Julia Hartley-Brewer and Peter Hitchens' fascinating clash over the war in Ukraine

  • As February 24 marks exactly one year since Russia invaded Ukraine, TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer and columnist Peter Hitchens have a fierce debate over the war in Ukraine and the UK’s approach going forward.
Julia challenges Peter Hitchens to name what part of Ukraine should be given up for peace in the region.
Peter Hitchens: “I don't believe that the territorial integrity of Ukraine should be destroyed."
Julia: "But that's pie in the sky Peter!"

This is here and now ..Hitchens can't seem to get past that point that Ukraine should chose its future regardless of its past ....Russian paranoia about internal and external issues is the reason Finland Sweden now joining NATO which in effect means Russia itself has broadened the NATO border by being an aggressive neighbour so if you heap coals upon your own head you'll find them hot...as for peace deals they have been and are ongoing attempts in resolutions put forward but declined by Russia ...this was a war of choice not the only choice that in itself says it all...

Do you understand how much of food supply is tied into Ukraine? What happens do we let Ukraine fall and let Russia have the share of gas and oil in the area and grains and fertiliser?
Trump warned what would happen if the EU became reliant on gas and oil from Russia, they'd use it against the EU, that's what they're doing. They're using it as means to force people to change their mind and back leaving Russia to it, to let them do whatever they want in Ukraine.
What happens if our food supply is in the hands of Putin? Seriously have a think about it. We don't make enough grains and there's simply not enough room to do it, for both human consumption and animal feed, while also coming up with our own supply of fertiliser, and growing other foods we need.
That's why we're so into this war, because this does affect us.
It's deeply niave to think otherwise and shows a lack of understanding the public have about our food supply. Putin is not going to stop end of, as Julia said rightly so, Putin has done this before on 2008 and 2014. Putin is not going to stop unless Ukraine gives up more regions, if they do that he'll come again in a few years time as has been his game, he's clearly got a record for it.
You're playing the appeasement game and Russia gets that treatment you can bet your right arm China will take Taiwan within a matter of months, taking control of the world's largest share of semiconductor chips we use in EVERYTHING, so we'd have Putin incharge of food supply and Xi in charge of our ability to make anything electoral. Is that really what you want to risk? Because it's a very real possibility. China may still invade Taiwan either way, but the west cannotoe down and let them get away with it, not unless you want to live under a world order in which Russia and China along with their allies like Iran are the leaders.

Hitchens wants Ukraine to surrender. He has repeatedly called Ukraine a “fanciful country.” Over the years he has attracted a massive fan base of putler loving trolls. In 2010, Peter Hitchens travelled to Crimea and wrote a sneering article that set out the Kremlin’s justification for thieving land off Ukraine in detail. In it, he described Ukraine as a “fanciful country” despite the fact that Kyiv was a thriving Christian city many centuries even before the existence of Muscovy.
Just four years later, Crimea was invaded and all the talking points of his 2010 article were deployed by Kremlin propagandists. The article can still be seen in the Hitchens archives.
Since February 24, Mr Hitchens has continued his attacks on Ukraine, in spite of, or perhaps because of the systematic genocide being inflicted upon innocent civilians by the murderous torturers, thieves and rapists of Putin’s army. Hundreds of children and many thousands of adult civilians have died already. If anyone doubts that the genocide was pre-planned, they only have to read what RIA Novosti officially published before Putin’s evil onslaught.
Hitchens, like RT, is in effect a fully functioning component of Putin’s demonic war machine.
