  • Trying out the ENO OCT-1 Octaver pedal. It gives you two lower octaves, but you also get a higher octave to dial in. The higher octave adds some (a lot of) fuzz too, I like it! Tracking is good for single notes, poly not so much.
    0:00 Start
    0:01 Opening riff
    0:35 First lower octave
    1:37 Adding 2nd lower octave

    Essentially, is an octave fuzz mixed with a boss oc2. Not what I was looking for, but cool, might buy it just for the vibes

    Now that looks like a little bundle of fun! Thanks for a great review - nice playing.

      Thanks! It sure is fun to play, who doesn't like an octaver and fuzz thrown together :).

    Can this be used on bass, or will it just sound grungy?

    Really for about 30 bucks, I would say it is at least interesting enough for that kind of cash. Also, I would lime to experiment with it combined with other effects and or instruments. Cool and thx !

      Yeah I agree. If the tracking works ok for your instrument, then it's a fun way to get some cool sounds for very little money :).

    would have been good to test it with a clean tone

    This pedal sounds great! Where does fuzz come from?

      @RudyBressers  Před 2 lety +5

      Also from this pedal :).You get it when you engage the upper octave.

    Sounds more like a "settled" Octaver or is possible to dial in more keybordish/organ sounds like this :

      Yeah the type of sound like the Ammoon in that video is not possible with this ENO pedal. The lower octaves are clean, but the upper octave comes with fuzz built in :). Also the Ammoon seems to do good poly tracking and the ENO certainly does not. It's a good pedal for heavy/dirty riffs, but not for organ type stuff.

      @@RudyBressers Omg and I was wondering why you are adding fuzz to the upper octave, wasn't aware that it comes with it built in :D
      I really love the sound of the Ammoon, the tracking seems ok (most problems on open chords, but could be my dull old strings), but its kinda noisy. Maybe depending on the power supply or where you place it on the board. Found a cheap TCE Octaver, but now I'm having a hard time dialing in the sound I love from the Ammoon in the tone print editor. Default higher octave sounds nothing like that, also all presets I tried don't. But it has the best tracking so far :)
      Btw are looking for recommendations of "the audience" what pedals are worth demoing or is the queue of pedals overwhelming already ?

    • @RudyBressers
      @RudyBressers  Před 2 lety

      @@tellstarrsixtwo7120 Haha yes the fuzz comes free with the upper octave :). I don't mind, but it will certainly not be for everybody. The TCE is the Sub n UP? Seems like a nice pedal, but maybe hard to dial in that Ammoon sound. It's not easy to find an octave pedal that does everything well, at least not for a reasonable price.
      I'm always interested in ideas for a pedal demo, depending of course on whether I can get my hands on it and on the price. But do let me know what you're thinking of :)

      @@RudyBressers Yes the TCE is the Sub n Up and it seems I found by accident some values that might change it in the right direction :)
      Interesting and I think affordable pedals that I got curious about lately are from Nux (Steel Singer, Horseman) and Mosky (The ULTIMATE Overdrive, 'Ch-Vibe' (an Univibe), Magnetic Delay (a tape delay)). I think the Univibe is one of the cheapest ones out there. I already have a decent Univibe on my Nux multi FX, but for that price.. :D
      Don't know where you buying pedals, but there are now more and more Nux and Flamma pedals available in the Thomann online shop. Got some Moskys from a Dutch ebay shop seller, but it seems the seller is gone now and i can only find a Swiss one...weird

      @@tellstarrsixtwo7120 Definitely interested in the Flamma pedals, hopefully I can get my hands on some of them soon. It so happens that I recently got two new Mosky pedals. Haven't gotten around to recording demos, but that will happen soon. I have the Magnetic Delay, and the Black Rat (rat clone). Don't know those pedals from Nux, but I like their brand so will check them out. Thanks for the tip! :)
