Wichita Falls is a hub for nearby DFW, Lubbock, Amarillo, and Southwest Oklahoma. Is home to Midwestern State University, the world's littlest skyscraper Newby-McMahon Building, Sheppard AFB, and a waterfall which the city is named for!

@@trevorjameson3213 They overdeveloped it even on the outskirts. It's overcrowded, drug addicts roaming the streets...crime is through the roof...all in all it is a mess.

We had to move out of Wichita Falls, because of all the corruption and crime, and our son was bullied
Would love some more details, my son in law (my daughter passed almost 6 yrs ago) just moved there with his new wife and her taking my grandson there 😢 he is a very sweet little red headed 6 yr old and I know nothing about the area

I don’t even know why I watched this. I was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base for training in 1960. I found a ride into town to shop for some civilian clothes to wear when not training and stopped into a clothing store downtown. The owner was Hispanic and quickly told me that he did not serve military personnel and threw me out of the store. It was a terrible time in Wichita Falls. There were Air Base personnel beaten, almost to death, with tire chains in front of the base front gate. The base commander restricted all base families from going into town. The city almost dried up from no shopping in town. Talks began and a parade was formed and presented on base for the Mayor and other folks to try to mend fences. I hated the place, the base, the town, the people, and I see it hasn’t changed over the years. You can keep it.
P.S. The year I left the Air Force, 1968, I was assigned some duty in West Plains, Missouri. I went into a clothing store in town to purchase some needed civilian clothes and found I was undercharged by a lot. I was then told it was correct and thanked me for my service to the Country.

I live in Wichita Falls. It is a slow pace than Dallas where the I am used to. I love that it is quiet but that's about it
