    Generally MPCs are used for sampling and don't require a computer (with the exception of the MPC Renascence) whereas Maschince (being made by Native Instruments as apposed to AKAI) is more computer based although you can still control everything without even touching your computer. I use Maschine because I love Native Instruments and the brass library is pretty great because it comes with Massive (for hard electro and dubstep type synths) and Komplete Elements. MPC does not come with synths.

    if you don't have a laptop, you're going to want an mpc. you need a computer for maschine to work.
