Things that most annoy me here in Spain!
Living in Valencia, Spain is amazing, but not everything is rainbows. There are a few really annoying things I still can not get used to even after 3 years living here. Believe me, I know moving to another country comes with adapting to new culture and new habits, but I just think there are a couple things which can be done better and everyone will benefit.

What about the monkey gestures and sounds to black football players?
You know what annoys me about the USA? Human poop on the sidewalks. Even the dogs are disgusted when they see it.
We don't close from 2-5pm or so to take the siesta, not many people sleep, or if they do so they do after lunch for a bit while watching the TV for example. Places close at that time cause it's LUNCH TIME, and nobody goes and buys stuff at that point of the day, people are at home eating...plus during some months it's very hot at that time, so people are just at home and not on the streets. So what's the point on being open at that time if you will until 8-10pm!!!
En una ciudad turística es una tontería cerrar al mediodía porque los turistas no tienen nuestros horarios. Eso es a lo que se refiere le chica del vídeo, que perdemos dinero y oportunidades de trabajo por nuestra poca visión de negocio.
En España los restaurantes no dan comidas a la una ni cenas a las ocho porque los clientes/españoles no van.
Os creéis que la gente no va porque están cerrados pero la relación causa - efecto es al revés.
Más claro...
Esas horarios serán en lugares sin turismo internacional. De lo contrario se saltan a la torera lo de que el cliente siempre lleva la razón y no están ofreciendo un buen servicio.
La siesta hay que respetarla como decía mi abuela. Siempre la usé para leer.
A degree of planned inefficiency is what makes Spain, Spain. You can’t have your cake and eat it in life.
It’s very important to be clear on this because the moment you start thinking “if only in Spain they would do it this way, etc...” that’s the moment you lose the appeal of Spain. Everything is interconnected. It’s the same, let’s call it naivety for lack of a better word, of loving the fact that in America everything is open all the time while simultaneously regretting and criticising that people are overworked. It just doesn’t make sense. It’s either hypocritical or as I said naïve.
Countries where the market is extremely efficient are countries where humans start to behave like robots. The abstraction that is the market have evolved much rapidly to a state of super efficiency than we have. We are not there yet and probably never will. Some countries push their societies to meet the market demands because “the market is always right” some others, most of Europe in fact, deliberately chose not to meet all market demands (the planned inefficiency I mentioned earlier). There is a price to pay with each option so pick your poison. I know where I stand.
And as I said a few times in this channel. You are experiencing bureaucracy as a foreigner in Spain not as a Spaniard in Spain. Not that it’s still not awful but keep this in mind. I lived in France for a while and the bureaucracy there is horrendous but would it be fair to compare to my country (UK) where I have never experienced bureaucracy as a foreigner? Of course not

Agree. I reckon that the bureaucracy here might be slow sometimes but since the implementation of the electronic signature (Cl@ve) I have been able to do most of my paperwork on my computer. During the past year I only did paperwork in person once. I moved to a new place and I needed to register myself at the town hall. The staff was helpful, quick, and nice. But I live in a tiny village in Asturias soooo maybe it's not the same as in a big city like Valencia 🤷🏻♀️

You sir, are fully right. The market is generally efficient, but the unleashed market rid also creates unexpected consequences, as well as state policy does. Just protestant mindset I guess.
I moved to Barcelona a few months ago and I have to say that regarding the poop, They are generally picking it up, but there is some work to be done of course. Lets say that 9 out of 10 people clean up and that last one makes it look bad for everyone else.
We were promised by the govt that dog owners are obliged to pay fine as much as €300 if they dont clean up the poop. I have to 'shower' my shopping cart each time I get home

I agree that overall, an overwhelming majority pick up their dog poo. People do get told if caught leaving it as well.
In bcn normally the people, the owner of the dog retire it, but with so much people there could be one of many that not, but I don't think this is only in Barcelona or in Spain..
I live in L.A, some people do that same thing here. I know I shouldn't, I confronted a guy who didn't pick up after his dog, he just looked at me without saying anything, I asked him, if he was going to pick up the poop, he said no and walked away, and he was in his twenties.
Pues al que no le guste nuestra manera de ser,ya sabe lo que tiene que hacer. Nosotros no obligamos a nadie a quedarse.

Supongo que no tienes ninguna queja sobre España, tu comunidad/provincia/ciudad o la gente con la que compartes tus tierras. Si tienes 3 ó más, tal vez es hora de buscar otro lugar para vivir.
Y lo de la mierda en la calle: si no quieres limpiarla, entonces no debes tener un perro. Es parte del cuidado de ellos y, si no lo haces, no tienes respecto a los demás.

As a Spaniard I actually cherish and wouldn't change our work to live mindset.A majority of Spaniards aren't too hard to please ,We are happy with the bare needs. We dont require fancy big trucks and 3 bedroom houses like Americans for example - We rather make less and enjoy the act of freedom and living more. And I hope this never changes. 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
Me niego a que a que en mi país acabe siendo una sociedad que sólo viva para trabajar y que estén los comercios todo el día abiertos solo porque a los guiris se les antoje comprar o comer cuando les de la gana. En el resto de Europa sobre todos los país del centro y del norte, los horarios comerciales todavía más estrictos.
La gente tiene derecho a conciliar y vivir. Siempre hemos tenido horarios en el comercio y no ha habido ningún problema, aunque cada vez y sobre todo en lugares muy turísticos son más amplios, lo que me horroriza y sería volver al trabajo esclavo. Para que quieres mucho dinero sino tienes tiempo.

Supongo que como usted viene de el país capitalista por antonomasia no lo entienda, pero en cambio ha elegido vivir aquí.
Lo de la caca y la buroracia le doy la razón aunque depende en que zonas y regiones la gente es más cívica y recoge las porquerías de su perro.
Es cómico que alguien que viene de EEUU donde hay 600.000 personas viviendo en la calle, donde 37.000.000 de personas están en el umbral de la pobreza, donde mueren asesinadas una media de más de 20.000 seres humanos al año,tenga los santos 🥚🥚 de criticar nimiedades que además no son la generalidad…
No es que sea una sociedad que solo viva para trabajar, yo que vengo de américa me encanta que todo esté abierto a toda hora y las personas que lo hacen trabajan unos por las mañanas y otros por la tarde así funciona eso, aquí en España los establecimientos no sé lo pueden permitir por lo costoso que es mantener a los empleados y adicionalmente es parte de la cultura que todos los establecimientos cómo los de restauración cierren desde las 4pm ~ 8pm.
@@gorgojo500 Pues me parece muy bien que le encante que esté todo abierto en su país ¿cuál de Ámerica? a mí me horroriza. Es una de las razones que haya tantos obesos es porque están al alcance de la población comida de m. todo el dìa y no hay horarios establecidos para comer, lo cual es insalubre. Aquí tenemos establecidos horarios regulares para comer. Fuera de estos no va nadie a los establecimientos, tampoco a hacer compras de otro tipo. Tener abierto todo el día las tiendas y restaurantes es perder dinero. Ya hay centros comerciales que sí está abiertos.
A mí me encanta que se respeten los horarios de los trabajadores y se les pague como indica la ley, ya hay suficientes jetas empresarios que no lo cumplen. El esclavismo ya se abolió y ahora vienen a decirnos desde yankilandia y todo su patio trasero que vivas de las propinas, ni seguro médico ni servicios sociales de ningún tipo, si tienes suerte habrá algún alma caritativa.
También están los dueños de negocios que no tienen empleados que cierran sus tiendas y bares y lo hacen por su salud física y mental.

Not so long ago in Spain animals were only for work, nowadays there is a tendency to humanise pets but we leave it to others to pick up their excrement. I consider a city that is full of urine and dog poo to be unhealthy.
Love your videos and follow every one. Bad customer service and bureaucracy are in most countries. I've lived in France! It's the same in England too. I'm now 76 and lived in Spain for over 20 years. I get along OK with the language but I do feel for the Spanish who try so hard to speak English and make us feel welcome. Obviously, like you said there are always some who are not as helpful though I do understand how they must feel self conscious when dealing with foreigners and documentation. I guess I've been lucky and not had any real problems. Even the tax office in Denia were super kind! I agree a gestor is certainly worth the fee. So, whilst there are certainly drawbacks when living in another country we get there in the end with a bit of patience and a lot of humour.
However, I do agree that dog pooh is a problem.
The rude Italian Restaurant owner was Italian though and not Spanish?
Lol it must have changed a bit now or maybe you're in one of those expat bubble places. I lived in Zaragoza in the late 90s and nobody tried to accommodate me speaking English except for the rare 1 in a thousand who had lived and worked in an English speaking country and wanted to practice their English and reminisce.
Why are you even here ? Go home ! Probably you’ll enjoy more the cockney , tacky or hooligan style of watching TV all day, drinking beer and getting drunk daily like there’s no tomorrow , eating junk bad fried food until you are sick and then of course come to Spain to get the most of our amazing medical system . It reminds me of a saying a Cuban told me once, many years ago , at a conference in Switzerland , when a French was talking bad about Cuba , a quote that I’ve carried with me through the years “a mi no me llaman hijo de puta, para hablar mal de mi madre ya estoy yo” - talking like that about someone else’s country is not ok, but doing so while living for years in that country is beyond credible. When I don’t like something I leave . I hated Austrians and I left Austria . Simple as that.
Ellos quieren vivir la vida tranquila , pero quieren que las tiendas sean como en america , no entiendo tantas quejas sobre le horario ... Se contradicen ellos mismos, les encanta que la gente trabaje para vivir y no viva para trabajar pero luego les cabrea no poder ir a una tienda "local" ( porque las grandes empresas si estan ABIERTAS ) en horario donde quizas las ventas bajen en un 80-90% ya que el resto esta comiendo ...
Lo de los perros , bueno , no puedo opinar por los demas ya que vivo en otra ciudad pero es casual ver una caca ... aunque estoy a favor de que las multas sean superiores para esos que no limpian a sus perros .
Lo de la burocracia si que es un problema en españa y una pena que cada año que pasa tanto los funcionarios como politicos parecen mas ******* ( ya me entienden )
Antonetta eso pasa en España desde la época de los romanos.te cuento hoy fui a entregar unos papeles que me pidieron en una empresa de electricidad la semana pasada,lo tenía todo bien,bueno eso pensaba yo.cuando lo entrego me faltaban potocopias,le digo a la chica que su compañera no me dijo nada de eso.solucion a la española de la dependienta vuelva mañana,con las fotocopias y una firma de mi mujer, que tampoco me habían pedido, después de esperar una hora y media.los españoles le tenemos miedo a la burocracia, osea cualquier papelo.mas miedo que torear un toro.un saludo desde Barcelona.

Te doy toda la razón como español. En general en Europa tenemos demasiada burocracia (unos más que otros), comparado con Estados Unidos. Lo peor ha sido con el COVID, esto ha hecho más difícil acceder a cualquier servicio, y todo debe ser bajo cita.
Con respecto a los horarios yo si estoy de acuerdo, ya que hay muchos pequeños comercios (familiares), y no pueden estar abiertos tantas horas como una gran superficie, ya que deberían contratar más trabajadores o estar permanentemente en el negocio. No vivimos para trabajar, trabajamos para vivir mejor.
Por último, las heces de los perros en la calle, es cierto que a veces te las encuentras, es una falta de respeto, pero gracias a Dios son una minoría quien no las recoge.
I loved the movie clips you used to show those contras of Spain. They nailed it! I strongly agree, and honestly, those things sometimes make me doubt I can integrate here. I had a worker in my apartment doing some painting and "alisar".He was taking btw 3 and 4 hours lunch break despite complaining he didn't know he could make it to my given deadline! I still like Spain too and the work-to-live mentality, but sometimes I feel they are forgetting completely the work part. I am glad you talked about it. I now feel reassured it is not me being too demanding, and I am not American, I am European.
Spaniard here, I've had workers in my house to do some stuff, and acquaintances of mine have also worked on that kind of thing. I don't think I've ever known of people who take such long breaks, so I'm not sure if you just got the wrong guy doing the work. But I believe that being understanding and talking out what bothers you are usually the way to go. I've had problems sometimes with the workers, but generally, they've done great and worked really hard for me to finish the stuff I wanted to be done.

Back in 2004, I stayed at a hostel in Madrid and conversed with an Argentinian guy who worked as a receptionist there (who had been living in Spain for a while). He told me the hostel's owner, a Spanish woman, NEVER hired Spaniards to work there! When I ask why? He said that Spaniards offered terrible customer service! I had first noticed that during my first trip to Spain 4 years earlier. For the record, I do love Spain and its people... ❤

A perfect country is a utopia, therefore you have to see the pros and cons and if you are happy with the pros, get used to the cons, it is what it is. Regarding the people who "work" in civil service, what you say is true, it's a question of having patience and being used to it, if you get upset it's worse. When it comes to banks, it's a matter of making a scene and threatening to take your account to another bank and demanding to speak to the bank manager. Regarding internet companies, telephone, etc. If you are not comfortable with the services, then you go to another company and that's it. Regarding the hours of the establishments, let's see, not all the places close from two to five in the afternoon, the supermarkets do not close, only the small shops close since they are normally family businesses with a couple of employees and they cannot hire more people to work shifts and in Spain, thank God, there is an eight-hour workday required by the government. The restaurants and bars, let's see, there is no Spaniard who has lunch at 12 noon or dinner at 7 in the afternoon, therefore, as there are more Spaniards in Spain than foreigners, food is served in the Spanish schedule, which is when there are more customers, if a foreigner wants to have dinner at 7 in the evening, then go to a fast food establishment that also exists in Valencia, but do not try to have dinner in a typical Spanish restaurant at that time, much less a paella and the same with lunch. Eso no pasa en USA. Intentarán ayudarte en todo lo posible de manera profesional y por supuesto no van a quedarse sin comisión por recomendarte ir a la competencia 😂
Very few people know that millions of people in Spain live in the homes that Franco built and they were free, all you had to do was get married and apply for a home, it took about one year to get your brand new place. Those days it was a human right to have a place to live and raise your family. That’s the reason why people are not poor in Spain, imagine not having to pay rent or mortgage.

Tony from Joshua tree! 🌳) Am actually working here and just been going back and forth) So talking about the Spaniards not wanting to work and their way of life 😅 Well I don't think they'll ever want to be like Americans, their culture is just too strong and family oriented more than adventure or to be entrepreneurial so much . But slowly slowly what I've found is they do like money more these days , but don't really need a ton of it, like millions or billions to have a Great time , as Americans need for what ? a bigger Mansion in Marbella or the whole Legacy type of thinking 🤔 I don't know , just thaught I'd write something as you were saying you'd like to here people's opinions 😉 🙂

It's a country that makes most of its money from tourism....so they could easily have a few businesses open for the needs of tourists.

this sounds so much like when I moved to mexico. so 17 years later, some things have improved though primarily in finance and controls to try to prevent money laundering. many other things I gave up the hope of them getting better or more efficient. the one thing I learned is that when I have to go to any banking or government office, I now bring originals and copies of everything I can think of that they may ask for. many times it wasn't necessary but other times they just forgot to ask for things I fortunately had with me. the worst example I have seen is the management of covid vaccination but that's a long story. ironically I am considering moving to Spain so its good to know what to expect and hopefully I will be prepared
4:55 i have a hair salon and don't close from 2-5 but me as the boss is the one who stays bc I assure you that yeah there's people that want to work but just 3 hours a day of salary to another person is the electric bill i have to pay each month so there's business that sadly are forced to close.

Laziness is the word you're looking for but don't want to say it. I lived in South France for abt 2 years & the laziness was the mode of operandi. They don't care abt their jobs bc unions own the country more than anything or anybody else. Half of the country is not working. The other half is mad for working. 35 hours work week was killing them & strikes never ended. Maybe the most part of the working half are working part time. If they fire them they still get paid & the suit can take years. Culture is terrible. I couldn't find a bit of anything from their past culture. Police doen't speak English so if you call for emergency you might die. They'll just hang up on you. The man you encountered in the store in the mall is the typical bozo. He gives a shit abt bothering himself "working," moving a finger for the company that hired him. The system is a very weird mix of capitalism & socialism. The servers in restaurants are so obnoxious that I stopped eating out anywhere at anytime. They greed you like you just getting hostage to their whimsical attitude. Desrespectful isn't not the word. Arrogant + ignorant is a very bad combination. It's sad to hear the Spain is the same way.
I lived in southern Spain when I first noticed the dog waste problem, also waste on beaches was annoying too. Don't remember that bad of a problem in dense parts of Madrid or Aragon, maybe because it seemed there were less dogs. The beurocracy problem and customer service is a constant I suppose, but had family that would help and not there now. I suppose the same is true all over Europe. Some experience in SE Asia seems that it is the same, they don't go out of there way either. Can it be just a US problem that we just judge on what is expected instead of having more open attitude. After all, we are the visitors in most cases. Also, try finding customer service in US where everything is to lessen or no personal contact/fast food/automated check out/online and phone bots for questions, virtual medical appointments.
Do you happen to have a list of companies for the paperwork?
Learn Spanish fluently and paiperwork in Spain you'll find quite easy to solve

Knowing Spanish or Catalán is a must if you are going to move to Barcelona. If not Gestorías Will do the paiperwork for you But at a cost.
You can del the paiperwork through the Internet too But either Catalán or Castilian Spanish Will have to be used if moving to Cataluña

@@demetriusm8221 The weather in Galicia is Atlántico But for the Province of Ourense which is very Hot in the summer and can be quite cold in the winter.
Valencia Auto.Region is Mediterránean and dry .Summers are normally warm and suny....

Yeah, all the things you said are basically true however if they were like my country (Australia) in all these things you said then it would not be Spain. A friend of mine who immigrated to Australia gave me the advice to not compare my old country to the new country as it would make things easier for me. She was right! The only thing that truly annoys me since moving here is the dog poop situation. It´s here in Madrid too. It´s disgusting.

In your vid about Valencia, you had a list that placed Paris on the bottom-10 of cities as rated by expatriates/transplants. All towns & countries have both good and bad points. Your negatives about Spain (mindset: 'hasta manana') are in the US's future. As for Valencia, its most picturesque real estate dates back over 80-90 years. That's when both enough money & quaint architecture were in Europe's vocabulary. The old world vs the new world has been a running debate since at least the 1800s.

I'm agree, I think that the burocracy make hight taxes and as a self employed it's hard do the paperwork, pay taxes, hire people and pay more taxes and do more paperwork for hire this people

Valencia wasn't as bad as Madrid & Barcelona when it came to sewage smell in the streets. That was kinda annoying but I'd also never been in that big of a populated area.
Apparently, one of the signs that th rain would fall soon is when you have to cover your sink with tissue paper 😄😄😆😂😂🤣🤣.

Well, in EU, Banking Services are highly regulated by BoE (in many cases, trying to protect and favour retail clients), so many burocratic paces can't be avoided by Banks.
I like the things you are saying and they are on point but I see a good business sense, I think its a different kind of comfort for them when it come to doing business; but like life some things we have to just let go-lol; Im also new to Span, and I thought it was me lol.

No quiero sonar borde, pero estas generalizando mucho. Sobre la caca del perro simplemente no es verdad, todo el mundo la recoge incluso ahora se lleva como sprays para el pis de los perros, que después halla alguna gente que tiene poca educación y dejé la caca de su perro es otra cosa y no es algo generalizado, somos uno de los paises europeos con las calles más limpias así que sinceramente lo de la caca me parece muy de buscar entre las piedras, por lo menos hablando desde mi experiencia viviendo en varios sitios de España de norte a sur, no puedo decir que tengamos las calles que dan asco y con escrementos.
Tienes razón, hay muchos sitios con parques para perros, y depósitos para coger bolsas, no se, siempre habrá pero en general las ciudades son muy limpias. Yo por lo menos no me quejo. Antonieta vete a Oviedo tiene premios de limpia que es, y otras también muy bien en es te adpecto

Young Spaniard are prepared with good academic titles but they only receive underpaid and undervel job. And if its one that is good its extremely difficult to achieve it. Thousand of candidates for one good job.
However, as a civil servant there is plenty of Jobs. Soldiers, police, administrative, doctors. Ten thousands of candidates for thousand of job positions. And the job conditions, incredible. Good salaries, good working hours etc... Even if you achieved the job is extremely difficult to lose It. There is Even the "interino" thats the one that you can have temporary jobs as civil servant to reinforce the positions they need in public services.

Que no sepas cómo extranjera los pasos a seguir para algún documento y te falte algún requisito o los bancos tengan distinta forma de funcionar que en EEUU y tú no lo sepas al no vivir aquí no significa que haya ineficiencia,yo como español pido cita por internet en donde tenga que hacer la gestión llevó mi documentación necesaria y ya no necesito volver más,muchas gestiones se hacen en el mismo día,te dan cita,día y hora y listo.
I've lived in Spain for 24 years and I'm from the US. I agree with you 100%. Your poopdar developps overtime living in Spain. Madrid used to be worse with dog-doo on the sidewalk not to mention in the parks. I've been living in Seville for the past 2 years and I feel like I've travelled back intime. The Seville is the dirtiest city I've ever been to so far in Spain. It's so trashy except for the historic center.

En primer lugar ella habla de la caca de los perros. Sí es cierto en EEUU hay menos por la calle. Si quieres hablar de las ciudades en EEUU muchos son horribles! Estoy de acuerdo contigo. Si no vives en una zona rica del suburbs, olvídate. Sí conozco Sevilla, los pisos donde vive la mayoría de la gente no son tan bonitas. Muchas viviendas están deteriodas y viejas. Aglunos barrios tienen basura por la calle. El Porvenir y Nervión son excepciones al igual que el casco antiguo. El resto es un poco trashy de apsecto ni hablar de las 3 mil vivendas. Los tres barrios más pobres de España siguen estando en Sevilla y los tres más ricos en Madrid. Así se desprende del informe del estado de la pobreza por comunidades autónomas, elaborado por una red de ONG's. La diferencia de renta es abismal: de 5.800 euros al año en Sevilla a 40.000 mil euros en Madrid.

Las "cacas" de perro no es (en Murcia al menos) un problema en la actualidad. Es algo qud depende de lo serio que sea el ayuntamiento con los dueños de lis perros. Si el ayuntamiento de una ciudad multa por este comportamiento, este disminuye o desaparece, si es permisivo...
En la actualidaden mi ciudad, veo a los dueños recoger las cacas en el 99,5% de los casos. Incluso portan una botella de agua para veterla cuando los perros hacen pis.
Estoy todavia esperando por la multa d €300 😆😆😂😂.

And they have never said anything to me for bringing a water bottle to a restaurant. I usually ask if they mind. But so far, they have never said anything.

How did you get your paperwork done in order to move to Spain ? I’ve been really tired of living in the US and trying to keep up with the Jones. I’m looking for a way to be able to move to one of the EU countries and stay there long term. I prefer keeping my US citizenship if I could, or a duo citizenship would be most ideal. But I’m not gonna lie, I feel uneasy and don’t know where to start. It’s to uproot my whole life to a new place, new country, new language, new people. I don’t have any friends and family in Europe that can help me out when I first come there, so everything will be on me to figure it all out.

I have to agree with you about everything! Even to make an appointment with a doctor (private insurance) established hours set by them are not followed, no answering service, go on vacation and no message to indicate if anyone is covering the doctor! I guess you cannot have an emergency!
About banks, everything with appointment due to Covid still! Employees taking midmorning time off for breakfast even though there is a customer waiting. The hours as it is are so short for banks 8:30 -2:30.

You didn’t mention anything about the noise, motorcycles and cars being revved up even late at nigh! Buildings not insulated for noise at all!
About the poop, plenty of younger people take their dogs out and don’t pick up, the street gets hosed down often but within minutes there is poop everywhere, seen enough of them walk dogs without a leash on the paseo marítimo and the dog poops and they just look the other way.
Sadly we have come to realize that Spain is not for us.

No tengo ni idea de Valencia pero tal y como lo cuentas parece que es en toda España que no se recogen las cacas de los perros, una cosa es decir lo que no te gusta y lo comparto contigo que la burocracia es insufrible pero lo de los perros no es verdad, incluso ahora la gente no va solo con su bolsita sino que además llevan un espray para los orines del perro, te invito a que rectifiques, gracias

Customer service is often non-existent in Spain. There is a lack of training and many people do not even know what is mean by professionalism. It´s a concept that many have not even heard of and I am not joking here. In Spain, it´s often the case that the main aim is to get cash for doing little or nothing and to not do any work that you don´t absolutely have to or can get away with not doing. The aim is to not work. It´s just the truth.

You are right spot on. 1. Red tape and working hours with the public administration is the worst (citizens are always behind the "funcionario" in terms of "rights"; thanks to their syndicates, they don't care) 2. Lack of business sense compared to the US... uf, BIG ONE. In Spain they are not proactive compensating the customer e,g. one day we had to wait 4 hours seated at a table in restaurant and they never imagined any proactive compensation (I have many examples of the opposite in the US) 3. Dog thing, in Spain there are a 5% of "listillos" that make life bad to the rest, just to save a little effort. I HATE Spanish "listillos". In my block, were we have cameras I find the poo always on the camera's blind spot. You know, fines are high but they know nobody is watching. Besides the fine I would make them clean up al the poo in town. Other kind of "listillos" are on roads when they cut in a line of cars waiting to exit a road, making the rest to violently brake down the line and provoking a much higher waiting time (it has the effect of a dangerous shock wave that is magnified down the line). With all, I can assure you the "listillo" problem was way worse in the past, people now are better.

Lo de las cacas de los perros es del ayuntamiento de tu ciudad, en la mía si ven a alguien en la que su perro deja la caca la multa es muy alta. No hay cacas de perro en mi ciudad, así que en ese sentido una ciudad o unas cuantas ciudades no representan a España.

6:00 somebody is benefiting of this situation or it wouldn't be like this very fast as obviously it is a big problem that causes many other problems. I disagree that this is only five percent. Without this 6:00 in Spain you will not be able to do anything unless you want to live in an Airbnb and live on a spend only basis, which some people think that people have infinite money not needing income. Well....even for tourists that money has to come from somewhere. If the tourism industry goes downhill I would not be surprised either. Just keep making it harder for entrepreneurs and you will have the formula why there are no jobs. But... somebody is benefiting or there would be no reason why it is like this.

I love Spain. Probably my favorite country I’ve ever been to. I understand the siesta. But i can never really figure out when it starts. When it ends. I end up eating at Burger King or some big chain a lot while I’m there. Just because I can’t figure out when they close and reopen. But I look at it like I’m from the States. And who am I to criticize their culture. But overall I love it there. Would like to try to live there at least part time someday. Possibly even Valencia. Which I haven’t been to yet but seems like a really nice blend of beach town with the culture of a big city. Anyways I enjoy your videos .
I usually check the business on Google Maps to see their midday closing hours, it's not 100% accurate but it rarely fails me.
