Please stop doubling down on Microtransactions. Just focus on a finished game and the revenue will come by itself.
could make it way cheaper. if it's at a reasonable price that everyone can buy, then the profits you get will be the same. just across multiple people instead of only a handful
Im really wondering If anyone actully buys this. I mean this seems to me to be a bad Investment for Microsoft.
even halo 5 had a reward for achievement hunting in games for halo 5, like the achilleas set and the elite inspired one for completing all halo mcc games on legendary, infinite has none of that
But making a good game makes too much sense
@@nocomment6421 Probably enough to actually make this mode of revenue generation worth all the clapback.
Say what you want about Microsoft, I honestly doubt they'd make mistakes with their numbers. If they are indeed so corrupt and stuff, then they are first and foremost businessmen. If it was so unprofitable, alarm bells would have been ringing at Microsoft HQ long ago.
The fact that H5 was a better live service than the live service free Halo game is wild.
They were kicking content out for Halo 5 as if it was a live service game versus infinite 🤦🏾
I didn't really care for its multiplayer but I did enjoy breakout and War Zone
That's because they didn't spend half the time re fixing previous fixes, and had actually finished the game to be stable (technical problem wise, I know h5 didn't have forge right away)
@@Spendingryan they also wasted a lot of development time and resources making that open world that was ultimately empty and forgettable
Halo 5 isn't very traditional Halo, but I like the armor abilities.
They are cool and fun.
Halo infinite had a better campaign but Halo 5 multiplayer is absolutely A step above Halo infinites.
Halo 5 micros were trash way too many bloat unlocks
Infinite has been abandoned by microsoft and 343, now they’re just milking it for all its worth while doing less than even the bare minimum.
Brother they were milking it long before Infinite.
Arguably. Halo 3 ODST being $60 was a product of Microsoft milking Halo.@@HexJK
Indeed, I cannot see something long-lasting when done like this... However, they can build on top of the finished game for their MTX. I still genuinely believe MTX should be a thing in these types of games, simply so that it becomes something like TF2 sort of, just that why do we need a TF3? You know? In the same vein, why would I want to have a new Halo game that has to do this type of stuff again, build what is kind ajust the same thing again, instead of something like campaigns or spinoffs and whatnot which will bring the meat in? Like think about it, why would you want to play Halo 3 ODST multiplayer where it is just Halo 3 but with ODSTs as your characters?... It would be cool and novel for a while but it would just be a reskin somewhat. I just want something multiplayer that would last for at least half a decade while the meat of the franchise like campaigns being the ones that keep coming, or even make like MCC where the campaigns and multiplayers are DLC and its just one game with detachable packages so you can save space if u want. And about the MTX, i just want something that works with Halo itself, the way they do MTX is reminiscent of modern COD, it just doesnt work because the crux of Halo customisation is that its not just a whole skin but a whole slew of pieces you can mix and match, same with the colours or coatings. They shouldve built on top of that instead of trying to turn it into something that wont work well because its a bad system, and also youre introducing it to an audience who already knows the crux of halo customisation in general. And whats more, their MTX doesnt work that well, because theres no way a F2P can chime into it in any way, like its a solid guideline to never give your customers dead ends with this premium stuff because theyll just shut it out, ignore it completely because well theres no future for me there so why indulge unless youre a whale or someone who doesnt mind the prices because they can pay for it?

@@REALMARCHINADER Yeah that did suck but at the very least ODST was a fantastic experience with all the charm offered by the original trilogy.

It’s crazy.

Anyone else remember the days when games were made by fellow gamers who had a love and passion for creating art and telling a story?
This is why Indie games. Basically only play indie games, for years now, they still have the passion that AAA studios lost.
Like the only exceptions in AAA I can confidently pull off the top of my head are Larian and From Software.
@@Hamuelin And what to say about Remedy's games, my favorite in terms of narrative.
AAA games are still made by gamers, but the executives up top who don't play games force the devs to put in these horrible systems and ruin the game
Honestly, things weren't amazing back in the day, either. N64 games used to cost $70 in the 90s, which would be over $100 now accounting for inflation. Arcade games were designed in particular ways to extract as many quarters as possible out of people, too.
Which isn't to say there weren't games made by gamers who had a love and passion for creating art and telling a story in the past, too. But those still exist now as well. Let's just not kid ourselves into thinking exploitation in the name of profit incentive is actually a new thing here
You mean halo 4?
Microsoft doesn't give a fuck about Halo, LITERALLY
But Microsoft seems to care about Bethesda and their Fallout TV Show/games.
If that was the case they never would've made the massive change in leadership at 343 to begin with.

Sure ... but i can guarantee they'd take the wrong lesson from that. They'd say "The IP is dead, it doesn't have a market anymore" before admitting they pushed an implementation that pissed people off so hard that it flopped the product.
Executives will ALWAYS default to interpreting events in a way that doesn't put the fault for a bad outcome on their strategic decisions.
I'd regret to see the entire IP go under, but it's not like seeing it shamble along as a cash grab zombie is really any better.
Honestly the workers at 343 would be upset. The suits at Microsoft would just chalk it up to another Gears of War or similar franchise they finally dropped for a new prized franchise before moving on from that game in due time too.

It's been three years, here's a sandwich you can use as a weapon?
infinite is more like; armorarmorarmorarmorarmorarmorarmor*GUN*armorarmorarmor i think you get the gist oh most of it is in the shop and throw in forge maps.
Used to play infinite regularly, but have since started playing Helldivers II. I have spent a decent amount on armors in infinite. Once the second CU hit where armor was triple priced, I told myself that I no longer intend on spending money on halo. It feels like 343 and/or Microsoft spit in my face.
For a fella that goes to work and wants to come home and have fun for a couple games, I now play helldivers. I don’t have to worry about desync, don’t have to worry about crazy load times, don’t have to worry about paywalled content, don’t have to worry about Uber competitive matches every time I play, I don’t have to worry about if I can even queue a match with my friends. Be better Halo.
I feel like it’s even more of a spit in the face to have the increased prices because it sure seems like the shop is not paying for anything else in the game. Like if they at LEAST had new weapons/equipment/vehicles/ dev-made maps coming out like once a month, then it’d be more understandable. But only using forger’s maps (nothing against them, they’re an awesome community keeping us alive) reeks of cheapness. Like they can save money by having someone else do their jobs for free, ridiculous.
Dude, preach!
I don’t get how game publishers don’t understand that if they make a good game first and treat the players well, the money will naturally come from the players wanting to spend on the good game.
Because they're stupid.
People who bought the campaign should've been given extra rewards and/or credits.
The F2P excuse doesn't work for me. They cut the game in two, made half of it free, but still charged full price for the other half.
I paid $60 for the campaign and haven't gotten my money's worth almost 3 years later.
Yeah it’s crazy how little cosmetic stuff you get from the campaign
And the leakers showed those campaign skins were converted to cross core in the files months ago, but still not enabled to use.
Same here and it makes me not want the next game.
The state of modern gaming is absolutely crap, and there's no going back. Very unfortunate that Halo was a victim of it.
Baldurs' Gate 3 would like to have a word
I'm really glad you mentioned Helldivers, not only is it now the gold standard for monetization, but it's also INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL. The game is living proof that the standards us halo fans have begged for for so long actually make A LOT of money! Certainly a lot more than Halo Infinite is making right now with its current crappy system.
I think the issues we're seeing from live service comes from stockholder expectations. If you look at Helldivers and Baldur's Gate 3, both were developed by privately owned companies (Arrowhead and Larian), neither one has to meet the high demands of stockholders in terms of prices. Devs care about gamers, shareholders do not.
Both companies were given relative freedom in their development cycles, and both produced games that were highly acclaimed and successful.
But shareholders will never see that, because they're not posting Billion dollar sales, they'll see the profits from Destiny, FIFA, COD, and demand those numbers with all the predatory practices that come with it.
The only company I can really think of that has the same shareholder demands, but doesn't fall for the predatory practices is Nintendo, but they always kinda hit different.
Nintendo is uniquely Japanese. they have been around since the late 1800s; theyre older than all Western developers put together.
It really all is the dang stockholder expectations. I've been trying to tell some people this for years, but you put into words better than I have. Thanks!
So I guess the solution here is to let the market crash and have all the Wall Streeters pull out of the gaming space. I think we might be due for that, anyway.
Shareholders ruin everything. I wish we could hold them accountable.
Arrowhead are owned by Sony who are publicly traded
I have been saying this since Halo Infinite was revealed to have F2P multiplayer, and they did exactly what I expected them to do, milk the store for all it is worth. Make a quality product and people will buy it, but all these executives see is $. Publicly traded publishers and the discovery of the F2P microtransaction business model, which are just transactions at this point, have destroyed the industry. If the next Halo is F2P then I don't want it.
I was saying the same things when it was announced it would be f2p. Crazy how macro transactions are now the only reason a game is made. If it weren't for those, Halo would be dropped by Microsoft, even though they have the loyal fanbase, which they've now severed more ties with.
Just like how this game was made with contracted employees instead of full time devs to save some money.
Greed is hurting the entire industry. Games were made with love...then some fund managers waved LOTS of money in front of the little guys, who took the bait. Now game studios are run by accountants and businessmen, who give zero Fs about the craft.
We’re in a period of publisher and executive greed. Fight back with your wallet.
It is all fucking Microsoft's fault.
And 343 bad leadership
343 IS Microsoft. They are one in the same
They are having talks of adding steam to Xbox im more excited for the chance of that happening than halo at this point I won’t lie
Yes, blame the company that actually supports Halo. What could go wrong 😂
There's something to be said about investor greed
Reach had the best system. Points earned by playing multiplayer and campaign, you can spend the points on anything you want, nothing was ever vaulted.
Really though, they just need to make a good game first. Both H5 and Infinite feel like a monetization system first with a game built around it second.
and sadly thats exactly how games are done these days mostly.
I don't even mind a store system if it's like Helldivers. Price the game cheaper than AAA standard and augment that with cosmetics that are *reasonably* priced for what they are - if the game is fundamentally good content, people will support that and the studio will make money off of volume of sales, rather than the margin on selling to a relatively few whales.
to be fair 5 has a similar system, you can just play to earn stuff but it's random and can also bought with real money, but the game itself was really fun arguably more so than past games. infinites on the other totally restricts most of its cosmetic to be bought in expensive shop bundles and the game was extremely unfinished and broken.
I hate how much everything cost it’s insane, we should be doing challenges for armours not F**KING PAYING for all these skins
I miss halo 5 that game was so fun i wish they would do a next Gen verion to it halo 5 had the best weapon sand box in my opinion
We need to revert back to “play to earn it” as Halo 3 and Reach had. We can still have a shop if needed to get new content consistently added to the game I guess… I miss having the incentive to grind a game to get cool stuff.
we NEED a Series X & PC update for Halo 5!
I never paid a dollar for halo 5, and I had the majority of everything unlocked by level 100, halo 5 req system was wayyyy better then halo infinites micro transactions imo
Didn’t pay a dime for infinite either. You don’t need to pay anything to enjoy the multiplayer which is why I don’t care about them putting out battle passes.
But it was a Casino scheme
I didn’t like the lootbox req system, it’s the same exploitative gambling system that every game had at the time (and CS2/sports games still have). At least I technically didn’t have to pay for anything past the boxed cost, I just had to wait until I rolled what I actually wanted, which could be next game or 500 games away.

I was perfectly fine supporting Halo Infinite's monetization. I was buying all the battle passes, I was buying the £20 shop bundles (The most expensive at the time) and I was willing to spend more money for the SOF stuff. Until I saw the price. I cannot justify spending on Halo Infinite when the prices are so high, and the content is so minimal.
I couldn't agree more. With everything. I would've actually spent money on at least a few things in Infinite. But not after everything 343 and MS have done. They've made the wrong decisions on monetisation and progression at almost every turn since Halo 5 launched.
I'm so fed up of it all that it killed my desire to play. Halo. My (once) all-time favourite series, and I just can't even bring myself to play it anymore. The 20 or so friends that used to love and play it are gone, and there's nothing to work towards. So if I just want to play Halo for the sake of enjoying playing Halo? There's a magical thing called MCC.
"Microsoft's greed is hurting Halo"
A rock can see that.
1000%!! I was thrilled when they offered up chief for heroic rank! MORE of that! Tiers to work for, and legit rewards.
I have spent $20 or $30 TOTAL on Halo Infinite, exclusively on the early battle passes. The shop prices have felt so outlandish the only thing I have purchased is a $1 emblem pack with the points I had leftover after they stopped including battle passes.
I probably spent about $50 on packs in Halo 5 on top of $60 for the game, and the ability to earn packs through playing always felt good. It gave a reason to keep playing. Champion ranks were another reason to keep playing, even though I never quite reached Champion in any playlist having the goal was huge for me. 'Onyx number go up' isn't a sufficient motivator for me to keep playing ranked on Infinite, it doesn't feel like there is a tangible goal. Having the only non-monetary unlockable method be from completing all weekly challenges has me playing for a few hours a week and then feeling there's no point once I finish the challenges. It doesn't matter if I'll never use the thing I unlocked, it's just fun to be rewarded for my time.
I had the same issue going from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2. Earning loot boxes through playing in Overwatch 1 was very fun and a great motivator to continue playing. Earning anything without paying in Overwatch 2 is completely infeasible and actually feels so insulting to my time that I quit.
I spent $100 on loot boxes in Overwatch 1 on top of the retail price, BECAUSE I felt like the game respected me as a player.
$0 on Overwatch 2.
Path of Exile (free to play) has some of the best developer and player inter-communication. They feel very transparent in their decision making processes and monetization practices. Every season has new armor sets you can earn through completing challenges. They are constantly adding tons of new content and trying to make the game the best it can possibly be. They've been doing this every 3 months for OVER TEN YEARS. Extremely consistent, constantly new things to do, I feel heard and respected as a player.
I have spent over $1000 supporting this game, and for the most part nobody sees the cosmetics I purchased except for me.
In summary, it's not that I'm unable or unwilling to spend money on a game. It's about me feeling respected as a player, and I absolutely do not feel respected as a player in Halo Infinite. The potential for the game was so massive, I was so sure we were going to be seeing tons of new weapons and new maps, and alternative game modes with the insane amount of tweaking possible in custom games. But it's been a very slow drip, and many of the best things we have gotten in Infinite have ALL BEEN MADE BY THE COMMUNITY!!! so why in the world would I want to give money to 343 when their main focus the entire time has not been improving the game, but rather cranking out as many cosmetics as possible to bloat the shop with?
Thank you for reading
I heard this a bit with Overwatch 2 with OW1's loot boxes and it's funny hearing it about Halo now, but it's rather unlikely anyone will return to that model since there's a whole lot of gambling law stuff tied up in it now.
I wish we could buy pieces of bundles
Game timeline:

Hell divers II, Party Animals, and even sea of thieves, I believe do cosmetic microtransactions right. Plenty of rewards for just playing the game. And when you do spend money you fell like you are getting a good value.
Thank you, Mint! We needed this video for 343 to see! Also, we need the Halo 5 multiplayer to be free! I am VERY tired of having to pay to play Halo 5!!
It took me about 1600 games of H5 to get enough points to unlock everything (and about 2500 games until I had ample cards of each valuable item). It was a long grind (about 1-1.5 years) but I had fun playing for it since I could still get something new every few games. Halo Infinite has no meaningful unlocks unless I pay a ton of money, which seems to me to be the worse of two really poor options.
For context, I never spent any money on either game besides purchasing the base version of H5 and the Infinite Campaign (which should have been $30/40, not $60).
Besides Helldivers, Dying Light and its sequel also have a good balance of community event unlocks without making a grind pointless unless you spend more and more money.
love the req pack weapon and vehicle variations, not sure if itd be broken but id love to see a needler ammo mod for the AR like the promethean assault rifle.
I remember paying Halo 5 when it came out, and when me and my buddies were talking about how much we didn't like the REQ system, I thought: "At least it cant get worse in the next game!"
How wrong were we.
I recently came up with an idea (it might sound dumb at first but think about it 😂). What if a game has a free to play version and a $60-$70 version. The free to play is what it sounds like but would work like Halo Infinite in terms of cosmetics/DLC. The paid version would be like old Halo games in which you would have to grind quite a bit to get armor, variants and other cosmetics (and perhaps paid DLC).
I believe everyone would start with the free to play and, if they like the game a lot, get the paid version. Casual players would stay in the free to play and perhaps drop more than $60-$70 before they realize (making the profit 343 needs).
From a business perspective, you have a massive player base that comes from free to play and making profit from either players buying cosmetics or people dropping $60-$70 + DLC on the paid version
I would also be careful how we phrase things, I don’t want to say that we like the halo fives system too much because then the next game might try to reinstate loot boxes (inflation, edition) and only have helmet and armor choices for customization.
Glad I stopped playing when I did. It just isn't worth the time anymore to play infinite, and halo 5 was much more fun and complete despite the complaints people had about that one too.
All 343 have to do with the next mainline game and/or spin off is reintroduce Spartan Points as a basic currency are solely earned in game to unlock battle pass items, a really good chunk of base game items like coatings, armour, helmets, visors, nameplates etc that can be updated/extended for free during the games life cycle and use Credits (with a small amount being unlockable in game) as the premium currency for Store Items using actual money.
Honestly, locking in-game advantage behind an immense grind or a paywall is stupid.
At least in infinite, anything that gives you an advantage is free.
Infinites “paywall”, is just cosmetic. It makes you look cool. You don’t need to spend a dime on it.
Of course I’d rather Reach’s cosmetic system, but for a big companies that isn’t really possible anymore. Especially in a free to play game. Arrowhead’s comparison isn’t really fair. Their player count is so much bigger than halo’s, they get more sales, they get more outreach. This spirals and they get a shit tone of profit they can put back into the game.
I’d love more unlockables because there isn’t really much of a fullfilling grind in infinite. Like i don’t care about stickers or weapon skins. They all look awful and always will in halo.
Not to mention Infinite is free to play, Forge, Firefight, Multiplayer, Customs Browser all free, with the exception of the campaign. Halo 5 was NOT a free game and had the audacity to lock cosmetics behind a loot box system while having atrocious customization options limited to just head and body presets.
I’d say it’s a perfectly fair comparison. The supercredit prices were decided before the game became immensely popular, so it’s less predatory microtransactions aren’t due to its popularity. By all rights Infinite should have been more popular, and would have been if there wasn’t a content drought.
there is no advantage in infinite just for playing, you hardly get cosmetics just for playing. You can how ever actually earn almost everything in 5 and even though you could buy them I found it enjoyable to actually earn them just playing arena where it was unaffected by reqs and warzone firefight where everyone is on the same team.
@@camarosquidhow about infinite's audacity to charge full price for the campaign alone, launch it missing basic features like online coop and even mission replay, and totally restricting most armor to be bought with real money only.
at least 5 gives you a chance to earn everything, honestly 5 not allowing you change each piece of armor is just as bad as infinite not allowing to pick colors like in past games, oh and certain colors have to be bought as well.
Believe it or not, Fortnite had been doing a similar but more restrictive version of what Helldivers does. When the Save the World gamemode was still in "Early Access" (Used quotes cause it still is, due to the lack of polish it still hasn't gotten), players could purchase a Founders pack to get into the mode before it was going to release for free (This was before the BR blew up and left Save the World for dust in 2018), and they'd be able to get V-Bucks by completing daily quests, or special alerts in one of the 4 modes. When Fortnite as a whole left Early Access sometime after Chapter 2 Season 3 started, Founders Packs were no longer made available for purchase, and instead players had to buy special packs to gain access to Save The World, but could no longer get V-Bucks at least daily. Founders still could, and to this day, can still earn V-Bucks by just playing Save the World. Albeit, not as quickly as Helldivers, but they still could.
Complained about it in Halo Wars 2 Blitz mode and Spartan Assault then continued with Halo 5 then Infinite. Not really surprised most fans are sick of 343i. Sadly I agree that Halo 5 had a better system and that's the sad part because nobody liked it...says a lot about Infinite.
Used to play H5 daily despite hating the system till max rank but with Halo Infinite I find it less motivated to play because of depressing the MT system is in Infinite. I'm barely bothering with ranks in Infinite because the greedy MT store is not fun.
I dont think this a 343 problem, just a Microsoft corporate one
Microsoft has always been a problem, and it didn't start in halo 5 like most people think it did. It actually started with Halo 2. Halo 2 was a prime example of a broken unbalance shit hole game. It was clear Bungie needed more to patch things up, but Microsoft didn't allow it.
You could play 2-3 games of firefight without boosts and afford a single Gold REQ pack. I hate loot boxes but at least it was obtainable for free. A Reach type of system where you earn credits and can buy what you want would be perfect. REQs would be better suited for just Warzone if they ever decide to bring it back.
3:14 I appreciate that you try to stay objective AND I appreciate that you tell it like it is: "but I absolutely despise *both* systems". To me, Halo 5's lootbox nonsense was better than Infinite's over-priced, FOMO, "buy expensive packs for the one item you want" garbage - but that's a very low bar. I'm very happy to hear that Helldivers II and some other games have much better micro-transaction models. I won't be holding my breath for the next Halo game to be significantly more consumer-friendly... but here's hoping.
They sound either use a system like hell divers 2, or halo reaches.
I just want the Reach credit system to return so I can purchase armour with credits that I earn by playing … If the developers put effort into maps instead of giving us forge made maps then I’d pay for a map pack like what Bungie did when they were in charge of Halo
U know I like how u see that there’s a bundle for 600 credits for 3 items and then right next to it there’s another bundle for 1,800 credits for the same amount of stuff, they are just not hiding the greed anymore
I just had the realisation that Infinite has nothing for getting all the achievements
I have all the achievements in Infinite, and nothing to show for it
The issue i have with req packs is that cosmetics were tied to it, i hate the fact that ide get fuckin foehammer after 10 matches. I also didnt like the duplicates, and i very much disliked the only custimaztion we had was body and helmet, and visor custimaztion.
halo 5 multiplayer was one of the best in my opinion, you can get new weapons and vehicles for free like i did and i was constanlty playing it because the game feels so good.
Edit: we should start playing again halo 5 and make it popular, maybe 343 and microsoft will wake up.
Something I really want to see go is the arbitrary value system. common, rare, epic, and legendary. It’s just an excuse to say one thing should be way more expensive than it needs to be.
man halo 5 art style is so....... gd impressive.
In helldivers you can buy one helmet for a dollar
in halo that costs you 20 £
This is exactly what my point was about last video, the value you get back from the game is close to if not none. People said at this point we should all get paid for playing infinite and that’s an issue showing how much content they are stripping away from us with the shop and cosmetics
I know i'll probably get hate for this but I never had issues with Halo 5. The fact I could have unlocked everything was so much better. I remember I never unlocked anything and one day I just unlocked 50 packs.
Microsoft greed and 343s incompetence is killing halo 😢
It sucks cus i genuinely enjoy the gameplay aspect, everything else just sucks so much :(
Why can't we get the Halo 5 variant weapons?
The silent majority Remy, they have no clue of how much depth and weight in character/story catapulted such a franchise… if I owned 343 I understand if they can pump easy cosmetics and make easy money rather than spend resources on solid content it’s an easy W. I think big business has finally taken over this franchise. Keep up the great work man, you are so talented and have an awesome job. Look forward to seeing more of your vids.
$14 armor/AR paint in the store a week ago 😂 for the price of a full fledged indie game you can buy a single paint color. Of course, actually seeing what that paint looks like in game vs the store is the equivalent of a McDonald's burger on the menu picture vs what the burger actually looks like when you go to eat it.
I quite disliked Halo 5's REQ system if only because it seemed to make it so that every Warzone match I was in had a single large battle where everyone brought their big guns out, and whoever lost seemed to decide not to waste their unlocks on a game they were losing. But I also dislike Infinite's expensive store.
Honestly, I've just stopped playing Halo in general though, aside from casual games with my friends. It's a shame, used to love BTB Objective back in 2 and 3, and Warzone was still fun even with the issues I had with it.
I'll be honest, the lack of fun things to grind for made me switch games. I have oddly found I get that grind itch from Overwatch at the moment to pad my skins and still work towards lifetime cosmetics and flare.
Maybe it's because I know Overwatch will be supported for some time, maybe it's because overwatch runs buttery smooth at high and low FPS... Couldn't say for sure but all I know is it's not the hero shooter aspect it's the earnables feeling like I'm getting rewarded and making Mr want to drop money for battlepasses and so on
It’s been more than a year that we haven’t explored what happened to MC in infinite.
We knew this ever since we found out we were going to have to pay for the color blue in Infinite. I think that was about 3 years ago
Honestly they should just fix halo 5 on xbox. ( not the weapon glitches but the game freezing)
It freezes now??
@@amuroray.1690 on custom games it freezes after a match
Cant believe people actually think loot boxes was a better system LOL. If you could just earn currency in game and shit wasnt hella expensive this wouldnt be an issue
Personally I prefer halo 5s microtransactions, just becuase I can unlock stuff by just playing.
Obviously, would be better if it isn't lootboxes, but if I can unlock stuff from just playing then I'm happy
Though overall... unlocks should just be through gameplay.
I told myself a few weeks ago that I’m done buying battle passes and game items from all games. Done dealing with developers shoving out games that are unplayable and lacking content taking months or years to fix and then relying on store to to line up pockets
If they just gave us a way to earn some credits by playing the game it would help so much
I agree, I’m a diehard fan that has always bought the special editions, I took part in the 15 anniversary livestream and won a halo themed Astro headset, I have god knows how much merch and halo infinite has pushed me to the point where I don’t want to pay for anything after the last season they did because the focus clearly shifted to just milking money for minimum effort.
Im in favor of combining the systems. Free lootboxes but if you pay irl money you can pick what you want
Ya know what’s funny, both Microsoft and microtransactions have micro in it, now it makes complete sense why Microsoft is so greedy
It's so annoying that they add so little things for gameplay but add so much to cosmetics, which the cosmetics look cool but it's not cool when you can't even get the cosmetics because of a paywall
All I want is a Cyan colour in Infinite beyond the cadet cyan (which is beat up and ratty looking), so I can stick with the cyan I chose back in Halo: CE without looking scruffy AF. Guess what? There's no cyan outside of the cadet cyan!
I been a fan since 5 years old and I’m 23 now. By time I was 12 Halo 4 came out. There is no words to describe spending my entire life coping and hoping on a game like Halo 2 or 3 to release in my adult life
We should petition for the store to be reevaluated again. I suggest take store items and make them into battle passes. For me example I’ve been using the weapon variations that have been added. some shouldn’t be in the bundles where they currently reside. If we can’t buy them individually then I compromise moving all similar weapon variations to be in a battle pass. Ones I would exclude are like the BR rifle variation you get with buying a pro team bundle.
maybe they could have made Credits unlockable through quests, or around maps, or even a LTM one week of a month where you can gain a shit ton credits
The big problem with the Halo 5 REQ system was I didn't like the art style so most armor unlocks were useless to me. With actual good looking armor it would be a better system than the current shop.
Every corporation does this now. Quarterly growth and profits are all that matter. They just dont care about anything beyond the next earnings report.
Tinfoil hat time. Halo Infinite's store was done to try and bring us all clawing back to the loot boxes.
Crazy how every good Halo title that people are actually active in isn’t even supported by Microsoft anymore 😂 (Halo Online and Insignia H2)
Im just glad you made a video about this , cuz I've been thinking the exact same thing.
I remember 343 saying they didn't want to get content out at the pace they did with H5 because of the so-called crunch. But man, what a nightmare has the infinite release schedule been.
I never gave the req system a single penny. I played and grinded in the virtual mud and the virtual blood for every skin and armor piece.
