I was going to say they basically just started using a standard RIMS mount system, which is nothing new. But I realized that having that extra attachment for the bottom lugs, is actually quite different, and a good idea I think. I love my RIMS mounts, but I’ve often wondered how much tension is being put on the top hoop and the middle two lugs that are the main mounting points. Having the extra support on the bottom really does seem to make more sense. I really like this design. I love acrylic drums because of their resonance and tone. Pearl drums seem to have a similar sound from any video I’ve seen. With this new mounting system, they must sound amazing.
Pearl have always been an innovator and this new Hi-End drum line is another example of their creativity and vision.
I can't wait to get more information about this as they come to Canada. Excellent work, Pearl!!

I was at the event in Nashville and tried the drums up close! And omG nothing comes even close to Pearl drums!!!!
Back in The Day Steve Ferrone, Marvin Smitty Smith, Horacio Hernandez And Dennis Chamber's we're the Reason I Switched to Pearl Drum's. I was Living in Vegas at the Time Ran into Guitar Center saw My Pearl Reference Kit and Bought it Right Away. Pearl The Best Reason To Play Drum's. Period!!

Thanks for adding the L system, it was a long debt that Pearl had to pay with the drumming world, also, would be nice if u guys pay some attention for the drummers in latin america!
Watched various videos on this now, I can't tell enough how different and unique these drums are, where the tone is distinguishable from other drums. Usually similarities are felt , but this is like , "it's just so unique and powerful"

All I can say is Sploosh. Man those are some insane drums. I would LOVE a Masters Maple Pure bop kit. In the meantime, I just ordered a Midtown kit that I am super stoked to give a good daily pummeling to. Y'all can just have my money.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day at the pearl event yesterday in Nashville. Just one more reason why pearl was my first kit and will be my last kit. When I was young and had acquired my export kit. I found it difficult to resist practicing at volume. And, as a consequence, law enforcement would stop by and tell me to turn down the music. The only music were my exports. Speaks volumes. The most musical drums ever. Thank you Pearl. For the voice and freedom of musical expression.

That Gyro Lock L tom arm looks great. Hope you guys do 10.5 and 9.5mm versions, would love to try it out on my Ludwig and Tama kits!
So basically, if you order the shell with 4 plies of maple and two plies of gum, you get.... that great Gretsch sound? 😉 These are beautiful and sound amazing, all four shelltypes. And an "L" arm on a Pearl.... Mind blown 😆

I love my Pearl reference, the original ones, but the suspension system gave me a hard time on my 12”. I switched the Gibraltar rim mounts which solved the issue. I would outfit my Pearls with the new suspension system in a heartbeat. Now for the price…

OK, I gotta say that I'm not usually one to go crazy over mountain system - I usually just place my tom on a snare stand - but the R2 design with the disk for dampening is absolute *genius*...!
No more tape, gels, possibly no more changing heads for resonance control in the studio.... that is just beyond brilliant yet simple and easy to use. No love for the rebirth of the professional series in this video tho :(

Good for Pearl for fixing the two things that kept a LOT of players from buying them. I had mine on RIMS Alloy mounts. So, it’s great to see they have fixed the sore points. Love the curved booms, as well. The best part of the video is the guy talking over the players….smh.

I didn't hear anything mentioned about the "top of the line" standard Reference series drums (not Reference Pure). Are those still available, and can the new "L" arm mounts be incorporated into them??

Bruh, the optimount was already the best, most stable mount IMO. They made it better!? L ARMS!? They already look better than any other brands Tom arms!

The best reason to play drums is because you want to, because you love music, and no matter how good you are, you can always get better. As an artist, you should always feel a certain degree of reverence for your instrument. If you don’t, that may explain why you can’t improve and create effectively.

That L arm is not revolutionary. Every other drum maker has been using them for years. Pearl are trapped in the past
L-Arm mounts are not new but the GyroLock-L Tom Holders are different than others on the market. Our version uses the same design as our traditional tom holders... not the common nylon ball & socket system which dents and deteriorates.
