You look crazy stunning! You remind me so much of Belle from Beauty and the Beast for some reason lol...so classy and sophisticated!!!
Swear jess is a mixture of emma Watson and Kaya scodelario (think that's her last name). So beautiful!
iloveu975 yeah!!! and she always reminds me of hermione. If hermione was a bomb ass fashionista of course lol
꽁낑 oh my gosh I was just thinking that she reminds me of a mix between Emma Watson and Hermione ! It's even funnier because Emma is playing Belle in the live action film so all these comments sort of come full circle !
In one of her videos she said she doesn't like being compared to anyone and that she looks like herself.. I can't remember what video I think it was the Q&A a few years back.
+sommerlin we love jess as jess, not comparing her just complimenting her
would love for you to do a long video collating all of your absolute favourite books
Are you kidding?! I'll never be sick of your book hauls :D
Right? lol
Jess have you ever read Maya Angelou? I think she explores some themes you might enjoy!
omg yes she is one of my all time favorites!!
it's pretty certain she has lol
she's an english major so yeah...
Eleanor Carlsson lmao I'm laughing
LOVE hearing you talk about books, I'd love a video about your top 10 fave books of all time or like favourite books in different categories or something!!
Jess just has the most soothing voice ever and the most eloquent person I've ever come across on CZcams. And it's also uber refreshing to see fashion and beauty CZcamsr doing something real in real world and constantly upgrading herself. She's definitely a favourite and a hidden treasure in CZcams!
Jess would love if you could do like a uni tip video/ study tips
Megan Lily in one of her recent videos she shared how she takes her notes:)
I could sit and listen to you talk about books all freaking day
Louise T I know I'm late but yes it's so calming and nice and I also love her accent
I know you have a 'must reads video from a while ago, but would you ever make a video on some of your favorite books
Yes please!!
Taytay Okay yeees please!!
As a media and film student that blur focus background is giving me life
YOUR JUMPER I CANNOT
IKR!!!!!
Sarah T i need it!
I'm so jealous its always sold out online omg :"*(
pstt10 hey they just restocked it + there's 25% off sitewide I'm pretty sure (gosh I sound like a PR person for Unif, I swear I just love them)
Sweater: www.unifclothing.com/products/crayola-sweater
Laura Abbadi just checked! still sold out :'(
WHY ARE ALL THE COVERS OF YOUR BOOKS SO MUCH PRETTIER THAN THE ONES I HAVE honestly so jealous
Yeah, by the time she shows a book on here, all the (new) copies they sell in stores (in the states and around here at least) have tons of ratings, praise, quotes etc. making the book cover and back look a lot uglier. Sometimes if I really loved a book I'll buy a used copy just so I can have a non-ugly original copy. /nerd
+forgottenpixel I've actually figured it out! bookdepository.com has older versions of books for sale so you can have the prettier versions
***** Thank you for the link!
dear god it is so refreshing to have your videos in my subscription box. and you make me so nostalgic for university!
Adichie also has an incredible lecture on TedTalks- "The Danger of Single Story"
The Namesake is one of my very favorite books ever. Jhumpa Lahiri's writing is so rich and beautiful.
You should read José Saramago, who won a Nobel Prize. All his romances are incredible, but my favorite so far is Blindness.
Sara Lopo The Double is my favorite by him :)
This is the most relaxing video to watch!
Hi Jess! Just wanted to say that you have become a huge inspiration to me even though I have only been following you since this month. I am obsessed with your style and with how productive you are with your study. Goals!

How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez
There is an Anger That Moves by Kei Miller
sarah williams oh my gosh! thank you for this!
Americanah is one of the most beautifully written texts I've ever read. I highly recommend it for the book club ✨
You book section of your channel is one of my favourite things! Never too many books and a great selection always look forward to them xoxo
If you like "How the García girls lost their accents", you might want to also read "En el tiempo de las mariposas" (In the time of the butterflies) and "Antes de ser libres" (before we were free). They're also by Julia Álvarez :)
Jess I love how much more creative your content is getting its so so nice to see a youtuber doing something different and as an english lit student myself I'm loving your book hauls/reviews !! xx
Yes! I really enjoy watching your reviews and now your book hauls.
I'm from NYC and I currently go to college in Harlem! So cool hearing you talk about a place I go to everyday. Anyways, I love your book recommendations/hauls. They make me wanna spend my whole paycheck on new reads!

Yaaaaas! I've been looking forward to this since you mentioned in vlogtober💕 and again girl I m so impressed by your efficiency👌🏼
I'm so excited to hear more about your thesis/dissertation
Loved this video Jess! Yes to more book-themed videos!
I just love this video so much. It's so nice to see someone on CZcams who is interested in something more diverse (like literature) . xx
I love the book videos ! I'm always at a loss for what to read next, its nice to have suggestions from someone who's opinion you trust!
Please please please more book hauls!!! It's so refreshing to see a book haul video among "my 146 lipsticks, 137 mascaras and 256 makeup brushes collection" plus it's very inspiring for book lovers (and everybody else, maybe you will inspire ppl to read more - that would be awsome:))
Absolutely love your vlogs and book- related videos!
Love your book reviews and recommendations!! Keep them coming
LOVE book hauls jess!! V excited to read americanah and white teeth, and you've also given me some ideas for Christmas presents!
lovely video, as always. you've had it for a while now but i'm still super obsessed with your jumper
Yes please, I would absolutely love it if you made it a habit of doing book hauls every so often. Even without reviews, it gives me a lot of inspiration for what to read, and with my uni summer holidays coming up I need all the ideas I can get! :)
Wonderful video as per usual
i love watching your books hauls and i saw in you vlog that you thought we might find this boring but i definitely dont!
I love the book videos and love that youve stuck with that, I remember your first videos being very book orientated!!
I love how you've done your eyeliner! Xx

Reading is life !
Watching this makes me miss my English Lit. course at uni! I actually really enjoyed preparing for my Dissertation and deciding which books to use for it - loving your vlogs too, Jess
Loved this video and I got really excited when you mentioned Middlesex. It's one of my favourite books ever. I can't wait to hear what you think.
I love these videos Jess! Having a coffee and getting reading inspiration from you iis the perfect start to my day :D
You're such an inspiration, Jess. Love this as always!
Jess! I would HIGHLY recommend "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" by Iain Reid! It's pretty scary at some parts and it has the biggest twist towards the end. I read it recently and would love it to be included in the book club. It's not too long either.
yes, please do more book hauls jess!!!
I love when you do this kind of videos. Can't wait to see more book hauls. Greetings from Spain!
BRAVO to you for the diversity of your reading selection.
I've been absolutely loving these book related videos! You are so eloquent and your insight into the the story and style of writing has really inspired me to read more! I would just like to ask if you could list the booksyou talk about in the description box?
those glasses fit you so well! you look gorgeous!
YAY BOOKS
middlesex is such a good book! one of my fave! btw thanks for this book haul, definitely gonna read some of them
Honestly i would LOVE to hear her read all of these books outloud - like for an audio book version, cuz she has sucha solid and soothing voice!
Also i just found her channel, and she's already made her way into my list of top favorite youtubers!
Lots of love from Sweden!
i love the house on mango street so much. it's so well written and vibrant.
There's no such thing as book overload - I'm thoroughly enjoying your book videos! Keep 'em coming :)
Always love your book haul!!!
I love your sweater! Watching this video really makes me want to get back into reading. I've been so caught up in college with my classes to read but I really do miss getting into and losing myself in a good book. The Underground Railroad sounds intriguing...I think I may buy it and give it a read.
YESSSS! I recently did my own mini haul of six books and every single one I read is currently in stacks around my room because I don't actually have a book case OOPS - even still, I think it makes the place look more homely.
The Namesake is very good. I didn't think I would enjoy it at first but ended up really loving it!
Your course seems really interesting! I'm studying decolonization in history, and I read a few novels about the French decolonization, but I'd love to know and read more about the British Empire decolonization. Anyway, please keep doing these videos! They are extremely interesting and useful, and who knows, they might encourage people to read more !
Middlesex is REALLY good. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
You are such a breath of fresh air- both style and substance. Good luck with your dissertation.
I am in love with your glasses! They suit you so well :)
more book hauls and book reviews please!
I would love to see a video on uni organisation and study tips! Even though you briefly touch that topic in your vlogs, it would be nice to hear you explain a proper routine in a separate video :)
I loved 'The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Waco'! I read it in an ethnic literature class in college! Hope you enjoy it too! Junot Diaz' 'Drown' is really really good too!
I love it when you do book hauls, it's always interesting to see what your tastes are. The longer the haul, the better. :D
I LOVE YOUR BOOK RELATED VIDEOS
Great selection of books Jess. It sounds like your exploring a very similar topic to what I did for my dissertation a few years ago
Hi Jess, I loved this video. I'm an English teacher and I haven't heard of many of these books so thank you for introducing me to them. Quite a few have made it onto my 'to read' list. x
You are probably my favorite youtuber at the moment! Video looks good and audio sounds good, and your voice is so nice and you are very pretty. Keep it up!
Love this video as always Jess! 🍂💛✨
Americanah is a wonder of a book! I'm using it for my dissertation, it's a really great read! love your videos especially those relating to books, hope everything goes well on your dissertation journey
Loved this, I need to get these they sound so good. Yes please do more book hauls. :)
Jess, you should read some of Toni Morrison's work. I don't know if you've ever read The Bluest Eye but it's a great read and I think you would greatly enjoyed it!
I've read Wide Sargasso Sea, Middlesex, The House on Mango Street, and I think of the three I definitely liked The House on Mango Street the best. Absolutely love your book hauls!
Im using Wide Sargasso Sea for my Advanced Higher English dissertation. I loved it so much!!
Great haul! Flippin love that jumper! Xx
I adore your videos Jess!
i read house on mango street in high school and it was definitely a memorable one! although i wasn't so keen about it at that age, i've grown to like it
Loved the House on Mango Street! The writing style is absolutely beautiful, as it almost reads like poetry. Hope you enjoy it as well xx
Ah I analysed Wide Sargasso Sea for my a level english lit coursework and rly enjoyed it! Knowing at least a little about Jane Eyre makes Rhys's perspective all the more fascinating!
that rainbow jumpervis what I have written on my wish list!
Jess if you like Nabokov's writing I'd definitely recommend his book "Transparent Things". It's such an interesting book, written in a narrative way where the narrator recalls his life and reflects on it. However, Nabokov's wit, humor and plain intelligence make every single sentence a meaningful one!
I absolutely love the look that you're wearing :)
Your glasses look fantastic!
I went through a relatively long period of not enjoying reading books. After watching your video I placed an order on Amazon with some of your reccomendations! :)
Hope there will be more book hauls in the future.
Your sweater reminds me of harry potter, blue for ravenclaw, green for slytherin, yellow for hufflepuff and red for gryffindor :d
I love this book haul !!!
Americanah is incredible! It looks at such relevant topics
The Namesake is beautiful and might be my favorite book of all time. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it! I also read The House on Mango Street and Wide Sargasso Sea in college and loved them.
loooooove your studying/book related videos
xoxo i just love these types of videos
Love this. I appreciate reading is what you do 24/7. Really interested in how long it would take you to read something like Americanah i.e. for leisure not note taking. I am keen to read more. With work/life in general one novel takes 1-2 weeks which seems forever given your incredible reading pace. Appreciate your immense productivity - all fascinating! xx
I loved this video so much!! I am about to start reading "Wide Sargasso Sea" and your video really motivated me!! please do more book related videos :)
