Today we set foot on the infamous 😃island!!! Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 215

- Sometimes even the most straight forward of tasks leads to an adventure. We plan to check out of Carriacou only to find that the customs office closed for good just the day before. Me meet up with Greg-OR-ry and he takes us on chill ride to the main town where the officials are hangin out. They take a short break from watching CZcams videos to stamp our papers and we’re off!
We arrive at Union island, get cleared with customs and immigration, and proceed to the infamous Happy Island which it turns out is built entirely of conch shells. The owner Ravi spent the last 15 years building this island on a sand bar out of the discarded shells from the local fisherman. It’s survived countless hurricanes and now he serves a pretty mean rum punch!
Slightly hungover we find ourselves sailing towards a very special group of protected islands known as the Tobago Cays Marine park. On my first snorkel to shore I see a ray, a few turtles, and even squid. Needless to say the protection is paying off big time in this area and we’re so happy to be able to share it with you.

Tears of joy and remembering. The last charter sail I did with my Dad, six months before he passed 20 years ago was St Vincent to Union Island with a week of snorkeling at all the cool stops between. Thanks for the memories. 👍🤘🏼

You all, as a group, are masters at making people feel good! Thank you for everything all these years. You guys got me through some of the most difficult times of my life and now that I'm on my feet and making good money and have a great career, I can now work toward owning and living aboard a sailboat. This has been my dream since I found you on CZcams back when you were in Australia. Now I'm a Patreon, and striving toward purchasing a boat in the next year. Stay amazing, I hope to get a chance to sail with you one day.

this makes me really sad. There was nothing I liked better than wearing my delos shirts when new videos came out and settling for some really good entertainment, watched from the very beginning. I try to give it time and come back every now and then but for me it has just lost what drew me to it., not sure if its new crew members or maybe I have changed, I wish them well in the future especially Kazza, they got me through some rough times.
Props to Delos! Such a oldschool vibe in this vid.....plus the cinematography was off the charts....left me wanting more!

Well done Brady, I was one that commented on your weight - too much of the good life, and not enough activity, I also live on a cat and I’m surprised with all my activity of boating life, my dog Sailor & I have both put on a kilo over four months. I was shocked, so good achievement loosing it! It’s now my turn! Lol

KAZ when I had hospitlalized morning sickness they give me those alcohol wipes to very lightly wave under my nose to help with the morning sickness and it worked so well I bought a box. That was 18 yrs ago and I still use that trick if I get an upset tummy. : 0 peace and once again Congratulations to the both of you.

We spent 3 weeks holed up in the Tobago Cays in 1999 while freak hurricane Lenny (backwards, west-to-east) hammered the islands to the north. Charter boats would come and go as they tried to make the best of their week of vacation while getting their asses kicked hopping between anchorages. We sat in the calm protection of the reef, and it was beautiful.
Another outstanding video, a nice contrast to the pouring rain we have in Ontario, Canada today! Happy Birthday Jordan!!
Pokeman loves sailing, is a bang'n-ass chef, and he can teach the crew how to kiteboard? Sounds like a great option for a new crew member!
Great episode! Honestly, the editing (including the sound editing) has gotten so damn good. I'm constantly struck by it. The scuba footage with the breathing audio seems obvious and easy, but in listening (and having been diving for the past 35 years) I was immediately struck by how well that sound was captured. Attention to detail on the little things makes all the difference in the experience for the viewer. Well done. ... BTW, HBD Jordan!

Do you remember the days when a sailing vessel could go anywhere to any island and there was no stamping in and stamping out ? Though you may have been welcomed by sustained canon fire.
Flew in from St Vincent twice just to visit the turtle sanctuary and Happy Island. The water taxi fellow had a few too many wobbly pops and crashed his boat into the dock. Made me have another look at our photos of that day
It would be nice to see more of Pokemon. His skill at kite boarding would add a new dynamic not to mention his obvious enthusiasm for sailing and cooking. maybe get him to do a passage with you .

Hey, I thought of something to add. Bringing up good cooks, as you did in this episode, you've had lots of crew aboard and each one has done their share of cooking. Well, I would guess that you've collected a number of recipes for tasty Delos fair. How about you do an episode on your all time favorite meals and how to make them. You could include recipes which we could get a screen shot of and then make for ourselves! If we can't be on Delos we can at least TASTE like we're on Delos! lol
Maybe a Delos recipe book in the future.
That was a DeHavaland of Canada, DHC-6 Twin Otter, they are Great Bush, STOL 6:13 and 8:11 also, they have twin PT-6 Turbo Prop engines on them. My husband flew cargo with them Bach in the early 80’s. What a Great Birthday Jordan had, even a Swedish Chocolate cake 🍰, loved that little “Haircut” island 24:58

Truly excellent photography and editing. I don't think you know how professional you all have gotten. Sorry Kazza was sick and missed her beloved turtles. She did manage to rally for cake though. Great girl. Brian is one of the best skippers around. He sincerely cares for his crew and they turn two for him as well. You all really are quite the best, as a group and individually.
