It's amazing that we live in a time where people like you can share their wealth of knowledge with such a large audience. Your content is top tier and amazingly crafted. God bless
You absolutely right about him!
What's more amazing is how few people seek out this kind of knowledge and wisdom.
I am 31 been doing the trades since 2013, ten years now. It amazing how few true craftsmen are left.
I'm a complete novice and remodeling my bathroom. Just started hanging the drywall on the ceiling by myself. Urghh hard as heck and had to cut my sheets in half just to handle it. But I messed up with gaps and with factor ends meeting cut ends. It is so hard! I cried half the day yesterday. But your videos give me hope that I can do this! And finish this project! I adore you! Thank you for all you do.
Hanging a ceiling is a pain for the guys too. I know that feeling, but next time you handle drywall, you'll know more. ;) And the kilted guy rocks. -)
Nothing like working without shoes lol
I relate!!
You cried? There’s no crying in drywall
I've done my bathroom wall, 5 TIMES. I've invented swear words. Lol
I love the kiltmaster, Everyone makes oopsies, and small mistakes regardless of how long you’ve done something and the fact that you leave those clips in the video shows just how relatable and genuine you are. I Learn a lot from your videos thank you and god bless.
Prefilling is my favorite. Makes me look professional without actually having done anything
I feel a whole lot more more confident after watching how this is done. First, I learned how to prep the mud-clean water, cover your dry bucket, and which tools I need. This is not hard IF you do it right.
Now it’s time for my own blooper reel, because just when you think it’s not that hard....
“They” say, if someone makes it look easy it’s because they’re a master.
Great video! I’ve done a lot of joints as a homeowner, first I’ve ever heard about pre-filling. I would fill, and tape straight away. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad I found your channel. All of your videos are so helpful! Keep up the great work
As a fellow Scottsman and renovator/HVACR guy, kudos brother! Your advice here is incredibly valuable!
Great job! I just finished my garage ceiling. What a pain but overcoming pain is a great life lesson and very rewarding. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
It’s a pleasure watching a real pro share their expertise, thanks for sharing
I’ve been doing drywall for years on many of my projects…. I’m still learning something new from each of your videos. Thank you!
Love your vids! Used them extensively for a DIY project I did remodeling my entire kitchen from studs out and now doing the bathroom the same way. Your videos made the job MUCH EASIER -- thanks!
Great video and informative. I’ve drywalled over 40 years and always appreciated a good taper or plasterer behind us. There was one spot where a screw was close to the broken edge . I would add another about 2 inches back just to be safe . But great videos . I enjoy watching quality workmanship!
Thanks for making this video, I have an old house that needs a lot of work. I will be watching a bunch of your tips.
I bought a double wide manufactured home last year and I’ve been watching your videos trying to educate myself. I’m finally ready to get started on a room and you are my GO TO resource! Starting in a small bedroom to “test” my skills before tackling bigger areas. This one is exactly what I needed this weekend!
Glad to help
You always give great information. And I really appreciate your great sense of humor! I'll be on the lookout for the clear formula iced tea.
I have an uneven joint to tape and you addressed that perfectly near the end of the video. I'm learning a lot from you. Thanks!
I really appreciate your videos it helps to have someone to show a Amateur like me what to do and how to do it thanks
You just answered several questions I had in my mind. Thanks for your lucid understanding of the subject but even better you explained well.
Thanks. Howdy from the great Republic of Texas
First time ever hanging drywall, learning a lot from these lessons! Thank You and Thank You for your service to our Country! HOOAH! T-Rev US Army Retired
Excellent instruction, great editing and I love the lighthearted humor. Subscribed.

Thanks, glad I could help you out 😎. And thanks for subscribing!
Exceptional advice. Using the real life examples is much more helpful than using a flat front of a drywall board. Definitely my new go to site for drywall advice. I’m still far from perfect but getting better. Thanks for the help.
Thanks, I appreciate that 😎, & Thanks for subscribing!
Yep - I need to do all of those pre-filling steps. Thanks for the great techniques.
Thanks! I've been waiting for this video. I have all of these issues with my first drywall job under my kitchen sink. Sure would like to know how to deal with shut-off valves and pipes. I always learn so much from your videos.
I have a home where walls were beat up by previous owners and my twin teenage boys. I have been able to fix it myself with these videos! Thank you so much for teaching us!!
Thanks, glad I could help you out 😎. And thanks for subscribing!
My daughter has done a walkthrough on the house she is buying... same concerns. For nearly all my life I have avoided drywall work as being too exotic; this channel made me see it is within my abilities.
I found your show a while back and you seem like a guy a might have worked with in the past. That’s why I like your show. No BS! Just some great time tested ideas that you’ve willing to share. I appreciate it. I’m a carpenter but have never been the best finisher with mud. At least not very efficient. Looks good when I’m done but takes sooooo long. I’m definitely going to look back at past episodes to check out more tips.
Thanks again!
Thanks, I appreciate that 😎, & Thanks for subscribing!
Thank you for sharing your taping knowledge and skills, you have helped so much!
Perfect timing! Just ripped out some paneling and the drywall behind looked like that except an area I was questioning. Thanks for the good information.
I’ve been working on replacing drywall in a kitchen where backsplash tiles had to be removed. Your video has been the most helpful, easy to understand I’ve ever seen. Thank you for your excellent help. Fred
Thanks, glad I could help you out 😎. And thanks for subscribing!

Straight forward and also humorous
Thanks for explaining the importance of prefilling...I'm a homeowner trying to finish up a project or two and this is helpful info. I subscribed because I have a lot to learn.
great video, clear and concise. As with any job prep work is 80% of the effort.
Thank you for all the help. You hit every question I had about what I need to do in order to fix the problems with my armature drywall hanging job! I am going to share this with my husband, and I know he will get a kick out of the kilt, lol. And I loved the picture you shared in the beginning of the video. That was sweet.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Guy
Tanks for the help, wishing you health and blessings !
I rarely comment too much, but I must say- excellent video. You have the knack for keeping the interest with your down to earth, practical instruction.
All in a nutshell- good info, confidence in the demo ( and that speaks of years of practice) and 1 shot of humor to keep things light.
And the Camo Kilt- great on a hot day, yet macho enough.
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. The camo kilt is a utility kilt
Doing a renovation now, the drywall was hung and taped by pros, but this is good for all the little changes that need patching. Thank you
I’m doing drywall in my kitchen. I’ve been watching your videos and learning as I go. It won’t be perfect I know that but I feel more confident now
The two videos I've watched of yours have been really helpful. Thanks for taking the time.
Thank you for your input

Great videos! Very educational!!! Thank you for sharing. Remember, knowledge is power!!!
Thanks for filling some of the gaps in my drywall knowledge.
Thank you. Your explanation is spot on.
Thanks. I carried forward some framing mess and even used a different thickness in a spot due to time constraints. This clarified how to minimize the debt going forward.
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Thanks, you just fixed all our mistakes. We literally had everyone of these bloopers.
Much needed lesson on initial mixing
Thanks for the nice easy pace to follow. Learned a lot!
Great videos! No nonsense and straight to business. Outstanding!
Thank you for your support!
Thank you very much. I did my first drywall and had all these issues and needed some suggestions.
Perfect video covering a bunch of situations!
Loves your videos. I work on high end kitchen and bathroom renovations in Florida typically alone and have used a lot of your experience on drywall repair with my own experience and it has really improved my A game. Looking at this video reminds me of why I hate others hanging my board, this one isn’t to bad but my biggest thing I tell hangers is never gap my inside corners or make recessed to but joints if possible.
Recessed to butt joints aren't that big of a deal and not that hard to finish. They're also unavoidable if you don't want to waste a lot of board.
J Will: I typically hang from top down so that the cut is behind baseboards eliminating any possibility of that happening. I would agree that if you are patching in an area large or small then yes it could occur. Also when mudding recessed to recessed you can almost always do final finish in 2 coats vs 3 but that also depends on quality of finish performed. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa.
@@DavidSmith-tw7bw A top-down hang is key on larger areas, for sure. And of course taper to taper is much easier to finish, but a 2 coat finish is tough if it's going to be visible.
Learned so much from this video. Helped me avoid many of the pitfalls of patching drywall and getting professional results. As a retired USAF vet myself...Aim High!
Great to hear!
thanks for showing some of the common obstacles that I will face as I start to mud my drywall in. I was wondering how to go about working with some of the broken edge pieces. You answered all my questions. thanks again.
Great video! Thank you!
Iove it, I had holes like the ones you covered up.
