The new handheld console KING? Lenovo Legion Go unveiled

- Tired of squinting at the screen on your Nintendo Switch? This is the newly unveiled Lenovo Legion Go.
It may have detachable controllers like a Switch, but it has a much larger 8.8in, 144Hz, QHD+ LCD.
It’s not much of a Nintendo rival. Instead, it’s intended to go up against devices like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally.
The Legion Go runs Windows 11, has an AMD Ryzen Extreme APU at the helm, 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of solid-state storage. There’s also a microSD slot, enabling you to add up to 2TB of extra storage. The Legion Go is a little chunkier than Asus’ Ally but its touchpad should make navigating Windows easier.
The Lenovo Legion Go launches in October for 799 Euros. What do you think? Would you buy one over a Steam Deck or ROG Ally? Or rather stick with your Switch?

I appreciate detachable controllers. Considering that if they break or malfunction, I can get replacements without sending the whole unit.
YOU can replace steam joysticks for 26 USD lol and 6 screws. they don't use Bluetooth that adds lag and will kill your battery faster. Bluetooth adds lag drains battery, this will all be compounded with no VRR and 1600p. 40 mins battery top bet my next check!
@@X862go That’s cool. I may end up replacing my joysticks eventually. However it’s most likely not using Bluetooth when connected to the device. Honestly VRR isn’t that important in handhelds. And lastly 90% of are close to an outlet and this has multiple usb ports and fast charging so I’m pretty sure it’ll be fine.
@@X862goThe steam deck sucks, performance is absolutely trash on graphically demanding games.

Don’t forget that the right controller is also a mouse when switched on! That’s awesome.
I’m getting my ROG Ally next week and XG Mobile soon after.
But THIS looks awesome as well!
How you liking your ally.
It's a steam deck on steroids 🔥
or nintendo switch on steroids. Or maybe a strange child between nintendo switch and steam deck.
@@carlosabrahamgamarraperezlol yeah this seems like it.
No asus rog ally
I sold my steam deck for my Ally, and this thing might be better than both!
Imagine playing Doom with super stable locked 120fps 720p!
Vrr is just so needed tho, the screen on the rog ally is one of my favourite features, i use it more over my ps5 and 3060 laptop
I will say it's nice to see some of these handhelds coming out that's not costing over $1,000. But I do kind of wish that that we get very competitive with steamdeck pricing tho... 399.99 is just a beast of price for what games you can play on it. But I am considering the legion go over the Ally just only for being able to play game pass and not have a fried sd card reader.
Yeah but it has 400$ worth of limitations.
This is what 700$ gets you. A better product. You can't just sell things that are more expensive at a loss
Sadly I doubt other companies can afford a lower price without cutting any important corners. Steam Deck was able to sell that affordable because they knew you'll buy a majority of the games on your Steam Deck via the Steam store (in other words, where they'll get most profits)
@@Kogamiyep and that’s probably why Lenovo is pushing their store so hard even on this. Valve like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo can afford to sell their hardware at or near a loss where pure hardware manufacturers just can’t.
@@ricksanchez7250you've never owned an ally have you? I can tellc
Just got mine a few days ago. This mf is NIICE!!
Sick bro ..what games have you played on it ?
I think it would be AWESOME to see a variant of this targeted toward creatives. For the price and specs you get, this should be able to handle CAD, 3D modeling, and lightweight usage of Adobe applications (not sure how well it would do with video/ animation)
Absolutely love mine and so glad I chose this over the Deck and others!
The steam deck is extremely affordable for most people imo that's why it will stay King of the handhelds for a while.
The switch is currently King in terms of sales easily
@@taotravyuniversalist7747not for much longer, eventually something will overtake it, you can’t just sell the same thing for 6+ years with no changes and expect people to keep buying
How is it more affordable it's 200$ difference at the most and for the same storage the price difference is 50$
I'll stick with my deck the support is amazing not spending $700 for ten more fps
Steam Deck is still my preference
Why??
@@mikeo6185much more affordable
@@mikeo6185I love the design of Lenovo Go seriously but I also prefer the steam deck more. A lot of reasons especially the OS , the community who works on it and the support. Tho I heard valve will release steam OS for competitors and that only means more linux based portables might come someday so we can see more shift with compatibility on future games. But quality wise I can say that steam deck is really a more solid one for its first production iteration. I can also play new pc games beautifully on it so I got really no complaints aside from anti cheat required multiplayer games.
@@mikeo6185for me the dual large trackpads and their placement which makes them easy to use for gaming and not jusr navigating the OS.
There are so many PC games you just cant play without trackpads. Sure with just normal controller controls you can play your battlefield, GTA, red dead, etc
But on my steam deck i've put 100s of hours into project zomboid, rimworld, astroneer, FTL, civilization, stellaris, crusader kings, frostpunk, dwarf fortress.
And those games because sooo much less precise and more clunky with just standard controller controls.
I'd take the trackpad functionality over the like 50% better gaming performance the Legion Go will roughly have anyday. The trackpads triple the amount of games i can comfortably play on the device.
The Lenovo go is a far superior device, valve will have to make a new steam deck at this point.
I got one and already own the steam deck and rog ally and let me tell you this thing is amazing
How do you find it compared to the steam deck in particular? Strongly considering the upgrade over my steam deck, as I don't fancy spending just as much to get an oled Steam deck with the same performance as my lcd deck
@Tom--Ace the ally kicks the steam decks ass. Don't get me wrong, steam deck WAS cool. But I sold mine and picked up the ally. The ally is just a better all around machine. Steam OS and Linux are a pain. The ally is an actual pc. Paired with the 3080 xg mobile, it can 100% be a desktop replacement for a casual gamer
It looks great. I got Steam deck and Rog ally, The downside of the legion go is that there is no VRR.
It's so beautiful!
ayn loki max looks best to me,,,,this reminds me of the onexplayer stuff

I have one, and i have an Ally. I need some more time with the GO, but right now i really like the Ally better.
Looks neat!
The big selling point for me is the mouse function! Do you plan on talking about that?
Lenovo is planning to sell a clever accessory for the Legion Go that turns the right controller into a wireless mouse. It looks a little weird but if you pop the controller into the accessory ring (it attaches magnetically) it should make Windows 11 a little easier to navigate. With such an awkward shape, however, we can’t imagine we would ever be comfortable using it for gaming.
@expert_reviews ohh, you mean FPS Mode? You hold it upright like a trigger/flight stick
@@expert_reviewsIt comes with the console
@@expert_reviewsthey aren’t selling it, it comes in the box.
The controllers also get loose over time
This looks like the perfect PC handheld to play PC Football Manager on while sitting in the sofa, especially with the big, beautiful screen that it has! Better than the Ally and Steam Deck
Im seriously thinking if getting this, with the glasses, thats a serious football manager experience
And the Switch

Yeah ima need this
It looks legit cool and I’d get one if I didn’t already have a Steam Deck. I love seeing the competition in this space though and it makes me wonder if Nintendo has anything cooking up even close to what’s being released already.
I sold my SD to get the Go. I only have to wait 3 more days!
I would get this over ally or steamdeck

I wouldn't mind having one but I would never substitute my steam deck
Big Steam Deck fan?
Deck's hardware is a big no for me. Cant even play fifa23 smoothly. Many demanding AAA games not supported
@@expert_reviews yeah sure I guess it's just that for me the ergonomics matter a lot and the visual design is also very good and since I had a laptop with no power for gaming and I now game on the steam deck sure I can't play a lot of games that I own but I couldn't pkay them before and the steam deck was a life saver the 500Gigs model wasn't too expensive for the price it was when it was on promotion and will alow me to record games and let me start streaming I liked the design of the Lenovo Legion but it would probably go a bit over my budget the design is coul and seems ergonomic(my wrists have a small problem so ergonomics is a must), and the fact that Lenovo Legion has a track pad makes me consider since I would be able to play close to all of my games(there's still a game that I would need my laptop to play and it's League of Legends) the rest I could play every other game I own but I still love my steam deck since it alowed me to start playing with my best friend games that I couldn't before and the fact that it has enough power for me to start streaming, don't get me wrong I would absolutely love to have a Lenovo Legion but I wouldn't stop playing on my Steam Deck, it's not like my opinion of the Asus ROG Ally the Ally has a cool design but for someone that likes shooters not the first option it has no track pad and it's not as ergonomic as the Sream Deck so even if I had enough budget for a new handheld I wouldn't go for a ROG Ally if I had enough budget for a new handheld in that case I would go for the Legion.
So yeah I guess the Steam Deck has a special place in my heart but in the future I would probably buy a Legion as well to play the titles that I can't on the Deck.
@@abdullahharman174 I guess it depends on the games each gamer likes for me since I like shooters and Soulslikr games for now I can play cs if I feel like it and most soulslike games have been steam deck verified but as more demanding titles come out the steam deck will be something that each player needs to think if it's worth it for themselves or not, from all my games the ones I can't play are from not being steam games or from not being supported on the steam deck(most from incompatible anti-cheat) and most my games aren't too demanding I have tons of games that only require 8GB of RAM I only own one or two games that require more RAM and every game I own processing power wasn't an issue before.
Also Steam Deck is cool for people who love to tinker with their devices.

Ended up sending mine back after endless issues with the controllers. Ran games amazingly well. Definitely looking again further down its life cycle. But for now it's just too much faff.
My home pc is very old running a 3rd generation Intel, basically if I buy this and use it with a dock it can also be used as a home pc? (only use it for browsing streming and video player)

I got one from microcenter with a 2tb 2230 pre-installed.
Awesome hardware. U can easily doc it and it makes a powerful windows portable computer with external display n inputs
Linux better for handheld. Win11 is more bloated then win 10,
Also since it has dual usb-4 it can support any external GPU.
*Main Question:*
Which has more battery life cycle expectancy, the OneXFly,Lenovo Legion Go or the GDP Win 4?
*𝖨 am looking for 7 things when it comes to buying a pc handheld:*
*•* Better,faster and stable game performance(No flickering,stuttering or freezes,etc)
*•* Better battery output and capacity
*•* Better game input latency and better game latency
*•* Can be docked on a tv or a pc or both
*•* Non or minor bug issues for the pc handheld
*•* Gotta have a battery supporter, if i happen to use it a lot while plugged in to a wall socket or a power bank so that it wouldn't wear and tear the component as fast.
*•* Make sure it will provide great after-market warranty support. So that the company won't give you a hard time for warranty claim down the road.
- Also i am also thinking of buying a container or casing for it that has drop, dirt, scratch, dust resistance and if possible water resistance.
Buy a laptop.

i have a pc, a laptop, and also a few console handhelds and big consoles already, what i am mainly looking for is a portable device that can both play pc and console games from different types of new and old console platforms for online and offline play on one device, that is also able to use an adapter to connect a wired mouse and keyboard, in other terms *"conveniency, efficiency and less annoyance to come across with when handling the device"* what kind of nutjob who wants those what i've stated specifically but wants to carry a laptop all the the time and has to wait a long time just to fully charge the laptop just to get the most out of it while playing and also use a long annoying power cord. You don’t have to lock the Ally’s below 120Hrtz because VRR. I don’t mean to sound rude but you understand this chip will not be able to hit close to the 144FPS at 1600P so it will be a stuttery mess unless you bring it down to 800P on anything modern game.
At that point the 1080P with VRR will look much better while also having a much smoother experience. Deck users don’t complain because it’s a different market segment. It’s nearly half the price of the Ally.
The legion is going after the Ally’s market share, and frankly the lack of VRR will eliminate most technically proficient buyers from the mix.
