some schools do heathers the musical, so i’d imagine a teen version of npmd could work pretty easily! a lot of the makeup/effects could stay just toned down or clearly faker (or cut to off screen if needed), cut the tub song or change it to something about kissing probably, etc. i honestly don’t think it’d be TOO too hard to write a high school version and keep it basically unaffected by the PG-PG13 altering
I think it could work for npmd but tgwdlm would just not be as funny without the swearing, it would really throw off the comedic timing. Also the costumes and makeup arnt that mature like i think it is pretty pg13 already. (Btw if anyone makes a pg version of tgwdlm please dont remove what do you want Paul, it's helarious)
That's a good point. I think npmd would be easier to adapt for schools than tgwdlm also partially because the characters are mostly teens anyway it lends itself to high school productions. Yeah I think Dirty Girl (and any other religion or sex jokes in general) would probably be the touchiest aspect but most of the murder and stuff is on a similar, even more cartoonish level to Heathers and probably less violent than something like Sweeney Todd which also has a school version.
Yeah I do worry about how the humor would be affected mostly. I think the violence doesn't have to be a big problem on stage where it can easily be not graphic but I'm just afraid What Do You Want, Paul would be way too adult for most high schools to be comfortable with.
I'm working on a dissertation on the Lords in Black that I started working on before NT2 but stopped because we just didn't have enough info on them, however now we definitely do. I was actually wondering if you'd like to do a small bit of voiceover work or just a small interview to get your thoughts since you're a pretty big creator (in my eyes, with 30 subs). In terms of NPMD it was really good, but what I love most is that we got the history of Hatchetfield with the Waylons and why the Lords in Black seem to lurk there, so I see myself getting into a lot of theorizing But yeah, let me know if you'd like to help out on that video when I'm done doing research!
That sounds really cool! You can find my email on the CZcams desktop version and my socials if you want to contact me directly. Probably easier for a convo than the comments section.
Oh very interesting. Does it still have all the poop jokes? I never know if that's something schools are okay with as it's "potty humor" but not really adult.
@@SilvanaLTD yeah, i’m actually fairly surprised with all the stuff they kept in the script, they still swear some and keep all the horny ox stuff, and even though they changed the ending song for obvious reasons, my drama teacher decided to use the original, most of rehearsal had just been him saying that he’s definitely going to get fired lol
honestly that sounds like a blast. my high school wasn't even allowed to do Sister Act because a parent complained it was "too sexual" 😂 Also nice pfp @@nugget1044
if you mean the lines they say in the album instead, it’s more or less the same lines in the proshot but with different characters: “reynolds was in the school, we all know he’s the local mule selling drugs to our children!” “i’m a volunteer counsellor!” “we know he loves killing” “well i certainly don’t love killing!” “baileys on the loose and he’s got a gun and he’s got a motive to kill” “i’m a cop!” “careful all your kids will end up on karen’s plate” “until jerry went on his murder spree” “i knew it was jerry!” “it was girl jeri, that dirty girl!” they also said they initially planned for charlotte to have a cameo too :(
I hope they don’t just never upload it. I literally couldn’t see it bc my friend needed to get picked up and I was the only person who was free & wasn’t at school or work. My mom & I both were excited to watch yet on the day of before we could commit to it, we had to do that instead. ://

The Lords In Black costumes BLEW ME AWAY, I love the details and references.
They were freakin awesome! I think Kim's was my fav.

there's gonna be so much fanart. fandoms love color coded characters~

I was so happy to see you pop up in my subscription feed! Loved the video, looking forward to a more in-depth review :)
Thanks! I'm hoping to have it up by the end of the month :)

So glad to see you back!
What were the original lines in hatchet field without the cameos?
i didn’t see it so i’m not 100% sure, but the lines seemed generic so that it wouldn’t change the lines at all, just who’s says them

“until jerry went on his murder spree”
“i knew it was jerry!”
“it was girl jeri, that dirty girl!”
they also said they initially planned for charlotte to have a cameo too :(
Yep @cheese3123 is right it's the same with characters already on stage. The wiki has lyrics for both versions now.
