      At the contact ideally you want to have racquet square to the net, for heavy top spin your racquet path should be more upwards towards the sky. Hope that helps!

    For the lag I just pull the butt cap past the ball and swing way inside of the ball and magically the racquet comes around on its own. It seems like it will be a complete miss and doesn’t compute with the senses so it definitely takes time to overcome what your mind things the path should be

    What a well taught video. The tennis coach I work with and you are the only ones who have explained these mistakes and how to correct them.
    It feels strange at first trying to change from wrong form to the correct form of the modern forehand. Eventually the correct form starts working and the beautiful feel of the easy power and control reinforces the change. And that makes me want to practice the correct form a lot to get it into my deep brain.
    Would you please also do a follow up lesson that adds to this forehand lesson explaining the timing of stepping and putting weight on the outside/back foot and how to transfer power with the outside foot pushing the outside hip forward. Explain the timing, placement and weighting of the outside foot and rotating the hip at the point of contact. How to use the hip rotation to create a relaxed forearm lag motion. Instead of using too much arm and not getting that added relaxed racket head speed by properly timed hip rotation.
    Thank you for providing lessons for tennis players who want to achieve more by using the modern tennis techniques and how to incorporate the upper body and arms motion with the correct feet and lower body timing and mechanics of the modern forehand.

    Hi Coach, great video my friend. I just started playing with the Babalot pure drive 110, before that I played with the Wilson profile 95 for decades. The Wilson is handle heavy and the Babalot is head heavy and I noticed on my volleys and ground strokes that the head of the racquet started dropping as I was playing points. So to fix this problem I put cotton balls in the handle to add weight and try to balance the racquet. Do you have to custom size your racquets as a professional? Because I think people are sometimes playing tennis with the wrong racquets. I post myself practicing and I try to share my experience with diabetes and being disabled. So I am trying learn from you how to play better and easier tennis, thank you very much for your time and making great videos my friend.

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse

      Thanks for sharing your experience. I am using regular pro stock racquets, directly from the store. I always wanted to customize my racquets though but never followed through. Still, I think everyone is different and can find their own preferred racquet setup. Feel free to explore! 👍

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před 29 dny

      Good question! You would focus more on the swing path towards the ball, you want to change angle of that swing, more upwards towards the sky (or roof) 👍

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před měsícem

      So happy if this helps! to speed up your hand, stay loose in your upper body and try to engage hip and core when swinging. When you add loose arm and wrist on top, you get a real bullet. Spin can be added in more ways, it's very individual (grip, strength, etc) but mainly work on the angle of your swing path towards the ball, it should be most likely with more upwards (steeper) angle than what you have. 👍👊

    I get the lag and pointing the butt towards the ball but at contact are you thinking about keeping it with your hand back or snapping to a particular position?

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před měsícem

      At contact you activate forearm and slightly wrist but you don't want too much wrist. You practice and build the natural feeling there so that finally you don't think what you're doing but only where exactly you want to hit and what kind of shot (more spin or more flat).

  • @albertcamus5970
    @albertcamus5970 Před měsícem

    So on the drop - it should be like relaxing the arm with gravity or can you kind of swing it down? If it is mostly gravity and relaxation - isn't this too slow on like a return of serve or short ball?

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před měsícem

      Great question. On fast balls, you definitely use some force to accelerate the whole swing, including the drop. 👍

  • @beam6981
    @beam6981 Před 28 dny

    Thanks for the video! I have been attempting to get the butt cap pointed at the ball, but my racket lagged is just not as laid back as your wrist. I am a 5.0 player and I have been told muscular. Are there any stretches that I can do to get my wrist to lay back a little more?

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před 28 dny +1

      Wow that's a great point and a difficult question. The fact that you're aware of it is very important first step. You could do stretches for forearm and biceps (for example standing facing the wall, arms in front palms up and try to place them closer to the wall with straight arms). Also I believe that doing lots of relaxed shadow swings can help a lot with that too!

    Mistake 2 is how the players on the wta hit the ball. Why is it the women can swing that way but not the men?

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  Před měsícem

      I don’t recommend it even for women. It’s unnecessary, if you’re fast enough and fit you can use simple swing and body weight. Especially nowadays when the game evolved, it’s much faster than before.

    • @jamesking6030
      @jamesking6030 Před 10 dny

      @tenfitmentennisimpulse the reason why is quite simple. Women generate power from the hips because that is where they are strongest and they have narrow shoulders so therefore they need to swing behind there back because that's where the space is. Many men swing from the outside because they are stronger from the shoulders so that is where the space is for that type of form. Come on man you should know these things.
