Has someone who been in a controlling relationship. I feel for her. He broke it off because I did my own thing, my money, my rules, I wasn't living with him. But he wanted us to have a joint account and I refused. Threatened to break up if I dyed my hair which after we ended I got highlights, made fun of my speech impediment, anxiety, etc then after we broke up. Turned out he had another girl. So if I were her, I would probably seek help. Because if he's that controlling. I wouldn't put it past him to lay hands on her. I just got out of the relationship before it got physical. But his ex said he was. So hopefully she'll be okay.
yep i been in a shitshow for 4yrs, so controlling.. he forced me out a doorway with no steps and fell in december.. barely able to walk since. I have no support system and i swear some creeps out there prey on girls with no safety net. I feel so defeated, controlling relationships are horrific.

It is NOT an easy job and every day I have to work on myself and finding new ways of building empathy and fostering the client-counselor relationship because I KNOW my job goes deeper than just working with these men. My job ultimately is to help their victims, which is why I wanted to work with dv in the first place, as a multiple times survivor myself). And don’t forget, any partner making such a big deal/threatening to end a marriage over getting your nails done is a major red flag. Most people end up venting to nail techs, estheticians, and hair stylists. Im a hair stylist and many clients have divulged very private info about their relationships. It’s a normal thing.

Chelsea, if you’re reading this, he is showing you his true colours by constantly trying to prevent you from going to your preferred nail tech and doing something you love that relaxes you. Take it at face value and leave because it’s only going to get worse and more difficult as time goes on. This man is clearly not good for you. If he were, you wouldn’t be feeling the need to be doing something totally innocuous (getting your nails done) in secret. You should be able to talk to him about anything and clearly you can’t. If you stay with him, what lessons is he going to teach your baby as they grow, and what behaviour is he going to model for them? What if he becomes physically violent? I know it’s hard, and I know it’s easy for me to say this as someone who is an outside observer with no connection whatsoever to the situation, but please do what’s best for you and your baby, and do it sooner rather than later. This man isn’t good news.

I’m not going into detail, but their marriage was rocky and they should’ve gotten a divorce long ago. (I’m still in school) My mom was too scared to divorce my dad because of financial reasons and because of me, she didnt want to change my school life, where we lived, she wanted me to have a father figure They tried to get divorced when i was in elementary school, however they called it off because divorcing was too expensive for my dad. Eventually they got divorced 4 years later and its still ongoing It’s been rough for me and my mom. For me, I would’ve preferred for my parents to get divorced the first time. From my perspective when you have a kid and their young, it affects them less. I feel like it would’ve affected me less if I was younger because they’ve started divorcing at a period where im struggling with school, my image (i know that might be selfish) I know that the financial stage, environment, ages can be different for everyone, but its easier to do it now. You don’t realize it until its too late, that time has slipped by, your not in a happy state, and with time things can get harder too.

Unpopular opinion, but venting about your spouse/marriage on a massively public platform where no one can hear their side of the story would feel like a major betrayal to me. One person being awful doesn’t give another person permission to be awful. I would hope someone would let me know if my husband was venting about me and getting millions of views, too. Either handle it together in marriage counseling, or just get a divorce. But that’s just me.

We don't know if chelsea gave the nailtech permission to share this information-- plus even if it is airing out relationship problems on social media (assuming chelsea did allow this to be posted, as well as all the other videos about her life), it actually might help her in the long run. These are documented videos of his bad behavior toward her, something she may very well need in the future if her husband turns out to be abusive like many suspect.

And i know there's a good chance he could get physical with her if their relationship continues on this way, but also,, a lot of people are projecting their own life events on to their situation, and none of us would know whats happening as well as chelsea herself... so maybe we should just stop jumping to conclusions. Yes, way. I’m a domestic violence counselor and I work with the male perpetrators (yes, the MEN who abuse women! It is NOT an easy job and every day I have to work on myself and finding new ways of building empathy and fostering the client-counselor relationship because I KNOW my job goes deeper than just working with these men. My job ultimately is to help their victims, which is why I wanted to work with dv in the first place, as a multiple times survivor myself).
I just want to let you know that guys like Chelsea’s husband DO exist and they ARE more common than you’d think. I absolutely believe the validity of this video. I know that many of these TikTok’s and CZcams’s are here for views only and just telling a story but not this one. This one is too real. If I can give you a piece of advice? It would be to work on fostering empathy and compassion.

And don’t forget, any partner making such a big deal/threatening to end a marriage over getting your nails done is a major red flag. Most people end up venting to nail techs, estheticians, and hair stylists. Im a hair stylist and many clients have divulged very private info about their relationships. It’s a normal thing.

Chelsea, if you’re reading this, he is showing you his true colours by constantly trying to prevent you from going to your preferred nail tech and doing something you love that relaxes you. Take it at face value and leave because it’s only going to get worse and more difficult as time goes on. This man is clearly not good for you. If he were, you wouldn’t be feeling the need to be doing something totally innocuous (getting your nails done) in secret. You should be able to talk to him about anything and clearly you can’t. If you stay with him, what lessons is he going to teach your baby as they grow, and what behaviour is he going to model for them? What if he becomes physically violent?
I know it’s hard, and I know it’s easy for me to say this as someone who is an outside observer with no connection whatsoever to the situation, but please do what’s best for you and your baby, and do it sooner rather than later. This man isn’t good news.

Chelsea has expressed before that she hopes her stories being shared can help others. Personally I love hearing the stories because she is standing up for herself! I can understand feeling embarrassed if hubby saw a bunch of strangers judging him without really knowing, but really we just care about her happiness and health! My mom had a similar story where she was just in a bad marriage. She was a stay at home mom, she left graduate school to give birth to me.
I’m not going into detail, but their marriage was rocky and they should’ve gotten a divorce long ago. (I’m still in school)
My mom was too scared to divorce my dad because of financial reasons and because of me, she didnt want to change my school life, where we lived, she wanted me to have a father figure
They tried to get divorced when i was in elementary school, however they called it off because divorcing was too expensive for my dad.
Eventually they got divorced 4 years later and its still ongoing

For me, I would’ve preferred for my parents to get divorced the first time. From my perspective when you have a kid and their young, it affects them less. I feel like it would’ve affected me less if I was younger because they’ve started divorcing at a period where im struggling with school, my image (i know that might be selfish)
I know that the financial stage, environment, ages can be different for everyone, but its easier to do it now.
You don’t realize it until its too late, that time has slipped by, your not in a happy state, and with time things can get harder too.

Unpopular opinion, but venting about your spouse/marriage on a massively public platform where no one can hear their side of the story would feel like a major betrayal to me. One person being awful doesn’t give another person permission to be awful. I would hope someone would let me know if my husband was venting about me and getting millions of views, too. Either handle it together in marriage counseling, or just get a divorce. But that’s just me.

I am a nailtech myself and I think this is super unprofessionell. I really admire your work but I honestly think that all this personal stuff doesn't have a place here. I get that, your community is trying to be supportive to your client but this is all not meant to be on social media and can make their relationship problems so much worse.
I can understand him. If I would be a client and I tell my nailtech personal stuff about my relationship I would'nt want her to make this public just to get support by others.

We don't know if chelsea gave the nailtech permission to share this information-- plus even if it is airing out relationship problems on social media (assuming chelsea did allow this to be posted, as well as all the other videos about her life), it actually might help her in the long run. These are documented videos of his bad behavior toward her, something she may very well need in the future if her husband turns out to be abusive like many suspect.
She’s said before that Chelsea explicitly gives herself permission to post these, Chelsea even reads the comments. I think she uses this as a way to get outside opinions being that she’s currently so isolated.
