- In this video, I will go over 10 home video logos that I think are cheesy. They're cheap, corny, poorly-done, or restricted to the era...and they haven't aged well! This is my second major presentation.
I am not affiliated with the logos mentioned in the presentation.
Family Home Entertainment is possibly the first home video company to have a "Home Entertainment" suffix as in the 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment name change in the 1990's.
For Cockney Rebels Specials, I think the logo is supposed to be excited for the pornography that was probably shown after the logo? I mean, that's what I think explains the awkward zooming in and out and the beats at that point.
This is a great and comprehensive list! All these choices are spot on. Also, the Cyclo Video seems to be also guilty of lifting extant jingles as it seems their jingle is an extended version of Channel Television's late 80s jingle.

To be fair, both Cyclo and Channel Television are somewhat guilty of lifting Keith Mansfield's Superstar Fanfare.
I've always wondered what kind of software would emulate the cheap computer graphics seen on some of these logos nowadays. (Such as in the Photo Video logo.)

I agree. Plus, you should probably add more there like PAP Video and Castle Vision (1980s ones).

At 4:29 , during Optimist, the music here was also used as a TV news theme.
I happen to like Cheese Sticks and Hot Cheese on my tortilla chips and sausages, and I like logos (but none of them here).
Same, even these logos I don't like.
Nice job on muting the 1993 Photo Video logo, because It uses A copyrighted tune called Equinoxe Pt. 5 by Jean-Michel Jarre, without permission.

I'm going to make up various lists about logos for a while. So far I've made one about cheesy logos from Argentina.
What would you see me do next? Maybe cheesy Greek logos? Scary Indian logos? Whatever.
I'll try to avoid clichéd logos when possible.
Do whatever you wish. I think cheesy Greek logos is a subject that has not been widely touched upon. Maybe that. Scary Indian logos sounds good too, but there's already a video or two about that. I'll try to come up with other things a bit later for you to do.
Greece is another breeding ground for cheesy logos. Examples include Sunrise Video, MTC Video, Photo Video (which their second logo was on the list), Video City International (with the stolen Star Wars theme), and many more. Argentina still holds a record for it where I swear there were no good home video distributor logos there in the 80s and 90s.
Random Guy Productions Maybe look into cheesy dutch logos?
Haha! Looking at this again, I really can't help but notice something in the Cockney Rebels Specials logo. The first syllable of "Cockney" is in capital letters... XD

Also in one of the logos there was the channel television music
Enterprise is budget Prism, implying Prism's budget was good anyway. And Optimistic is basically a logo that I'd expect from a melted graphics card or a Logo FX video.
When you don't have enough money to make a logo or animate it, just use a still or text.

You are in a certain form. When I put in the WAV files, I wanted them all to be the regular WFSU jingle. However, I wanted the last transition to have a different sound to represent more suspense. However, I forgot to save the file with the different music with a different name, thus, all of them changed. That's why the last transition sounds more like the actual logo's jingle--but it gives the same effect I guess.

And yes, it was the early 80s, but the logo looks like it's from the 60s with the basic font, design, and music (which was stolen).

Recently, I uploaded a logo that was just as cheesy as/cheesier than the top 3 logos on this list. It's from Golumbia Video, a Canadian home video company (and a video rental store) that distributes Indian films.
