History of Nizamia Observatory - Hyderabad Shaan

Nizamia observatory is an optical observatory which was situated in Begumpet at Hyderabad. This observatory is now using for Special Education Centre for Mentally Handicapped & Institute of Genetics & Hospital for Genetic diseases . This is the third observatory in country. Its founder was an England-educated rich noble man Nawab Zafar Yar Jung Bahadur, the youngest son of Sir Khursheed Jah Bahadur, who was the minister for defense in the Nizam's government.
