, but you did a pretty good job of it Ben. Can you really rebuild that Jeep?
Sorry Ben, that sucks. Glad you’re ok and have the ability to fix things.
The FJ40's came with a heater in the back from the factory. Yours looks like it will be better than they were. Glad that Ben is OK.
Ben has such a good attitude. I’m not sure I would be so positive after wrecking my rig like that. Ben is the man!!
Seriously. Dude's just like "oopsies"
If you pulled on the ball and said, “It ain’t going nowhere,” you wouldn’t have had this problem. Really, though, glad you’re okay!
Happy to see you alright brother! We love our rides but at the end you can always replace it, can't replace a family member
Good to see Ben 's sense of humor intact.... as well as the rest of him. It just give you guys another project we all get to watch
That's the way to deal with personal disaster. Make the best of it. No freaking out, yelling, screaming. Just being thankful no one was hurt or killed. Things can be repaired or replaced.
Glad to see Ben is OK. Having a strong and loving family and friends close makes all the difference. Can’t wait to see what y’all do with that rig.
Damn , Ben is very lucky that it did not take your pickup with it when it went over!
Thankful that Ben is ok. He’s the best part of the channel! Material things can always be rebuilt and replaced. You guys will have Ben an updated rebuilt jeep in no time. America🇺🇸
Man I'm so happy you're ok Ben. This could have been so much worse. I hope your rebuild is a great experience and a great result
Oh Ben! I'm so glad you're safe. I know Grandma Lollie was scared just looking at that. You boys are the reason her hair is gray, lol I am thankful, that could have been so much worse. We just couldn't have replaced Ben. I mean it when I say stay safe and GOD bless!
If you guys need anything we are here for y’all! Just shoot us a message and we will help! Glad everyone is okay and safe! Love you all and let us know! Always wanna help rebuild!
5:50 VERY good point!! ... And so awesome everyone can be lighthearted about the bent up, wrecked trailer, and jeep, and truck tailgate! "Stuff" can always be replaced!
PLUS it makes it a bit easier knowing you have the tools and knowhow to fix literally anything on a vehicle or trailer :) ... Sorry to see the stuff wrecked but happy no one got hurt! :)
Michelle, this comment is for you specifically. I really love the channel, the content, the family and the cleanliness of it. You keep the videos under 30 minutes which is very important to me. I have no idea the amount of time you spend editing but THANK-YOU! I'm not looking for anything free, lol. One more thing, how about a way to send pictures in to show everywhere the FabRats shirt is worn, vacations, restaurants, church?
Again, thanks
They have an Instagram account, so it wouldn't be hard for them to showcase pics there.
I did that for a bit with my business. I gave out shirts and told people to show me where it got worn. One guy went on a trip to Germany and snapped a pic wearing a shirt. It was fun doing it.
Ben has a great attitude!! Even in the midst of trials and disappointment, he has a smile!!! Keep it up you guys!!
LOL he had plenty of time for crying before the cameras got turned on
Legend has it that all of Ben’s 10mm sized tools are still on the side of the road
I'm so glad that Ben is okay and that no one was hurt. I also really like watching brothers get along and working together! You guys rock! Thanks for the great intertainment!
Scary!😦 it could have been way worse. Glad you are okay Ben!
The best part is nobody got hurt and that’s what really matters blessed you are!
Hats off to guys for being good guys.and playing out side the box
Off-road people are about the only ones that look at a bad break or bad wreck as a chance to build something better. I sure am glad Ben is okay. That must have been a wicked wreck.
Don't bitch about bad luck, you guys are living an amazing life and have great family around you to do it.
I am glad that Ben is ok. I miss rock crawling I sort of live crawling vicariously through you You and the rest of the various crews. Matt's Off Road, Bleepin Jeep, R.A.D etc. I hope to come and visit your store and shop this coming summer. Thanks for your quality content and work to make entertainment and education for us all
I am very happy that nobody got hurt during that highway mishap. I love the chirpy thingy . You all be safe and have fun fun fun !
Really enjoy your brotherly pranks... & Hats off tho Michelle, who cranks out this FabRats channel! 👨🔧😎🎉🌮
Glad Ben's okay.
The ol' "Annoying PCB", one of the great classic gag props. You can literally drive someone crazy with one of those.
Dangit man! Y'all need to make a series building Ben's keep. That way he can be back wheeling in no time. That is a huge bummer but Ben has a great attitude about it. He has made this channel even better! So help the guy get back on the road!
Ben has definitely made this channel even better!
Happy to see your smiling face Ben , the ride can be fixed , brothers can't be replaced !
Omg Ben I am so happy that you are okay and nobody else got hurt. Years ago a friends wife was killed by a trailer that came loose, crossed the median and hit them head on. It's a scary thing and you must have had a guardian angel watching over you. Can't wait to watch you rebuild the Jeep. God bless yinz all
Glad you are alight!
On a side thought, I want to say Grandma is awesome. I love when she just shows up. I’m also pretty sure I recently saw her give Hunter the bird and say he’s #1 LOL. I love it
It's nice of Ben to provide future content for your channel with his Jeep.
Nice! All the thoughts and prayers comments are killing me. Drama gets views!
glad to see hes moving around after a wreck like that sending prayers and good vibes
He was in the tow rig. He says so in the video. The jeep was on the trailer which disconnected and rolled. Thats why he is fine.
I think what they mean, is in that situation, the trailer could have easily pulled the pickup right off the road and flipped it also. Which is why I prefer to always have a rollbar in the pickup, also.
Not saying this was the case here, but sometimes guys put a 2" ball into a 2-5/16" coupler which will separate. I don't think he did that here, but possibly the coupler was bent internally or out of adjustment or something that just let it be just loose enough to slide up and off?
@@scubasteve7946 All valid points for sure.
@@Bobbywolf64 oh man, our neighbor literally did this same thing by our driveway about a month ago. Luckily the trailer didn't flip, but he was sure embarrassed 😳
So glad Ben's disaster wasn't injury involved. Trailer towing can be real scary sometimes. Sorry about your jeep. But on the flip side I see a new Ben build coming up.
Glad to see that no one died in that accident. I saw this happen to a Jeep Wrangler on the interstate in a rain storm. It seems to be Jeeps with good articulation of the suspension. There is a God that takes care of fools and small children. He is still taking care of me today at age 72. Carry On.
Glad Ben is ok. Those things can happen, I'd check my trailer ball for wear. And the trailer coupler also. Now we need a gofund me to help replace the jeepy. 🤔
😉
Glad you're OK, Ben, and that nobody else was hurt.
Glad Ben is okay! Sucks too see this kind of thing happening, but it could've been much worse!
Thankful that you are unscathed Ben. You know we all drive down the road, pulling trailers and not - sometimes bad stuff happens. Glad that it was just mechanical damages.
Glad Ben is ok. Trailer wrecks are so scary. A while back, I had a 16ft flatbed start swaying on the interstate, it put me into a concrete wall and flipped my truck.
Yikes! Did you have trailer brakes?
@@randallsmerna384 I did, but at the time I didn't know about trailer braking or tongue weight. Got a hard fast lesson.
😮 Glad everyone is safe. A friends new trailer had a cast piece in the trailer’s hitch. The manufacturer had bought all or made all couplers to 2 5/16 hitche standard and had installed a simple (permanent) cast insert to make their lighter car haulers 2” ball compatible (trailer stamped 2"). Luckily this one that failed fractured - broke and fell out as I was hooking up. It looks like Ben’s triple ball hitch is in 2” mode.
Great point !
Glad Ben is okay and no one got hurt. Really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work. Just ordered a t shirt and a hat. Can't wait to get them and keeping my fingers crossed I win the car.
Ben is so chill, he wads his Jeep and trailer up on the way to Trail Hero and it’s just like no biggie.
He still has a smile on his face, so glad he is ok👍😎
He was on his way to Paul's to prep the jeep for trail hero
Crikey Ben, that looked terrifying. I love the way you two just take disasters in your stride.
So thankful Ben is okay! Brother's & Sister's, God is sooooo good! Amen
Glad to see Ben is alive and well. Take care and thanks for sharing.
Poor Ben, it broke my heart seeing his Jeep all twisted up like that, but it’ll give us another build to watch. Bigger, better, badder!
So glad Ben wasn’t injured. Sorry for the jeep. I’ve heard of several people who’s hitch came loose and still hitched. I’ve never had it happen to me but that’s one reason I went to a gooseneck. I did change to bulldog hitches before gooseneck’s. Again thanks Michelle for the great video.
I glad Ben's ok, it's funny when Moms playing around on camera Ben does it 3 seconds later. Ben should build a Yota also. Because Pauls is so bad ass. How's Randall? Please stay safe!
Glad the trailer mishap wasn't worse! So thankful Ben is OK and only material stuff was damaged. Excited to see what Ben finds and decides to build. Also I thought the rule of thumb for a small block Chevy was if it leaks oil it still has some in it. When it stops it's time to add 6 quarts. Thank you for taking us wheeling along with you!
That rule of thumb was started by Harley-Davidson back in the early 1900s
Ben sorry for your loss. TYJ you were not hurt. Bigger better jeep is in your future!
family rally time. y'all got everyone's support!
Awh! His mama sure loves him. Glad you’re okay Ben, like everyone has said vehicles and trailers are replaceable, you aren’t brotha! Can’t wait to see the build
Wow, Ben, glad everyone is okay. As bad as it seems, that could have been a lot worse!
That FJ is one heck of a rig. I hope you guys can build Ben something almost as good. Can't be out doing Paul...lol.
Suggestion: Put something in the shop and allot the proceeds to Ben's new ride. Love to help him get a new rig goin.
Ben, we’re just happy you’re ok. And now we get to see the new build.
Dang, sorry to hear about the Jeep, Ben!! So glad that you are okay and can just rebuild a Jeep and not yourself. Must have been a wild ride. Grandma Lolly looked so upset, broke my heart, but, I know deep down, she is also very grateful. Stay safe Cox family.
Glad Ben is OK. Excited to see the rig you guys build for him
ben im glad you are ok this remind me one time i was pulling a car with a dolly and it came off the ball it was so scarry but my car and the truck and my self came out of that with out a scratch so i cant imagine what it felt to see your jeep and trailer all over the road. im gladd no one got hurt in the accident take care and thank the lord because he was on your side the hole time
Goes to show that accidents can truly happen to anyone, even the most experienced people aren't immune.
Glad everyone is okay.
Glad Ben is OK. Really lucky the truck didn’t flip. I hid a bell under my brother’s truck. Drove him nuts for about 2 months. 🤣
Wow! Glad that it's only vehicles that got damaged! Crazy bad things happen when trailers come loose. A few years ago, someone was killed by a large BBQ pit coming loose.
Aww poor Ben, I'm glad you didn't get hurt though. You better give your momma an extra big cuddle, she was upset 🥺❤
Morning all from Siesta Key Florida
Quartz sand with a beautiful location I'm not mad I'm jealous 😄
Oh my! Ben, I'm so glad you're OK! The Jeep will be better than ever when you're done with it!
Oh no! Just glad no one was hurt. Glad you are ok Ben.
Glad you are ok Ben very crazy situation can’t wait to see what you build
I would think mounting it to the roll bar in back would offer better heat exchange I mounted one in that area and it worked out great
Agreed underneath on the frame is a waste
Glad you're okay, Ben! Sorry about the trailer and jeep. Need a t-shirt to help fund that re-build! Let's go, @Fab Rats!!!
Brother,I'm so glad to see you're alright after seeing the pictures... before I got my spine hurt, for yrs I was a firefighter at lake of the Ozarks & I've cleaned up a many people who were not so lucky... the Lord was with you on that one brother...I know from experience, your mom's going to be needing extra hugs from you for a while... take care everyone
You guys have the best out look on things 👍. Love the content 👍
Glad you're okay Ben. Just gives you something else to play with and make bigger and better.
Referencing the mention of putting grease on the fuel tank grommet: Maybe a little helpful info - Whenever you want to lubricate rubber, don't use grease. It's a chemistry thing. "like dissolves like". So if it's grommets, tire beads, anything rubber, use soap. Grease will, over time, cause more trouble by eating away at the rubber. Hope this helps someone out who is unaware.
Glad your still standing dude, let’s the fans know what they can do to help
Holy Smokes! Definitely one of those chit happens moments. Appreciate each day and don't take things for granted.
YAY!!!!
I think Fab Rats should do a special merch and / or donation campaign to fund Ben a new Jeep - he deserves it!
Wowzer Ben! You are your own demolition derby! Just glad you were not injured. Stay safe there man.
this is why properly load balancing a trailer is so important
I'm sure it had trailer brakes but I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to have a big panic button that a driver can hit that would immediately lock up the trailer brakes and if that would make a difference???
In my head, it would seem that if the trailer breaks got locked up everything went straighten up in a jiffy.
Also, this is a great reason to put much heavier duty safety chains on trailers.
Those chains are often so small and so weak that they always break. Make sure you get some hardened, heavy duty, large link chains and replace those cheap ones.
Id call it a hell of a lot of good luck and Gods Grace, you didn't hurt or kill anyone else on that highway!
‘I had my safety glasses on!!…..” 😂😂
Glad you’re ok!
Yoo
Yoo are 1st!!!! YAY!!!!
Nice save, +1 to the wheelman. Glad all are safe.
Just a thought on the heating problem. I had a small block Chevy 302 that just would not stay cool. I finally pulled it out and disassembled it. After measuring cylinder wall thickness with an echo device I found what we called, "Core Shift". When the block was originally machined it was not set in the machine correctly leaving two cylinders with thin walls. Boring it oversize had just made the problem worse. Back in the day it was common knowledge that only 1 out of 3 283 ci blocks could be bored .125 over. Good luck and stay safe.
Awe Ben, I am so sorry about your Jeep. Glad your okay. Time to build the Jeep of your dreams!
Ben, I am so glad that you are ok. So sorry about your Jeep and Trailer but I know you and Paul well enough to know that you will fix better then before. So glad that you are ok!!!!!
Add roll bars for the kids seats. Avoid a tragedy. Love you guys!
Good grief! I'm so glad that Ben is OK after all that. It's pretty scary how you can go from running down the highway to total chaos in a split second.
I had the same happen to me, the trailer w/ a snowball stand came off and my truck became light, when i looked back, the trailer was doin 55 mph as i hit the brakes, the chain broke and the trailer and stand shot past me and hit a tree on side of road..We got blessed no cars or people were in its way, and it rode about 100 ft alone before wrecking
Whew!
So grateful no one was hurt in that mess.
Thank goodness you are good Ben. So sorry your wheelin trip was screwed. Like others have said, the jeep can be rebuilt YOU cannot. Prayers to keep you safe.
