Overall, they just wanted an excuse to have sex with multiple men. That is why they lie in the interview.

I've never done the "hard to get" thing. I'm just honest, assertive, upfront, and straightforward. We're told men like "the chase" but every guy I've talked to has told me he hates the dumb cat and mouse games that comprise a lot of dating. I'm usually the one who does the asking out (including my current boyfriend), guys love that I don't wait around for him to make the first move and I take the pressure off.

It could also be cultural. Chinese women from my experience play hard to get for the reasons mentioned. Scared to be hurt again, want you test the guys commitment, and don't want to initially come across as "easy". Holding hands to a chinese woman is like first base.
If she is does not say "Yes" to your invitation and at the same time is making excuses to avoid you, then you need to drop her right away.
