Price has gone back up to RM3499, still a good buy nonetheless
After purchasing this laptop and confirming with Dell's support team I would like to clarify that this laptop does NOT have an all aluminum chassis. The bottom cover is made of hard plastic. Shame Dell's website doesn't clarify this as I wouldn't have bought this had I known.
Same thing I experienced. Bought the laptop thinking it’s gonna look new and luxury considering we are paying $800+ for this laptop. Dell failed to mention there’s plastic bezels still on the display… gonna have to ship it back as soon as it comes.
I bought this laptop and I'm happy with it after removing bit locker and turning off PTT. And even played all of Choo Choo Charles. But I did notice the poor battery life though it's an improvement compared to any 2010 Tecra laptop, it only runs off the for as long as I need it to half the time. Not a big deal but this review is confirming that this laptop completely focuses on efficiency with the draw back of relying heavily on outside sources to remain as effective as I've seen it. I might download the fan control app from the Windows 10 store though.
Bro.. 8:30. The fan does not make coil whine. Maybe a high pitched sounds coming from the fan. But its not coil whine... And you could just record the sound so we can hear it. Thanks.
I just purchased this laptop.
When the fan is running, screeching sound comes if there is a alight pressure to the bottom.
Even keeping on the lap, sound is annoying.
I am getting a replacement for the same.
I suggest not to go with this model, since the build quality is average for the price, though specs are good.

Thanks for the great review. I think it’s worth mentioning there’s a bit of variation in battery life depending on the CPU it comes configured with: 1235U vs 1255U vs 1260P. The 1260P consumes about twice the power as the alternatives
That’s probably why they’re $800 off right now
I like the computer, but really need to know the actual dimensions of the keyboard. Do you know the width from a to l keys?

Thanks for the great review. I just purchased the Dell Inspiron 5625 Laptop 16" FHD+ , which is the AMD and touch screen version of this at Dell Outlet for $500 USD and am very pleased. It is for my wife who uses it for social media, cooking videos and family pictures. Thanks for your help with our decision process.

I've bought this laptop recently inspiron 16 5620..
The left side of the laptop is getting kind of warm although the fan is working.
Additionally, air is not coming out of the left vent.

What is the graphics? Can we do 1080p gaming in the laptop?
If you want to game you need something with dedicated graphics to really enjoy it. I have a similarly spec'd XPS with Iris XE and it'll play RTS games no problem, also tried out Battlefield 4 at 1080p and the gameplay was pretty sluggish at times but that's what my Series X is for

I bought this laptop, and I quite like it! One thing - though - it seems like the right side of the touchpad has "sunk" into the laptop. Purely cosmetic, doesn't affect the functionality of the laptop (which is quite good), but it has me confused as I've never had that happen before.
I bought it with the 8GB config because I knew I could stick a spare 8GB module I had into it to upgrade it to 16GB. Dell said that this model came with "Intel UHD Graphics" but it came with Iris XE. I wonder if that's a technical error on Dell's part, because the i5-1235U comes with Iris XE, I don't think there's any of them that don't...
I also wondered the same. I found that Intel doesn't allow PC manufacturers to market the Iris XE brand unless they ship the machine with at least 16gb of RAM. Probably a marketing strategy from Intel to make Iris XE become associated with higher-end PCs.
Iris XE iGPU only works with Dual channel RAM (ie), u need two sticks of RAM. The 8GB has only 1 RAM module (8*1). That is why here, the Iris iGPU performs as a normal UHD iGPU.

It has sunk into the laptop, and has recently started to raise up a bit (not due to a bulged battery, I pulled it and it was fine) -- I wouldn't buy this laptop again, most likely. The touchpad started getting weird issues where I couldn't really move it right half of the time, it would randomly select things and start hanging up while I was moving the mouse around. I have used the laptop docked for the past few months with the screen closed.

I agree. Bought this laptop and have had it for about a month and a half. Fans loud as hell, issue with sound (it mutes itself while using headset, have seen a few dell forums on this), videos on youtube momentarily freeze and Dell support I have to say was awful. My experience with them at least. Dragged me through a 2 week back and forth, getting me to do the same things over and over only for it to end by them telling me to contact some other team.

@@stevenhua what is the output of display port type c? what resolution and what refresh rate?
The resolution is 1900 pixels wide and 1200 pixels tall. It is a good 16:10 aspect ratio which most laptops in this class usually don’t offer a 16:10 aspect ratio, and most use a 16:9. It can be full HD or 3K resolution, still being good. The refresh rate is 60HZ, a pretty standard refresh rate.
