It can't be emphasized enough how amazing he is. As Vintage Swiss said below, he was pulled up out of the audience for this. No rehearsal, not his band, & not his guitar! You could tell he was ready to take that guitar solo, too, but when the other guy started to play, he backed right off because he is a complete gentleman. He would never play over somebody else but you know he would have killed it!
Normally I don't like country but man I love Chris Stapleton. I'm a metalhead but I can respect his singing. Everything and gives me cold chills everytime I listen to him singing

Stapleton is a throw back to musicians of the 60s through the 80s . Me growing up in the 80s I seen performers like Stapleton release a album seemed like every week. Was just a glorious time to be a musician and a fan of music , acts like Stevie Wonder, The Commodores , David Ruffin, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, (YOUNG) Mariah Carey , Jodeci, Boyz II Men , the entire era of the (new Jack swing sound) , Bryan White, Steve Wariner I can go on and on .

I think James Brown would give his stamp of approval on Chris's performance.
His wife is the one who convinced him to stop selling his songs to other artists and to drop out of the bluegrass band The Steeldrivers (fantastic group!) and go out on his own. So, when he says man ain't nothing without a woman or a girl, he's feeling it because she gave him the confidence. She also sings backup/harmonizing on a lot of his songs and is really the love of his life (along with their 6 , I think children!!)

You should react to some of Chris' work when he was with a bluegrass band called The Steeldrivers. If you're looking for some more good country music to react to I'd suggest Jason Isbell: The Elephant, Jamie Johnson: You Should Have Seen It In Color Or something from Sturgill Simpson. All great bands and songs, but all really different without getting into any of the pop-country stuff.
Got the notification and clicked right away! I knew it was going to be good! I’ve seen him in concert twice and will go back every time his is near me! You definitely need to check out a live show! It is amazing from the first note to the last!

Love the Stapleton reactions! A good follow up to this cover is his tribute to Aretha Franklin. He sings Do Right Woman, Do Right Man. It almost plays out like Ms. Franklin’s rebuttal to Man’s World at certain parts of the song.
