I love how the basis for alot of these special effects was "Let's show those critics what special effects really are"
As a kid I was impressed with your lightsaber skills, as a grown man I'm far more impressed with your vfx skills.
Especially considering they did this in the 90s and early 2000s. VFX was a billion times harder to do back then than it is now.

@@lewisgrant7622 Well I think it was actually posted after before that. They had a website up where they posted the original, but the CZcams upload was way later.
Awesome stuff! I bought the DVD back in the day, but it'll be cool to have this out for everyone now.

How is this 15 years old?! I remember rushing home from school knowing this was being released. I got home, waited forever for my laptop to load up and navigate to the early version of CZcams to watch this…..

The attention to detail is crazy, I would never have even thought about taking the time to do things like refelctions and distortion in glasses and such. Please do more!

The attention to detail in your work is amazing, especially like the way you use led sabers when it made sense but used carbon fiber blades as for the heavy lifting. Good job 👏

I work at an Amazon warehouse. Sometimes I think how cool it would if RVD 3 was shot there. There would be so many interesting locations to shoot just within that one building. You guys would be using the glowing hilts that they use in modern day star wars to get the real practical light glows on camera.
I know absolutely nothing about visual effects, but the sheer levels of dedication and attention to detail you went through in making this video is incredibly inspiring.

I remember watching this when it first came out, and even today its an amazing achievement! So great to learn how you did things all these years later.
Fun fact: In the season 2 finale of Mandalorian, there's a single shot of Luke using a shortened LED 'hero' saber where they, for whatever reason, just didn't composite the glowing blade into the shot. It jumped out at me the second I saw it.

Did you guys get jobs at ILM after this??? The VFX work is absolutely exceptional, as well as the meticulous shot planning and practical FX elements.
The same Lightsaber that Luke Skywalker and Rey trained with was used to kill dozens of children.
You guys did that with Master Replicas ? That’s insane. I had a 2005 MR Darth Vader .. hopefully you guys didn’t get dead spots on your blades. I’ve since upgraded to Ultrasabers 🎉

I would not be a VFX artist myself now if it were not for early day CZcams, and especially these fights.
