    Would you take a combination of all the worst features like lower battery capacity, slower acceleration, and downgraded interior for a much cheaper price, or would you opt for the more premium version for $20K more?

    • @JeromePinckney-vh9dy
      @JeromePinckney-vh9dy Před 21 dnem

      If that version was brought to the U.S., it would have to be cheaper than 35k or qualify for the federal tax credit for me to be consider buying. Currently tesla has the 2023 model 3 in inventory on its website for $36,650 in my area.

      @JeromePinckney-vh9dy yeah sub 30k would be possible

  • @apothecy4011
    @apothecy4011 Před 21 dnem +2

    No. I'd go to the LR just to avoid that downgrade even if I lose the better LFP battery... I am 90% sure that this variant won't come to any "rich country" like the US, Canada , EU ,AUS, China, etc. The Mexico variant will only be for developed counties and won't be global (except maybe the fabric seats option). Similar to the exclusive (upgraded, instead of downgraded though) model Y that China has.

    • @heyJohnEe
      @heyJohnEe  Před 21 dnem +1

      Yeah I think got a point, most people will likely save up a little more and get the LR to avoid the missing components and fabric seats

      @@heyJohnEe Fanric seats are fine , NGL. But removal of ventilation, heating/ heated steering wheel + the removal of the back double glass and the back screen is just too much. They should just offer just the fabric seats in the richer markets (which seem to be well received) for like 1-1.5k less and keep everything else as is now.

    • @heyJohnEe
      @heyJohnEe  Před 21 dnem +1

      @apothecy4011 true that makes sense. But would you buy fabric seat though for 1-2k less? I think many would just fork out the extra for leather, so if Tesla offers this in developed countries it might not do as well

      @@apothecy4011 but to be fair as long as you can pre-heat/cool the car the heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated seats, etc are not really “needed”. Especially in warmer climates all the heating functions are redundant.
      Also the rear screen is useless imo. Who can watch movies like that ?

    No horrible idea company starting to sound cheap.. cloth seats, no heated seats or cooled, heated steering yeah that’s junk. Tesla can figure out another way to bring more customers to like the brand. Cheaping out the car more is not a good sign an look for Tesla… I don’t agree with this.

    • @heyJohnEe
      @heyJohnEe  Před 21 dnem

      I feel the same, although it would allow non developed countries to get into a car they would’ve never been able to

    • @Financialstress
      @Financialstress Před 19 dny

      Agreed.. doing that to your brand is dangerous. That’s why car companies use a different name altogether to separate themselves from cheap..

    In my area Model 3/Y are already same price as Corolla/Civic. Nobody here thinks a Model 3/Y has anything to do with premium/luxury. Everybody has one 😅

    On a separate note FSD 12.5 has rolled out and this time it includes HW3 vehicles let's go!!

      Btw, the EU just announced that the import tariff of the Shanghai Model 3 will be reduced. 9% down of 23%. Possible price reduction for Europe incoming 🤔

    A great car for ride-sharing. In Europe, I saw Mercedes and BMW with cloth seats.

    • @heyJohnEe
      @heyJohnEe  Před 21 dnem

      Are you sure it’s not Alcantara? It can be perceived as cloth but is much more premium, even more so than leather

  • @ojlise
    @ojlise Před 21 dnem

    I love good quality fabric seats. They are much more practical and comfortable than "plastic" seats, even better than leather seats. Never too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. No sweating back or sliding around. I'll take good quality fabric any day over "plastic" seats

    • @heyJohnEe

    Well, BMW, Audi etc also sell cheaper models?
    In times where economies tank, I think its smart to offer different price ranges.
    Tesla could also sell them unlocks/third party upgrades via the shop in the future, if they want like RGB ledbar etc.

    • @heyJohnEe

      Yeah offering retrofits could work

    Having more options to choose can be a good things as it can feel very personalised while saving some money. Some part of the world might not need heated steering wheels.

    Premium, it makes no sense to distort the brand, at the moment it sells the same

      Resale value isn’t the best for Tesla unfortunately

    It’s 39,990$ for a long range federal tax which is 7500$ off msrp automatically if you qualify which most easily do. No brainer to buy now.

    • @heyJohnEe
      @heyJohnEe  Před 21 dnem

      If you live in the US, everywhere else it’s nearly double the price without any government incentives
