I am a german content creator talking primarily about anxiety and i am surprised, how much chronic pain and chronic anxiety have in common, when it comes to the "tools" for overcoming them. I dont get why your channel has "only" 21800 subs. This is pure gold!

Thank you @mindeed. Yes, anxiety and pain are BOTH created by a brain perceiving danger. Thus, the solution is the same for both. I appreciate the comment.

Re the no of subs, (which is rising I see!) I find people are almost always wary of this concept, maybe because they do not want to own their problems, accept they actually have the ability to heal themselves with some sustained inner work..that in fact there is nothing to heal, just to teach...I dont know but I never get why people dont grab this process with both hands.....it explains si many health issues.

This resonated so much for me today. I have lifelong habit of being my own worst critic, very hard on myself and not letting myself relax or giving myself credit. Your content has helped me beyond just the back pain. Great content and this is good "social media". So much media and social media is negative and filled with fear. Feed your head with content that uplifts your head & your heart and stop feeding your head with fear and nightmares. 5 weeks following your advice and while I'm still learning I'm getting a little bit better week by week both mentally and physically. The mental relief and safety is key no doubt. Thanks Dan and sending healing thoughts to everyone🙏♥️

'Doing the work' has actually almost always helped me, and made me feel more connected to myself.
Acknowledging how much I've helped myself has been an important part of my journey. However being really disciplined and having a high achieving mindset has not. Showing up for myself with self acceptance, love and forgiveness, especially in the darker times is a consistent effort, but has really helped develop my resilience and my health is a lot better! Knowing I've got my own back no matter what is a blessing, but it took a long time (+ a lot of life changes) to get there.
Thank you Dan for your calm and simplified approach to PDP/TMS, it is exactly the kind of recovery style that is helping me; and I hope many others. God bless.

What you resist persists, one of the fundamental laws of life :) Thank you Dan, I found your channel 2 days ago, after briefly asking God to give me "what I need". I struggled with neck pain and tension in my head, temples and the whole suboccipital area after studying like crazy to prepare for an important exam. I thought the cause was both physical (possibly forward head posture and eye strain) and mental (mental fatigue and intense stress in the last week). But because I'm used to look for an emotional/psychosomatic cause for all illnesses, it was really easy to accept that the cause of my pain was purely mental. Also because I noticed how it got worse under stress, and how it disappeared in the evening when I knew my day was almost over and there was nothing left to do. Up til 2 days ago I used to think the stress had kind of "transferred" into the body and I had to be patient until it left by itself. But knowing that my mind activity, attention and fear were keeping the symptoms alive, in itself gave me so much clarity, and it's so easy to keep the pain at bay. From the moment I realised what was going on, the pain subsided and just some muscle tension was left. Today the muscle tension is barely there. But most importantly , the fear and anxiety that accompanied the symptoms are pretty much gone. I'm so grateful. I'm also grateful for my body and nervous system that were ultimately just trying to protect me. Also a form of love.
Can you please recommend me a few of your videos, because I'm a bit worried that future stressful situations will bring back the symptoms! I want to heal for good :) Thank you so much!

I was trying so hard to make them stop... at it's worst it was 24/7 I even stopped lifting weights for five months which was probably a huge mistake because during that period they got really bad. I've been going through it for so long now that I stopped giving a crap if I twitched or not. Interesting enough that mentality and your daily videos have helped. I'm still twitching but not as often when when I twich I don't notice as much. Thank you for all the work you do Dan.

I have been so eager to ‘get rid’ of the issues and symptoms- it’s been a near 10 year battle. Since my baby went into intensive care in london - life/death situation, my health went down hill with anemia and chronic fatigue/my mum then had a stroke. Everyone was dying around me. I was spinning. Dizziness has been with me for 8 years. I’ve still worked and cared for my family even though I’ve dragged myself along, I’ve not given up trying to find answers or a cure. Desperation. It’s an Exhausting battle. But there have been cloudy breaks of normality. I can see it now. So I know it’s over sensitive nervous system/hyper stimulation. There is a common phrase which goes. How goes the battle? I like changing it to, how goes the dance? May we be mindful of the habit to fight and turn on the danger signal so that we can switch gears to as Dan says “calm reassurance”. The mind is a garden, what grows there is determined By what plants We water, we nurture, we feed with our attention and our thoughts. If we give our attention to fear and not being safe, then this plant will grow in our mind. As we learn to give less attention to that and more attention to calm reassurance, Safety, joy, etc. Then the former wither and the later will grow. This is the nature of the mind. Thank you Dan

Someone told me I won't recover from the stress response without the help of loved ones support. I don't have that so lost hope now. The adrenaline and cortisol pumping all day is too much to deal with. It does affect the body and stress not good when constant. Have no support from family and no job so stress response is constant . Feel it's over for me as too worn out to carry on.

Disregard this "someone" and their advice that you cannot heal. My wife was not on board with TMS and I got better anyway. You can too. Don't listen to anyone who says you cannot heal. They are wrong. You can do this. My fast start playlist is a great place to begin.

Is it better to “ be indifferent “ to symptoms or talk to your scared brain with reassuring talk when symptoms happen.
I’ve heard you mention both tactics.
    Ps i love this video.
It also made me laugh abit as weird as that sounds.
A lot of the M.E groups talk about being a warrior which makes it sound like a war,
    war = scary.
    Your a dam genius Dan

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 11 měsíci +1

Three ways to respond to symptoms. Freak out, calm reassurance, indifference. If indifference is out of reach, calmly reassure. You can do both though. There's a time and place for both. Focus on what makes you feel safe. Sometimes reassuring yourself with facts can dial down the fear.

    Fantastic video today!!! Thank You!!!
(My only intention is to personally
acknowledge that there is a positive benefit to tapping -that is NOT attached to an outcome of pain relief-and this has been my experience. So to just dismiss it unilaterally seems questionable to me)

If it's beneficial, go for it. It wasn't part of my cure and many people get well without it, so it must not be necessary, so it's not something I teach. I'm all for what helps whether it's my suggestions or not. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I certainly recognise why i have PDP and understand my personality has always been very anxious aroubd health . For 7 months i researched and had test and went to doctors and have been doing this for 2 months and my nerve pain keeps moving and intensifiing in mamy places too , all day. I am running each day and i started the garden fench but i am at a loss

Often the harder you try, the more you are showing your brain there is a BIG problem to solve. This video will explain why symptoms can get worse when doing this work: czcams.com/video/LTbMVV-oT1I/video.html

Hi Rebecca, I just wanted to encourage you. When I first started this work, I had an intensification of my symptoms, not a reduction. And the next phase was hilarious. For months, anxiety replaced a lot of the physical issues. It was horrible, and it could have felt like a setback. But I viewed the change as a positive. It meant that I was disrupting business as usual. Eventually the system got the message that ramping anxiety and rumination was not working. I was going about my life anyway. It gave up.
Things are not perfect right now. I am on a quick symptom imperative merry go round. The difference is that a neck ache that used last for days and require medication to eradicate bothers me for an hour and then goes away on its own. I know that someday I will be on the other side of this. A skin issue that used to send me to the doc, well, nowadays I just ignore it. Because it goes away on its own. Sometimes the same day! And THAT is proof. I have enjoyed a few days symptom free. Then the mindbody gets scared and says, oh no, she’s relaxed what can we do?
It’s all good. That is the motto. The journey is not a straight line for me. And it’s taking longer than I expected. I’m just accepting it. Overall there have been huge improvements. Big picture. I keep my eye on the big picture. And as Dan advises here, I’ve stopped fighting.
I hope this works as encouragement. Keep going.

@@CherryLane-si1yj Thank you so much for such a detailed message. Its very kind. Yes I definitely relate to increase in symptoms,.. at night too the anxiety has also began. More like my thoughts are very very intrusive so it's like double whammy. I realise there is no rule to how recovery goes. I think I may lay off all the journalling etc for a while and just try and do as Dan says ... live life as much as possible, although I'm currently on sick , I have been doing a few jobs and exercise which I will continue. I wish you all the best and love your mindset. You should be so proud. This is a part of life that I won't forget but will look back as a massive learning curve . Many thanks again for helping and supporting me. Xx

Yes, they do and are archived on a hidden playlist that is NOT public. Only members of the group coaching can see them. This way if you cannot make a session in person, you can submit a question in advance and I will answer the question and you can catch it on the replay.

WHAT ARE WE TO ACCEPT AND SURRENDER TO? THE SYMPTOMS? GIVE UP? WHAT DO WE SAY TO OURSELVES AS WE ACCEPT OR SURRENDER?

    • @PainFreeYou

Acceptance is NOT giving up. Resignation is quitting.

We surrender to the moment- accepting whatever is happening right now. We say "This is fine" or "Yes" or "I've got this." We are not accepting anything about the future- we are not surrendering to a life time of anything. Every time my brain wants to "solve" the problem or predict a negative future, I just say "Whatever" and let it go. When I really committed to this approach (one of Dan's main points) I could feel how it was a calmer place and after about 5 days, I noticed some tiny changes which have been followed by more incremental improvement. As he says, it's all about getting to the right mind set. If you don't want to fight with your body, then accepting what ever is going on with it -at any given moment- is the only practical alternative.

To much stimuli makes my vertigo & tinnitus worse. It scares me 😣 which is why I avoid. I sound like a broken record. I'm exhausted I want to learn how to talk to my brain. Thanks 👍 for the info.
But how do I know with mini strokes that I am not broken. Thursday I see neurologist. It's 24 miles away I'm scared I'm going to get lost so I will be dizzy the whole way there and when I get home I will be worse with dizzy and tinnitus.
