    I wanted the ultra so bad when it came out back in 2022 but unfortunately I wasn’t in the position to get one so about a month ago i was able to finally get one I was gonna get a ultra 1 to save money because it looked so identical to the new one but my carrier didn’t have it so I got the ultra 2 I fell in love with it immediately it’s fun how you can change the bands and faces to make it seem like a different watch battery is fantastic I can get about 3 days the backtrack feature is cool overall killer watch

      The Ultra is definitely best in class for the Apple Ecosystem. I do think the cellular connection is the killer feature. Understanding that many people don't want to be connected on their runs, hikes or bikes, but for me the ability to make sure I could be reached in a family emergency just cannot be replaced. I do hope we see a battery bump for the next iteration!

      Glad you got one!
      Definitely worth the wait and the Ultra 2 is a beast.
      I also wanted one when they came out and like you I couldn’t afford one at the time. So I waited, and recently purchased a first gen Ultra refurbished on Amazon for $500. Looks like it’s brand new. Has 100% battery health.
      Unfortunately for me I had accidentally ordered two, (not a sober purchase). My wife ended up trying the other one and now she wants to replace her Series 7 with it.
      Once she figured out how good the battery life was, she was not going to let me return it! 😂

    I have an Apple Watch series 6, which I'm totally happy with. My cell company is offering a deal on the Ultra2 Apple watch and I can't help but consider it. My main hesitation is that I would have to give up the blood oxygen sensor, which I check every day with sleep tracking.

    • @BillMcLean
      @BillMcLean  Před 3 měsíci

      Definitely a disappointing situation with the blood oxygen sensor. I too look at it with the sleep tracking feature, interesting to see the correlation with HRV and other metrics. It is nice to have it all in one place, I couldn't find any apple health kit enabled wifi blood oxygen sensors from a third party last time I checked. Unfortunate.

    I own an Apple Watch Ultra and purchased and have been using a Garmin Epix pro 47mm. Long story short, you won’t miss much.
    Garmin gives you feedback, workout suggestions, recovery metrics, all in one package. Whenever I switch back to my Apple Watch Ultra, I feel like I’m missing out on so much health data. I’ve gotten over the cellular argument by using either a flip belt or taking my AWU with me just as a cellular connection/music streaming device. Garmin feels like a complete device, Apple is an extended connection to your phone.

      I recently got the Ultra 2 and i got it mainly for hikes and runs, i have a garmin bike computer for my rides and it has strava so there is no reason for me to use it during rides but i like it for everyday use.I was debating between a garmin watch and this one but i just went with apple because of the apple "ecosystem" which i can do mostly everything i can on my watch that i do on my phone.

    Yes great watch,and,believe it or not I made my Ultra 2 last 5 days on a single charge.I had to turn off a few things to achieve this feat,and,I’ve still got 100% battery health.Ha Apple,I beat your 36Hr limit. 😁👍

    Currently i have a series 8. But i'm seriously in doubt of buying a ultra 2. But also in doubt of buying a garmin.... Atm the smartwatch features are keeping me with apple. That's what's holding me back from switching to a garmin.....

    Thanks for the video! I’m trying to decide whether this watch is really worth it for me. I’m coming from a galaxy watch active 2 and want something similar or better than it. My galaxy watch doesn’t pair with my new iPhone so I’m figuring I’ll have to switch to Apple Watches.

      You could always go with a garmin watch as well. I made a video comparing the two: czcams.com/video/t3geCaBXVpk/video.htmlsi=e6Ld3eqfPh7Iu_PW
      Less smart features that the Apple Watch on iOS but packed full of fitness activities and holds its own well at their reduced price points relative to Apple Watches. Either that or try out something like the Apple Watch SE to see if you like it, also saving yourself some money in case the answer is no.

      @@BillMcLean I think that’s one thing I don’t like about the Apple Watches. They’re not round. I’ll have to watch the rest of the video about pricing, thanks for the comparison!

    Thanks for the video. I got a few constructive tips for you: try speaking a little bit faster 1.25 speed is the perfect rythm I think you could have. Also your overall video is too cold/blue, try getting a warmer color lamp (red/orange etc) or maybe try something in the video editor. Keep it up

      @@BillMcLean ThX, Question. If I run 2 miles out and then back to the start would you say .13 miles off is bad? Mine read 2 miles out and 3.87 miles back at starting location. Maybe I am just being picky, wouldn't be the first time. LOL!

    So do you prefer superset over athletic? Just wanted to know if superset was worth the $50 a year subscription price

    • @BillMcLean
      @BillMcLean  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I tend to find Athlytic less annoying to use. It’s a bit more bare bones but all of the data is there. I’d say they are both just as accurate or inaccurate as each other, depending on how you look at it. If you already have Athlytic and are happy with it I don’t see a compelling reason to pay for superset but there is a free trial you could try out for yourself!
